The Shadowlands are nightmarish realms of decay, labyrinthine spiritual planes teeming with the souls of the dead who have passed from the world of the living. The Shadowlands exist on the edge of reality. the planes of Death and comprised of infinite afterlives sustained by the flow of anima from the recently dead. At the center lies Oribos, the Eternal City.
The origins of the Shadowlands remain uncertain, but they have existed ever since mortal life first arose in the physical universe. They span all worlds, including Azeroth, on which Icecrown serves as an anchor to the Shadowlands. Until recently, the nature of the shadowlands has been mysterious, with the living knowing only the borders, a realm of cold, decay, and languishing undead. There are those who believe mortal souls are drawn into this dark place when they die, remaining there forever. Others hope their souls will go on to a brighter place.
Mortal souls who cross the veil between life and death are judged by the mysterious Arbiter, who sends them off to one of the infinite realms of the Shadowlands that suits them most, each ruled by a powerful Covenant with its own unique role in maintaining the ecosystem of the afterlife.
Governed by the Covenants, the four ruling realms of the Shadowlands are Bastion, Ardenweald, Revendreth, and Maldraxxus (although countless others exist), which serve as the main setting of World of Warcraft's eighth expansion.

1:17:47 - 1:19:08 is criminally underrated, the fact that this is "just" game soundtrack is mind boggling, damn it's so good???
good music, bad for gameplay imo. it, like the town music in Diablo 1, overwhelms the mild stuff ingame instead of complementing it... it's also too much of the same. feels like the harry potter tune played over and over with slow, fast, high, low etc varients.
i guess 1:21:35 feels light enough.
24:43 this recurring melody in Ardenweald is absolutely hypnotizing, with how beautiful it is! i can never get enough of it

All of these are so good and they flow so perfectly together it seems like one beatiful composition, 2 and a half hours of absolute bliss, these are amazing! I can listen to them all day long

@@ElieZ Classic servers population has been dropping for a while now i feel.
@@slinttu1378 Yep. Naxx is harder than expected and I am afraid people have been reluctant in investing too many hours in Classic when they know TBC is coming. I still love Classic though, it's something which I will never forget until I'll close my eyes forever.
@@ElieZ It's a temporary drop on Christmas, in January people will start playing again to progress through Naxx, but I see people reserved because TBC will probably come in spring.

The art and music of WoW has always stayed consistently good.
Ashes of Creation can't come close to touching the art design shown here, despite better graphics.
I don't even play WoW anymore, except Classic and Project Ascension. Just saying, the art and music is fantastic.
The best sounds from Shadowlands were the silence after i alt + F4'd out of that trash xpac
