Battery mowers are great when the grass is short and dry. They're easy to swing around as they're lightweight and handy for the days you have several regular mow, blow, and go jobs but the can't handle long wet stuff like it is at the moment. I've been using the trusty Briggs and Stratton whilst trying to get the Honda up and running.
I like it Nathan, it's light, leaves a nice cut perfect for smaller gardens and as you say after the first or second cut with a petrol mower pull the Pellenc out, what's the price range if you don't mind me asking ?
Enjoy your vids buddy , not entirely convinced with your battery powered Zimmer frame thingy . Noisy as f£#k as well and considering the price .... I think it’s gonna be petrol for some time to come . Wonder what tash said lol 👍
What's your thoughts on it? From what I could see and hear it wasn't the quietest of things and it seem to struggle a bit once you dropped the cut height before you dialled the power up. I'm still not convinced battery is there yet for mowers tbh
I've decided to leave it in the shed and I'll revisit it in the summer when the grass slows and hopefully drier, good to have as a back up tho or if I get some difficult access job. My days are tough enough without pushing a mower while I have self propelled no hassle petrol ones to be honest. Does fly along short flat areas tho so summer seems to be it's use I think. Cheers 👍
I'm sure in the summer it'll be an asset. I'm a fan of battery kit but have always said it has it's limits and this will be the same👍 cheers for watching 👍👍
Good review mate. I didnt like the stihl when I tried their battery mower. I just think they’re a few years away from being good enough. My small hayter battery mower is ok for small formal lawns.
Enjoyed your video as always. We have a lot of time for battery kit, have plenty of it but, correct me if I'm wrong, that mower plus battery is over £4,000!! To my mind that is a ludicrous amount of money for a mower.
Thanks, I'm a fan too as you probably know. Mowers, I'm not convinced on yet. This will come in handy but price point and profit achievable has to be the the biggest consideration sometimes. I'm still earning from the pro 46 mowers I bought early 2020 and that's the return id want from kit. Cheers for watching 👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd Strimmers we are definitely considering switching over to battery solely for the weight reduction / ease of use but even then it means buying multiple batteries just to get through a days work and we just can’t justify the initial outlay for the battery equipment at the moment.
@DullGardener hedge trimmers are game changers in my opinion and they were my reason for battery for reduced weight and vibs. Strimmer eats batteries 😬
Like i said before Nathan, lawn mowers for garden services businesses that mow a lot of gardens like i do its got to be petrol mowers. A couple of gardens and that mowers batteries dead, how many batteries would you need for 15 lawns a day? Anyway, apart from that, it does look like one of the better battery mowers for someone who maybe has a large garden and its just used for their own garden. Or, in the van for some occasional use throughout the day but with the petrol mowers for the bulk of the work. Looks like its got 2 small blades rather one large one, nice.
Has twin blades, it does sit in the van as a backup at the moment, I totally agree and some days we knock out 25 domestic lawn cuts so petrol is the way to go for those. If I worked on 3 gardens a day doing all the weeding etc there too it would do ok. Thanks as always for watching and your comment 👍👍
Nathan only draw back with that mower is it has no self drive. Ideal mower for someone with a small garden✌️ Whats the battery life like? Damien from Cork City
I think my customers would sack me if I was to use that, except for the ones which cannot hear too well. Mind you I have a few of them especially when I start talking about money.😂😂😂
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd we used to use them at the council and could be a nightmare to start my little tip to you is turn it on two wheels and pull the cord if it has problems sometimes this helps
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd looks like £2500 ish?? Can’t believe people would pay this formal push mower personally, that’s alot off decent hand Honda petrol Hondas 😀
They cut fine but sound like a cheap grinder, bit annoying after a while. Keep some spare blade shear pins handy if you hit a medium stone or two. The blades are synced like a chinook helicopter. Remember "one" blade has reverse thread so mark it when the blades come off, 35nm? cant remember. Quite impressive for battery, £4000?? hmm.
Not a fan. I had an Ego on loan for a day last season. Got through all batteries supplied and constantly checking how much power was left. It felt very Fisher Price and not up to the job of cutting grass all day without a squadron of batteries. Ideal for the homeowner but not for me. I think we’re being sold a dream of anything battery powered, especially cars 🤔
Battery for me is all about less weight and vibs so I'm happy with my petrol mowers as I don't carry them around 😂and my 25 year old diesel diahatsu in its lifetime has been more environmentally friendly compared to a new battery car every few years 👍👍
Honda engines👌 used their mowers for years but won't collect in the wet unfortunately no matter what tricks you try. Maybe they've improved tho since I gave up on them. Cheers 👍
battery still long way off power of petrol. resale value of battery mowers going be worse than petrol ones . i will stick with petrol . your be charging batteries all day . not for me at moment if honest . 😢
Drop your comments good or bad, can't be any worse than what the wife just said 😂😂 cheers for watching 👍👍

I recon you're spot on, will look forward to trying it out on those sunny summer days 👍👍 cheers
Not heard of the make before, looks decent enough. I use a petrol mower for most of my jobs, and a small battery one for any hard to reach lawns.
I'm sure this will come in handy for summer jobs or difficult access, will find out in the summer tho. Cheers for watching 👍

😂 petrol for me mostly on these first cuts in these conditions, tash said quite a bit 😂😂 Zimmer frame 😂 perfect for me😅 cheers 👍
Not sure about battery mowers yet, I'm surprised that the front wheels aren't like casters to help it turn, 👍🏻
You and me both 😅 front wheels lock straight or you can release to run at swivel, quite cool actually and does help around a lot of obstacles 👍👍

yes it has its limits but can't help but like it😊just put my back out carrying izy up new punter's very narrow back steps 🤕have a good easter bud 👍
It's got that look and surprisingly easy to carry if needed. Speedy recovery mate👍
Looks a nice Mower Nathan probably better on nice dry grass is it just me or do battery mowers seem loud a lot of blade noise Thanks again
On full power I'm guessing slightly less noise than my petrol mowers, going to be my summertime mower when hopefully the grass is steady 👍
Always a fan of the petrol tools. I do see a future in the battery equipment but for us gardeners I don’t think the battery life is there yet.
So far I agree mate with the mowers and I'm looking forward to being proved wrong 🤔😅👍

My thoughts too, I'll be using it on flat lawns in summer. Half power I'd get a couple hours I recon 🤔👍
I think battery is the way forward with garden equipment. No drive is a bit of a let down but it’s powerful
Definitely on some kit, still in 2 minds with mowers at the moment tho, drive would see me use it more👍
It looks quite light, could be good for those tricky lawns.
Hopefully, it's light enough and easy to carry if needed 👍
With Ego you can work all day long! Better🎉🎉🎉
Try the OSO mower
Never heard of them but just had a look... beast mower😅👍
I don't think it really matters as long as the RPM is identical to your regular fuel units and that your blades are kept ultra sharp.
It's all about the finish and run time and what you mentioned, it'll earn it's keep in summer I'm sure👍 thanks for watching
Interesting. It does look a bit like a Zimmer frame.
Let me tell you, I need one this week😂 straight jacket next week too probably 🤔😂
It's a definite no from me.
😂
Would you buy 1 to replace it?

😂 you need the one's that can't hear or see.. they love my work😂😂
There’s definitely a place for battery mowers but not an everyday mower like your Etesia’s etc.
Totally agree mate, nice to have tho for when needed 👍👍
Honda izy 416 for me . Not sure that would last a full day
No it wouldn't. Izys are tidy, my etesias still run my day to day cutting. Cheers 👍
