    Im crazy about Guerlain. It never fails to remind me of Dad. He took me to Neiman's when I was 14 where I spent my allowance on Aramis. Thats where my nose was at that age. Today Guerlain never fails me.

    I recently picked up Habit Rouge Edt on my last haul and it was a blind buy. Randomly came across this scent due to the rose note and decided to buy it based on reviews on fragrantica. I'm 31 and I find this scent to be good. To me it leans a little on the feminine side but I can still wear it. Even though this current formulation does not compare to the older one you grew up with, I'm happy to say I have a fragrance that goes back from the 60s!

    My stepfather wore the original habit rouge when I was younger. Every time I smell it, it reminds me of him. Would love the chance to win the EDP. Basil and Brazilian redwood intrigue me! I'm in NC and great review!!

    I love the new styling and branding of the new bottles by Guerlain, I just wish all the juices inside remained with their original formulations. Thank you Sebastian for this comparison review because I am by no means a completest, but I was very interested in knowing the differences of these habit Rogue releases and which one(s) I should pull the trigger on.

    One of my top 3 houses. Love the straight forward fragrances. Pure in essence. Very refined, top quality. My personal favourites when it comes to this house are Guerlian Homme , a more masculine answer to Diors Eau Savage. Guerlians Vetever I find even better and cleaner then Creeds Vetever

    I would love to win the L'eau version because the simplicity of the note breakdown appeals to me. Citrus, vanilla, jasmine, hazelnut, patchouli, green notes. I love wearing masculine fragrances. I am in California.

    Hey Sebastian, thanks again for another review exposing me to some new fragrances. I like the note breakdown of the EDP version of this scent as vanilla is a favorite fragrance note of mine and a deeper interpretation of this scent is right up my alley. Continue the good work :) I'm in Connecticut

    Great review! Guerlain's Habit Rouge is my favorite fragrance ever! Interestingly, it's my favorite fragrance in the both the EdT and EdP forms! Yes! They're both outstanding for different times/occasions. Habit Rouge is what turned me into a fragrance collector. Before Habit Rouge I had one cologne I would wear and that's all. One. The same scent all the time. Then I saw HR in a store and sprayed some onto my forearm. WOWZERS!!! CRAZY GOOD! Even though I collect, HR is the closest thing I have to a signature scent. It shimmers, sparkles and shines bright in the beginning. Then it warms and softens with leather and amber and woods, then it deepens with vanilla and incense. Incroyable!!! Jean-Paul Guerlain is a master artist!
    Yes, the Eau de toilette and the Eau de Parfum are both must-have gems. I love them both.

    Finally! I've always wondered about that line although I have several fragrances from Guerlain. My favorite is their Vetiver. I think I could go for the EDP version.

    Interesting giveaway you have here, Sebastian! Out of the 3 types of Habit Rouge you mentioned for the giveaway, I would probably prefer the EDP since I'm into more deeper, richer scents. The Dress Code also sounds interesting with the praline note that you mentioned, even though that one is not part of the giveaway. Count me in, Sebastian. From Columbus, OH.

    I like that you describe the EDP to have more dominant vanilla notes and that it is richer and wears closer to the skin. I'd definitely choose the EDP of Habit Rouge.

    The HR EDP is modern, it goes well with leather jacket and jeans. It has a race car driver vibe because of the petrol & leather note in it.

  • @ginatabasso
    @ginatabasso 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've tried the EDT. I like it but don't love it. On me, I get citrus but refreshing and pleasant then dries down to powder; reminds me of citrus mixed with Bal a Versailles; but extra light; did not last at all. I would like to try the EDP. I've tried the EDT already.

    Yeah never smelled any of these. So once again I'm being educated. I think I would prefer EDT over EDP bc the citrus notes are in the forefront.

    I’m loving Guerlain’s Heritage and Vetiver! Which Habit Rouge do you recommend for first time purchase? How much does the vanilla play a roll in the EDP? I just got done dealing with the strong vanilla note with Givenchy Gentleman EDP and did not like it.

    I have the EDT for a few months now but have only tested it a few times while at home as I am not too sure if it will smell too dated on me. I do like the smell but still trying to build up the courage to wear it outside. Interested in the L'Eau version as you mentioned it is a more modern version. The Dress Code sounds very interesting as well.
    Btw, I got let down by my recent purchase of Colonia Pura which is the more modern version of the ADP Colonia range. Scent-wise it is good enough but the performance is so weak even after 10 sprays ☹️. Hopefully, I win the L'Eau giveaway to make up for this. Thanks, Seb.

    For those who want to start exploring the line but aren't found of dated scents, start with HR Sport. It is the most wearable one.
    L'eau is also very wearable and modern but jasmine comes across too feminine for my taste. And the drydown of L'eau is very boring, as opposed to vivid opening.
    Dress Code is sweet and syrupy. The opening could take you by surprise as it may come across as some kind of bug spray. Wait for half an hour and you'll get a modernized sweet caramely scent. However, it's still not super modern, so expect a presence of some dated vibe to it. The composition is rich and interesting.
    HR EDP - I liked this one too. Definitely not modern but also not as dated as the EDT.
    HR EDT - dusty, dated, old .... these are associations I get when smelling this. My least favourite from the line.
    And by the way, "Habit" is pronounced without "H" and without "T".

    Like the choices here but my favorite would have to be habit rougue edp. Like the citrusy notes of this mixed in with the rose, leather and cinnamon notes. Bottle looks beautiful as well. I don’t know if anybody in my family has used Guerlain before but if someone did I’d probably try and squeeze a couple of sprays on myself while they weren’t watching. Lol. I’d like to be entered in the giveaway. I’m in New York, USA.

    I'd like to be entered in the giveaway and would prefer the EDP. I have 'leau. It performs wonderfully, but the jasmine is too dominant for me. I have sampled the EDP and liked the long slow transitions it takes you on. Small touch of oud is nice as well.
    Great video! I need to seek out Dress Code.

  • @jonkomatsu8192
    @jonkomatsu8192 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting, the EdP and Dress Code both sound great, especially Dress Code since it veers into gourmand territory.
    The original is nice, but just doesn't sing to me. I get all woods and leather with a hint of rose and oakmoss, and that's pretty much it. No vanilla and sparkly citrus that so many others seem to get! Bummers. Oddly enough, when I wear the original, I always visualize a sophisticated and powerful Catholic Cardinal, wearing Ray Bans, sitting there with a knowing smile on his face. Hmmm....
    Great review. Will check out You Hawk and see what's up. Mille grazie!
