Great video, very informative. To explain why I am here, to potentially help others: My S3 8P started to run rough, poor idle with a hint of a misfire at idle. Checking coils and plugs, I can see oil has made its way out of rocker gasket down plug holes and oil is on plugs and reducing contact to coil packs. But why is this happening? PCV valve has failed, letting high pressure blow by into the head, forcing oil to find a way out of original 2012 rocker gasket, all around the edge and down the spark plug holes. New parts fitted to resolve: - PCV and gasket - Rocker gasket - Coil Packs (x4) - Spark Plugs (x4)
Another great s3 video Danny. Going to check the rocker gasket on mine now lol. Quite nice cars to work on to which is nice. Look forward to the next video mate. Take care.
Cheers Spence. To be honest mate I don't know how that gasket held on as well as it did. It was litrally flat. It wasn't even a bad job to do just male sure you get a new clip for that pipe and you are laughing 😎
After watching your video, I think the next gasket down is the one that's leaking on mine ( valve cover gasket? ) a few drops of oil go onto the inlet manifold over time, so I'm not sure if that's a DIY job as who knows what I might find once I get started lol I'll get the engine cleaned up and then i should be able to what's causing the oil leak!
Hey I have a bit of water coming down from the passenger footwell, looks like the plastic air vent, any chance you can make a video on what that could be
Gallons per mile these Danny....?? these run on like vpower..s-unl 98... ? costs me like 100 squid to fill my mps... Attention to detail is spot on... its why we love you,,,:)(my mum) N x
you seem to be very knowledgeable mate, i have a mk2 cupra r and when i let off the throttle when driving, my rpm needle will bounce up and down a little, doesnt happen when stationary, what could be the issue.
I'm sure it's connected to the throttle body pal yeah. Changed one out on the evo 6 but that was because it kept cutting out until it had warmed up. Danny
@@projectfearn thanks, I was looking at purchasing an 8p s3 now just trying to figure out what it can be, I owned an rs3 8p and recently sold that and bought a c63 amg w204 but I do have a soft spot for the 8p shape and looking to add an s3 8p to the collection soon as an rs3 8p is abit to costly
Nice video Danny, very informative, but boy do you like wasting money. No point in throwing money at Audi on those hardly used parts. If it's working, & no faults with no leaks, then leave it until it needs replacing. These aren't maintenance parts, & would only be replaced by Audi if & when.
I get what you are saying about the money but these will need replacing eventually and I'd rather do it now for peace of mind and know that the car is being maintained and looked after to the best of my ability pal. I'd rather swap out the parts now rather than wait for them to fail plus it adds to the cars already amazing maintenance history. So I can kind of see the money spent as investing in the car should I ever come to sell it 😎
Wasted your money on the diverter valve. The one you need to replace are the earlier ones with a rubber diaphragm that breaks up or gets a hole in it. The one you removed is the revised version and doesn't need to be replaced.
@@projectfearn PCV kit was febi bilstein and DV is vw oe G version. What i miss now? When i clear codes epc light and p0190 fuel rail come back all time.. Not safe to drive now?

Great to see somebody being pro-active with maintenance. 👍
Cheers pal 👍
good job and clear explanation without waste of time. thank you.
Thank you sooo much for sharing all this and doing all the work! I just bought a high mileage A3 and this simplifies so much. You ROCK Projectfearn !
🤣🤣🤣 cheers ✌️
Great video! Recently got an 8p S3 myself so interesting to see these parts being swapped. Subscribed so I can see what else you get up to 👍
Full rear brake renewal next pal. Calipers, carriers, hoses, pipes and clips. Should be getting that done this week 😎 thanks for subscribing pal 👍
Thanks for reply how would I contact you and how busy are you.
Sorry pal I don't work on other peoples cars. This is just a hobby of mine 👍
great video, thank you very much. bought a medium well kept 2007 some time ago and it starts to require some attention. appreciate the tips

Hi Danny, top video on the Audi, great content and interesting to watch what needs replacing.it all helps in the long run.

I sold this car last year pal 🙏

Bring back the Astra GSI I say 🤣🤣great job Danny well done
I do miss that car being sat there you know ha
take your time Danny you sound like your in fast forward.
Haha I know mate. I'll try and chill in the next ones 🤣

Yeah v-powee only mate. Think I get around 280 miles per tank mate. Not sure. 🤣
I thing ,you like to spend your money....
I have exacly the same car.
Thanks for your videos,take more.
I see it more as an investment mate. Rather than waiting for things to go wrong I'd rather catch them before hand if that makes sense pal 😎

Could be a few things mate. Spark plug, bad sensor or Idle speed control valve. Danny 👍
@@projectfearn changed plugs bud, not solved the issue, is the idle speed control apart of the throttle body? its not giving me any fault codes.
I'm sure it's connected to the throttle body pal yeah. Changed one out on the evo 6 but that was because it kept cutting out until it had warmed up. Danny
Great video I’m looking at one these right now sport hatch. Where you based would love you do this job for me.
I'm based in Bolton pal 👍
Is boost leak another common problem, as I saw one for sale and the owner said its a common problem
I think alot of turbo cars suffer from boost leaks mate especially as they get older in age etc 😎

Would love a c63 pal but still a bit pricey for me. Sold my s3 last week 😎
Hi
To get this parts replaced what’s the cost for fittings,
Not a clue as I fitted them myself 🙏
because Hitachi makes the fuel pump for this engine the best aftermarket :) is Hitachi cam follower.
That's good to know mate :)
is the eBay part good as OEM?
I always prefer to either buy genuine or oem. I've had hit and miss with ebay parts 😎
Can you watch my S3 boostleak video. Is that normal or what is the problem..😫
Good video
Cheers Peter. ✌️
What was up with the high pressure fuel pump
The tappets wear and damage the cam :)
do you have a video on how to do the cam timing chain?
I dont pal sorry. 😎
I’m just about to do mine, might make a video of that myself 👍🏼
Tell us what part is from where
They are all from Audi 😎

To the side of the pump next to the battery what is that leaking oil? Mine is also wet with oil.

I change pcv valve kit and dv to S3 8p. Now i have epc light on and p0190 fuel rail and p0343 camshaft position sensor error codes. Wtf? 🥹
Have you used genuine parts?

I can't see how those two parts have affected the car. You may have to take it to a garage 👍
Have you got any corroded wire or knocked the fuel pressure sensor?
@@projectfearn did you know what electrical connector talks both fuel rail and camshaft sensor? I dont have before anu problems with it..
