Thank you for this video. I'm a 20 yr mechanic that moved into an Admin Assistant position with 0 experience after 15 No's. This has been great experience in the administrative side of a medium sized business. Im glad my hubby pushed me to apply.
With 22 years of experience as Admin professional i can say that Admin Assistant is a good role to gain experience but its not a career! There is hardly any chance of career growth or changing careers! Many new graduates are given the job and experienced guys with 10+ years of experience dont have chances of growth! If u want to grow select a career which is a stream/sector like Procurement, IT Admin or Sales and Marketing coordinator after few years of experience you can grow easily
Hi bro , just need bit of your help regarding administrative assistant, what I need to know as a administrator assistant to succeed? I have no experience of administrative assistant, how do I get a job in this role ? Where do I look for ? Do they take someone without experience and train ? Plz bro advise. I want to get job in this role and learn
@@humblesouls1594 Hi - There are bunch of knowledge based things required to convince the employer during interview. First is Certifications - get a Administration Professional Certification, in many countries it helps to get noticed by employer. Then, If you really want to stand out of so many Job seekers Get a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification as well. These 2 certifications are basic requirement these days and can give you good edge over other candidates. Along with certifications, You must read and gain knowledge about how Admin dept works in sectors you are applying job for thats business science knowledge. Admin in real estate is different from Admin in a Media company or in health care or automobiles etc These r main areas to focus to help you crack the interview. Try to get a part time job or volunteer for few months in jobs you are looking for then write this in your CV under experience. Prepare a simple good CV And remember a good CV is ticket to interview and a good interview is ticket to Job. A good interview will be when u have business knowledge of job u have applied for backed up by some Certifications which confirms you have knowledge of business communication, reporting etc I too look for new courses and try to add certificates even if its a small course. Once u r successful in Admin try to get certified in procurement or finance or supply chain there is no growth in Admin jobs until you extend your area of knowledge. Good Luck!
If there is something else you want to do besides an Admin role, then it would be good to do some courses and then apply outside the company for a role you want to do. It isn’t very often that a company will hire you for another position because they may not have any vacancies for that role.
thank you for this video 🙏🏻, I am hired as an admin assistant and I'm a little nervous and overwhelmed since this is my first job ever and I really need this useful information thank you very much ❤

That is a very open ended question. Do you have experience in admin? Learn as much as you can about certain software like excel, word, PowerPoint, Outlook and then start applying.
Hi. This Vedio is really helpful who wants to become Administrative Assistant. I have a question even if I study as a administrative assistant can I apply for virtual assistant job? Can administrative assistant work as a virtual assistant?
Yes they certainly can... I did it for a time, personally I didn't enjoy it but there are a lot of people that do. This is my video about being a virtual assistant that might help you make a decision. th-cam.com/video/H3SarQ029y8/w-d-xo.html
Ok. I am not going to do any business for my own. I will apply for company who will need virtual assistance. Is that okhey? Will I get a same role as a administrative assistant? Because I really wanted to work from home and being able to with my kids. Thank you so much!!!
Hello Kati, what I would say is go to a community college and study for a business admin certificate. There are a lot of scammy type courses out there that don't teach you very much but happy to take your money. If you don't want a certification, then I would recommend doing short courses on skillshare.com ie. time management, excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft word, time management etc and they give you a certificate for each course you complete. It is a monthly subscription, so when you are done with the courses you want to learn, then you can cancel your monthly subscription. And of course, don't forget that TH-cam is a great place to learn... I have a number of videos if you want to watch them and I keep it real. You can pick and choose what works for you from each video. Not one size fits all. Thanks for your comment.
It honestly depends on the experience you have had in your admin roles. Some EA’s have lead projects so they go into the Project Management side of things, other EAs go into the Marketing / Events areas. It really depends on what you have done and where your interests are.
I am a graduate student in bachelor's of management studies in marketing specialision, and i am fresher as well. Could someone please tell me in which job field I should apply as i dont have experience and knowledge about the office world
What is it you want to do? Apply for anything that requires your skills and you are passionate about. Have confidence and don’t worry if you don’t have 100% of the job description, just keep trying.
That’s something that only you can answer. I love being an Executive / Admin Assistant and some don’t. For me, I think it’s worth it… it’s very frustrating at times but it’s still worth it for me :)
When you come in at the last minute and order coffee! Donuts, and muffins for 50 people without calling ahead, you show how incompetent and inconsiderate you are. If you come through the drive thru, you’re the equivalent of a donkey with long ears. Call ahead. Even if it’s a last minute meeting, call and place an order. Even the driving time can be a significant help.
If you are told that morning to get the donuts and muffins for 50 people… that doesn’t make you a donkey and no one is ever a donkey… people are not infallible. You have no time to call ahead if you are asked to get them on the spot. Caterers need a couple of days to organise food.
I hope this is sarcastic. Administrative Assistants aren't interns and aren't servants! Be thankful they're getting you food. Otherwise, you can get it yourself.
