Diane, I could watch you paint and listen to you all day long! You've been my favorite teacher for years now and I'm so very happy I have you tutorials to look forward to. Thank you for all you and Tamsin do to make lives happier. xo
Always like your birds & these are no exception…sometimes when I get new set of colours I use an inexpensive porcelain white plate, platter etc.or similar as another palette ..a have a few🙂
These are lovely little birds and have given me an idea. I'm just starting to paint, belatedly, some Valentine's Day cards and I thought the first turquoise bird you painted looked as though it was going to sing. I imagined notes floating up from it's beak and then, tiny hearts mixing with them. So here I go... Happy Valentine's Day for tomorrow!
Thank you Diane. I love your birds so much! I would never paint birds until I watched your videos. I really enjoy doing them now and they make lovely cards. It is so relaxing and fun cos you never know quite how your birds will end up! 😊
I always feel so awkward when I paint Birds... and yet when i follow along with you the always turn out great. ❤ practice practice practice. What a great tutorial. ❤
Love this. So cute and fun. I'm from California and yes we had rain! It is going to rain again this weekend. I will welcome it! After a 21 year drought we should dance in the rain.
I didn’t feel like painting today, running a little temperature so watching you paint the lovely birds has cheered me up a bit. Maybe tomorrow will be better!
These birdies are precious! The colors are so pretty too! Thanks Diane for another great video and for teaching good watercolor techniques! Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank-you Diane 💯 👏 I like old black and white movies also..and when I paint with your its always relaxing and I actually paint a pic..Thank-you so much it's always a joy and relaxing experience ❤🎉❤🎉
I love these birds! I'll watch again and follow in my new art journal. I've come from a lifetime of diaries, then junk journals a few years ago, now art journals. So thanks for this! You make me laugh, I so enjoy your musings. On topic of words in paintig, one that makes my eyes roll is 'values' when they mean tones and shades. Arghh. Btw, I reckon you know what you're doing, other people with 'suggestions' need to look more closely themselves! Thanks for introducing me painting birds. Yellow Hammers arrived yesterday...hmmm Mags, new follower in Northumberland (incomer from Oxfordshire 😊)
Hi Margaret and welcome to the channel! So glad you found us and that you are enjoying the content! You sound a lot like me - for years I kept a daily journal and then one day I realised it was never going to be worth anything to anyone, so I stopped and started to paint - I’ve made a couple of junk journals and now of course all my work is in sketchbooks and videos! Love that you are living in Northumberland, such a beautiful county, I always loved the accent of the locals too, couldn’t really understand them! Thanks for your comment and I look forward t o hearing from you again, best wishes, Diane (illegal immigrant in France lol)
We have been getting rain here in southern California! Quite a lot by our standards - unfortunately, when it all comes at once like this, is mostly just makes a mess and runs off into the ocean. It will do a bit to help the drought, however.
I love your commentary. This is so pretty. I spent several hours working on my own version this afternoon. I'll finish it tomorrow. You have so many good ideas!! Thank you.
My 289 th. Birds Al over the place. Very liberating. You painted eight in an afternoon. I took two lessons of 2.5 hours each with my teacher to paint just one 😂😂😂. By the way, I painted for her your little mouses , but even on paper she couldn't face her fear for mouse. So now I use one half as a bookmark, and the other half I gave away. Thanks for Al your responses, But don't feel obliged to answer Al of my comments. A smiley or so to make TH-cam happy is okay. Thanks for keeping up the spirit and again thanks for your response of the funeral story. I appreciate your open honest reaction very much.❤wim😊
I enjoyed this tutorial and actually I love them all. Your wonderful talent and knowledge. Your kind spirit and insights are all so inspiring ❤️ Thank you ❣️
Diane I love all your little birds. This was a great tutorial and I can't wait to try it. It has that fun colorful folk art look but more relaxed. Btw thanks for all the tips throughout, they are always such a big help! I hope you realize how much. Thanks so much once again❤️❌️⭕️
I absolutely adore your bird paintings. I am very partial to birds and love the whimsical way in which you do them. I would also like to try making them a BIT more realistic...not REAL realistic, but truer to the colors of wrens, chicadees, woodpeckers, etc. Have you any interest in giving a go at something like that?
Diane….. I’m loving your tutorials🌻. I purchased a Paul Ruben set last year when I was beginning to learn. It does not include an Alizarin Crimson - wonder if yours does? What is a good alternative? Thanks!
You remember when all computers and their peripherals only came in the "old plastic" color? Brand new items came looking tobacco tar stained. Awful. I have such trouble on where to place birds' legs. I need to try testing them on tracing paper first. I won a drawing contest in the second grade, and could still give a fair percentage of 8-year-olds decent competition.
Diane, I just love you! You always make me smile and giggle when I am listening to you. Please don’t ever ever change! 😘
Diane, I could watch you paint and listen to you all day long! You've been my favorite teacher for years now and I'm so very happy I have you tutorials to look forward to. Thank you for all you and Tamsin do to make lives happier. xo
Totally agree

Always an enjoyable conversation and fun painting. Thank you, Diane 🎨
Love to watch your videos and hear what you have to say about painting and life! I ❤

That is a great idea! I might copy that. Thanks for the tip.
I love this so much. Just fun!!
Thank you Diane. I love your birds so much! I would never paint birds until I watched your videos. I really enjoy doing them now and they make lovely cards. It is so relaxing and fun cos you never know quite how your birds will end up! 😊

Thank you for making painting fun!
Love the whimsy of your birds Diane, along with your conversation about whatever comes into your head. ♥️
Love this. So cute and fun. I'm from California and yes we had rain! It is going to rain again this weekend. I will welcome it! After a 21 year drought we should dance in the rain.
In my 7th decade and still LOVE to dance in the rain!
I didn’t feel like painting today, running a little temperature so watching you paint the lovely birds has cheered me up a bit. Maybe tomorrow will be better!
Love your birds and that you point out to us details like the placement of feet and eyes…it makes a huge difference!😊
The birds are so cute! I had fun painting them, but I do need more practice. Thank you!
My cat Lulu was so fascinated as you painted the birds. I had to move her out of the way several times so I could watch.
Love these little birds!

The "broken wash" really adds to the cohesive and finished look. It cancels out the collage look, as you said. This is fun and appealing!
I missed your birds! 💕
So whimsical, I love those colors 🤩
I love your little birds.. their colors make one happy.
Adding black to a deep green gives me a color close to perylene green which is a blackish green. Saves money for more paper!
Such fun cute birds 😊 thank you
My new favorite! My last favorite was the ‘sketch’ whimsical landscape using Vivida paint in your sketchbook. Love those vivid colors!
I love all of your different birds, you can paint them in so many styles and they're all terrific!
So relaxing to watch you paint this🥰
I love the yellow bird with the little crest. He’s so cute.
You make it look so easy! I love your videos. It’s like hanging out with a very talented friend!

Enjoyed this one so much. Came across "l'art pour l'art" today and thought of you.
Thank you!
Love the birds!❤

have you ever used salt on the backside of the birds?
🧡💛🐦💚💙💜😻
Diane…..
I’m loving your tutorials🌻.

Thanks!
In my set, I have got Quinacridone red, which I think is similar to Alizarin Crimson ❤️
@@DianeAntoneStudio thank you!
There's a movie on TH-cam called Mary Shelly. It's very good into why she ended up writing Frankenstein. Just a fyi

Yes, that’s a good point, I’d forgotten about that! And don’t worry, I’m sure you would still win the same competition! Hands down!
