I'm from Vermont, USA. Im a retired Naturalist/Teacher of Biology, and former Zoo and Aquarium curator. I've written 3 books on marine creatures and the ecosystems they inhabit.
Cowries and Cones are my favorite groups of shells. I'm envious of the diversity of Cowries that you can find in Queensland. Bucket list trip for me possibly, one day..
Cowries are my favourite shell. In fact, when I lived on a sailboat, my dog's name was Cowrie. She had a macrame collar into which I had knotted a cowrie shell. I love the grape cowrie! I found many cowries in Mozambique and Panama. I live in Toronto, Canada, now.
I could sit and play in those piles all day! Very rare to find anything other than clam shells in Alaska. I loved everything you found!

Im from New Jersey USA, I never find twirly shells like conchs, turbos even pheasants, cowries and Mitras and those are exactly what I’d freak over… i only ever find clams, mussels, scallops (small though, I’d love to find a king scallop) jingles and razor (finger nail) shells. If I ever walked on to any beach in my lifetime and saw a shell pile like the ones in todays video I’d probably pass out hahahah 😂😂😂😂

2:49 Oh my gosh I really like the grape Cowry, I have a Tigres Cowry I bought it at the market in San Diego, California two years ago, then I have two of them, the grape Cowry shell looks gorgeous lovely. I tried to find another Cowry shell in Jamaica 🇯🇲 but looks to me that Jamaica doesn’t have some, but I didn’t realize there were some in Australia 🇦🇺, I never been to Australia before. P.S. I love your seashells their really pretty 🤩/thank you for taking me another adventure of finding seashells. Also did you ever find a Queen Conch seashell before in Australia?

i found that pink striped like bubbel kinda thing 3x the zize of thay years ago at creascent head beach i had no idea what it was and carried it on my paddle board back to the beach and then the shark alam went of hahaha! then i lost it fro 5 months and found it in my draw so that thing is a trooper and its perfect nodition no cracks or chips
