As a Welsh speaker, Maxine’s translations for Rob & Ryan on WTW have given me many a giggle. All credit to the guys for making an effort to learn some Welsh though, it means a lot. Long may the R & R effect continue for Wrecsam and for Wales 🏴
Maxine Hughes: Everybody's new TV crush! Loving this sultry look! And she was great in WTW S1! Played the straight role to Rob n Ryans jokeyness brilliantly! She better be in S2! 👍👏😍
Maxine was one of highlights of WTW S1 for me! Brilliant casting, a Journalist too! Who knew? I thought she was a professional translator/Welsh chef! Well played Maxine! 🤣👏❤
I grew up in Wrexham and she's spot on when she says the towns had it hard. Child poverty, drug abuse and violence. Friday night was called Fight Night back when I was a kid. Its hard to believe whats happening now. I keep pinching myself. The energy these two stars have brought to the town is truly amazing. Yes it still has its problems but there's a real hope that things might change for the better. 🤞
I lived there for a year around '95. I thought it was a nice place back then but like many towns the shopping area seems to have suffered immensely in the past 20 years. Bangor and Holyhead were bustling shopping towns when I was growing up. Both are now dead.
I was genuinely flabbergasted how well she did in a comedy sketch with 2 men who are more than comfortable in comedy but having said that if you're educated in a Welsh speaking school like Maxine and I were you're expected to perform in Eisteddfods wether it be singing or dramatic reading so it's kind of instilled in you from a very early age to never fear the stage
Was it mentioned in one episode of Welcome to Wrexham? That one where she teaches them how to cook? I think that may have been where I found out and I was equally surprised.
MY WIFE AND ARE ARE COMING OVER FROM CANADA AT THE END OF SEPT 2023 CANT WAIT TO SEE WREXHAM PLAY IN PERSON THIS SEPT 2023 !!! NOW WE JUST NEED TO GET TICKETS 🤩❤🏆 KEVIN FROM CANADA !!!
its amazing to think how poor wales and the welsh profile is thanks to the british establishment, but thanks to a canadien and an american wales finally gets some posative coverage and rightfully so as a country. thankyou rob and ryan
Quite disturbing when putting the CC's on (for I have to rely on them sometimes) to see "Wrexham" or "wrecsam" translated into "rectum" one in three times.
R & R have become Ambassadors for Wrexham and Wales, its amazing watching from New Zealand

Maxine is very talented. Her comedic timing is perfect. I hope she’s in several more Welcome To Wrexham skits!

@@daviddavies3637 You should try Neath on a Saturday morning, it's like a quiet Sunday evening.
My first introduction to Wales was the show Hinterland and I've loved ever since

Maxine great to have you representing Cymru 🏴
Wow. I didn't realize she was a journalist. Based on her delivery, I thought she was a actress/comedian.😂

@@daviddavies3637 yeah it’s definitely mentioned in the show.
often one and the same. Maxine is one of the good guys though

What a class lady.
I’m American with Welsh ancestry so this show interested me. And is way more interesting than Major League Soccer teams.
Yeah, MLS has a long way to go still
What memories. Well done Wrexham.
They couldn't have chosen anyone better than Maxine. Oh and the jealousy dripping of that short chubby bloke was a joy to behold 😂
Well done that girl, so sweet, classy
she's excellent at roasting them lol

Let's hope there's never an episode about pianists in Wrecsam.
Gwych!
Love her ddraig y goch behind her.
Everyone likes the underdog
but Success breeds vile jealous people.
How do you say "She's cute" in Welsh?

Oh the Welsh woman can sing? What a shocker.

Wales has more castles than the rest of Europe...so if your Americans. Or Canadian....and never seen one ....go to the dragon!!!
