Beautiful as always. I wonder what is the average water volume loss due to hard scape. I guess another argument for getting the largest setup you have the space/budget for.
YOU sir are the reason I ended up with a 3gal, 10gal, and Two 20 gal in my SMALL studio apartment 😬 and since my tanks are inspired by your BEYOND Beautiful aquascaping skills, i’ve actually inspired 3 family members into the fish keeping hobby as well ‼️You are such an inspiration! 😩 ONE day I hope I’ll be as good as you lol
Same!! I have 6 nanos 1 20 gallon long and 1 100 gallon all in my little 580sq studio🥴😅.. and im itching for another one, do i really need a dining table? 🤣
@@jayparker96 wow 100 gal?! 😮 I really want a big tank! But I need to resist the urge since this apartment will only be temporary! The moving process with fish tanks is a pain 🍑..I actually don’t have a dining table haha! Just a small foldable table to put on my lap 🙃
Bettas DO love to see another Betta in a SEPARATE clear tank. It can cure their lethargy. I put up paper dividers if they get rambunctious for too long. Also, every night the dividers go up for their sleep-time. In the morning, as I remove the paper dividers, I say "Say hello to your neighbor"! They greet each other and eat their meals as they watch each other. Simply beautiful and happy. USA
Good Morning. Watching your videos has been very helpful and therapeutic for me. I had chemotherapy and a Bone Marrow Transplant 3 years ago. What I enjoyed the most was your interaction with your boys. It reminds me of the way I introduced my children to the hobby. I wish you success but I would like to see how the boys like the new tanks you've created. God's Blessings. Stay Safe. YOU ROCK
Bettas are so smart and inquisitive.... he checks out the entire tank then spots the lily. You can see the look on his face when he sees it and goes straight for it. Excellent camera work, @MD Fish Tanks.
Ok lots are asking...the pump to empty the tank water is external and sits by my sink. It's switched on with a smart plug and just sends the water down the "drain" pipe under the sink usually for a washing machine or dish washer.

Indeed a great one. But isn’t it too small for a Betta? With the substrate, the stones and the lowered water level there’s not much space for the fish 🤔😕
its an external 3500 litre per hour pump Mark. always switched on and then I use a smart plug to control from phone. It then drains under the sink where the washing machine or dishwasher would usually go.

I clicked this video so fast! Was literally JUST thinking how I wanted to do a Peace Lily Aquarium but the logistics at times can be a bit overwhelming. This is fantastic inspiration for me! Thank you!
I just started a Diana Walstad ecotank in my classroom for a betta (siamese fighting fish), 3 mystery snails and 10 blue dream neocaridina. It's a 20 gallon tank so I have plenty of room for the snails and shrimp to breed. And I personally want my snails to populate a bit, so I don't mind putting in a lot of food. I'm not overfeeding, but my little darlings are eating well. (Some of the plants came with a few brown spots, and instead of clipping them I left that alone for the snails and shrimp to feast on, which they've done. I'm going for education, not aesthetics so I like that my students see the little holes in the plants and ask questions about them).
I failed trying to keep aquatic plants in my 2 aquaria back in the early 00s. They always died. I had to use plastic plants. I was great when it came to rock scapes and fish though. I miss my tanks. I wish I had space these days. Your tanks are extraordinarily beautiful

Absolutely beautiful backdrop for a white betta! Gorgeous. I’d never get any work accomplished if that tank was next to my work space, I’d be staring at it all day long. Simply wonderful setup MD!
This is definitely one of my favorite tanks of yours, that hardscape is perfect. I was thinking the same thing about a little man being able to be next to it, it looks like a real cliff!!
Wow This was one of your best set up And The house Plant put the finishing touch on it And Your Beta Seems to enjoy his new home Keep up Them Video's 🎥
You have such great visions for these builds, and you do them so naturally and easily. You're a naughty man, you made me get a peace lily today to make a pathetic attempt at a scape like this, Naughty, naughty man, 😄 👍❤👍
Awesome! I plan to do something very similar with a Fluval Edge that I have just removed the glass lid and plastic surrounds from. Thanks for the inspiration and keep on doing what you do!
OK ok you've talked me into it.. I'm going to give a peace lily a go 🤣 I was expecting moss for some reason but as I love annubias, I'm not disappointed. He is such a pretty betta.
OMG - that Betta is stunningly beautiful!! 😲🤯😍😍 "The Iceman cometh." 🤣🤣 I so want to have a tank again, but at my age, I'm not sure I can manage it. 😔 I'm really enjoying your channel. I've been subscribed for 2 years or so, but I keep coming back to watch this Betta setup. Keep up the great work. See you again soon. 😁😘🤗💖👍👋
i love bladder snails, one of my tanks has a homemade filter that’s basically a hang-on-back filter with a pond foam waterfall with sticks, moss, and pothos growing all over it, and i love how the bladder snails leave the water to hang out on the waterfall
GOSH it's gonna look lovely once those peace lilies start to open up- they'll match your betta! i'm gearing up for my first aquarium tank by watching a buttload of aquascaping videos to tide me over until it's ready for its inhabitants. naturally this has done wonders for my self control :'D. especially because it's an opae ula shrimp tank, which can't take plants or wood because it's a brackish environment, meaning i've already started brewing multiple planted tanks and paludaria in my head lmao.
I love the setup you have with the plants to rest before they are put in a tank, but I do have a question. I see you store them in air with water at the bottom. Why would you not store them fully immersed? Is that harder or cause them to grow too fast?
I agree on the depth of substrate thing, when I was doing my bettas tank it just didn't look right until that space was filled, it works in certain occasions but most the time just do your eyes a favor, fill in that space, or maybe sacrifice a little space and just use more substrate and kinda slope/terraform it in a way you like, I might try that actually
I think the reason it feels better to have that thicker substrate in the foreground is purely a design composition trick. You're working with a framed image like any thumbnail or comic strip sketch- you usually will have thicker line denoting the "ground"- so when you look at a tank it seems more natural to see that grounding line or mass at the bottom of the frame. I hope this makes sense- not trying to write a book, lol. I really love this build, btw! The betta matches the peace lily flowers- it's perfect!

Love the palidarium! Peace Lilly’s are so pretty.
You have such great visions for these builds, and you do them so naturally and easily.
You're a naughty man, you made me get a peace lily today to make a pathetic attempt at a scape like this,
Naughty, naughty man, 😄
👍❤👍
Absolutely breathtaking scenery! 😍🐟🌱🌿
He looks amazing in that tank!
Awesome! I plan to do something very similar with a Fluval Edge that I have just removed the glass lid and plastic surrounds from. Thanks for the inspiration and keep on doing what you do!
It's the most beautiful tank I've seen so far! Definitely an inspiration for my future betta home! :D
One of my favorite scapes - beautifully done!
I like Your attention to the details in the process of creating beautiful things.
OK ok you've talked me into it.. I'm going to give a peace lily a go 🤣 I was expecting moss for some reason but as I love annubias, I'm not disappointed. He is such a pretty betta.
I was going to go moss Catherine, but i know I'll leave it and it will take over. I want this to be a really slow grower.
@@MDFishTanks MD the moss whisper 🤣most of us don't have the same problem. Yours just grows bonkers lol
It looks amazing. Plus he’s beautifully. I love it.
Beautiful little realm he's got there, the white one.
Omg I love you and your work!! Your videos are informative, inspiring, and entertaining! Thank you so much!
Gorgeous tank & I really, really LOVE that betta !!!
I think this is my favorite tank. It is beautiful..
18:09 That was actually a good impression. It fooled me for a sec 🙂
Looks amazing! You are one of the best fishtubers no questions asked. You always have something new going on, love that!
Beautiful! Appreciate your scapes so much! And these absolutely best videos (lighting, music, just right pace) THANKYOU
You are such an artist !All the best from cologne germany. This is my absolute favorite tank.I will try to build this!Thank you for inspration!
Yes md just yes. Its going to be an awesome day when I get the right set up to house a betta.
Awesome build video. On to the next one old chum
“Look at you! Look at chew!” Bless
Where is Timmy!? Haven't seen that adorable thing in ages 🤣👍
i love bladder snails, one of my tanks has a homemade filter that’s basically a hang-on-back filter with a pond foam waterfall with sticks, moss, and pothos growing all over it, and i love how the bladder snails leave the water to hang out on the waterfall
I love all your tanks, but this one has become my favourite.
