  • This video shows the 12 basic strikes (angles of attack & targets), along with the 12 corresponding blocks. These were taught to me by SGM Cacoy Canete of Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima.

Thank you for posting this. These were the 12 strikes that I learned but for some reason nobody else knew what I was talking about. Long live Cacoy Doce Pares!

I have sought many videos to explain the basics of Eskrima to my martial arts friends who aren't familiar with it. This breaks down the rudiments in a really easy to digest way, with examples of proper form.
Ya all clearly talented, thanks for making this video. If ya all were in the Seattle area, I'd definitely join!
Hope you've been doing well post COVID, and thanks for helping promote my favorite martial art, Eskrima!

Really appreciate this video. My family also train Canoy Canete Doce Pares. Nice to have a quick visual review of the blocks. Sometimes we forget because our training isn't full time due to our Kajukenbo classes.

Nice demo. Very nice. I need to practice this more. Thank you for the review of basics.
P.S. just became a new subscriber. Love traditional Filipino martial arts. And I did practice with arnis stick in my Sikaran martial arts school. Just need to start practicing again.

The Phillipines are thought to have been in the bible the land of ophir.i would like to see how you use a tomahawk in fillipipino martial arts as I have some Yankee blood with a bit of moheghan Amerindian but also mostly a descendant of Rollo gradon the first vikingar king of Normans with some Spanish gitano and real romanichal Irish gypsy heritage

This “90lb women” happens to be my daughter who has over 10 years training and competitive experience in multiple martial arts, including full contact Muay Thai competition and winning the CA state championship in wrestling, finishing undefeated … but I’m sure your “keyboard warrior black belt” trumps hers LOL
