This Haka was in honor of the late Prof Aiau Koa (May 10, 1963 - September 30, 2021). He always performed this Haka at the opening ceremonies for Sijo Emperado’s KSDI Tournament in Las Vegas. Since his passing, his sister GM Kailani Koa of Maui asked myself (Jeff Macalolooy) and Chris Newbury to perform it. I recruited 2 of my black belts: Abraham de Vos & Joey Bautista. I also recruited Lenny ...

I still wonder how to dodge from right to left...
Guys give him some likes😢
Hi master my name is Daniel I'm coming to Chavez karate I shall you teaching older kids🎉
Thanku
Hey, not to be that guy, but scissor "sweep" (aka: simple sweep) is a closed guard sweep. What you two are doing is called scissor "takedown". Scissor takedown is a banned technique in Judo as legs and careers were destroyed by that technique.
thank you for your comment, we are aware ... this is not judo nor wrestling (where the technique is illegal in sport competition), this is Kajukenbo (not for sport) and our students are taught about the potential to blow out someones knee with this technique ... "martial arts" was originally designed for combat, be it war or street, but definitely not for sport, which it has evolved to today ... call it a car, automobile, or vehicle, it's still the same thing ... so, yes, it can be called a scissor takedown and we are aware of the scissor sweep from guard in bjj, but this is not bjj ... if you notice the stomp to the head of a downed opponent at the end of the first technique or the soccer kick by the second student to a downed opponent would be illegal in mma, but this is not mma ... this technique is Kajukenbo ... again, thank you for your comment ... aloha and mahalo
@@DragonsDenMMA I make the technical distinction between "sweep" and "takedown" because there is a difference between a sweep, which a sweep is a reversal of position, whereas a takedown.. "takes your opponent down". The other reason is if you search "scissor sweep" you see an LLC craft store, and underneath that you see BJJ tutorials of how to do the sweep from guard. If you search "scissor takedown" you see what your students are demonstrating. Make whatever "we call the technique this" argument however much you like, if you want people to find accurate Information you have to understand that calling it one thing, when you mean another is rather confusing. That is simply not what people call that technique, as demonstrated by researching the techniques.
Thanks for this video! I need to resurrect this Kata I have long forgotten. I started with Kajukenbo in the 1990s. Unfortunately, I kept moving around and could never find another nearby school or private teacher. I worked on it for a year, learned 3 Kata and have forgotten them. I now remember this one but will have to watch the video to dial it in. I was fortunate to have a Shotokan teacher. An older American who claimed to be 9th Dan and studied with Hirokazu Kanazawa. He didn't believe in belts but after 18 months said I would be equivalent to brown. I didn't really care I just liked doing it. Then I moved to India and there was no one nearby in Bangalore doing Shotokan so I practiced for four years alone. I am noticing similarities between these two styles especially in the stances. My Sifu was Jerry Welden if I recall in Battleground Washington. I remember emphasizing stances but allowing your own body to find what was the most natural and balanced position for your build. My Shotokan Sensei wanted very high precision in stances which was a little frustrating. I never felt like I was flowing like I did with Kajukenbo.
That was awesome! Good to see Kaju ’ohana doing a haka!
Just do Muay Thai instead.
Muay thai is a ring sport This is supposed to be for street hence no off limit targets
Awesome information and i love the history lessons my self. Thank you for sharing Prof. Kaju Forever
cute little outfits they got.
People still do Mcdojo martial arts?
I used to do kajukenbo, but then I found jujitsu. Way more fun for both people. Also, way more realistic. did I mention way more fun
lol
Good luck with that on the street.
You won't need luck the technique dropped people reliably. In the 90s I discovered Master Forbach's tapes. A student of mine I was training in my basement showed up one day and I asked him to practice four techniques I seen the day before on Master Forbach's tapes before going on to our regular curriculum. About a month later he got in an altercation where three people were attacking his friend in the Community College parking lot. One came at him with a punch and he did the technique seen on this video. The dude dropped so fast when he did the follow through punch he hit empty air. He successfully thrashed these guys with a combination of the techniques we'd just practiced once a month ago and the Kung Fu we'd been practicing. I've been incorporating this ever since. Sure as he sun comes up in the sky Forbach has more real world applicable information than all the people that you've trained, assuming you aren't the untrained, ignorant troll you write like.
Where that music ??

Thank you.
The Phillipines are thought to have been in the bible the land of ophir.i would like to see how you use a tomahawk in fillipipino martial arts as I have some Yankee blood with a bit of moheghan Amerindian but also mostly a descendant of Rollo gradon the first vikingar king of Normans with some Spanish gitano and real romanichal Irish gypsy heritage
Are you in Australia? I’m in Brisbane is there anyone here doing that?
California
Nice!
That's awesome!
Hi
Hi
Hi
First I'm seeing one of these, really cool
Good video. Gave me some ideas on new stuff to work on.
alex pereira hook
awesome😍😍😍
😐😐😐
This is a joke right?
I hope it is because it’s funny as hell
That footwork’s literally the ginga from capoeira
lol eww. If anyone wants to know what a real perfect crisp leaping left hook actually looks like. Just look at how Mayweather does it or Mike Tyson. Now that is the correct way of how to do it. 2 different ways to do it by 2 different people who mastered it. Joe Frazier also mastered it but his is old school but still pretty affective. If you do it like he’s done it anyone who knows what they’re doing will see that sht coming. Mayweather does it with no wind up. The perfect example of it was when he fought Diego Corrales. Now that was a beautiful sight to see.
this is a demonstrate. chill out mr.boxing master
I was lucky enough to train with GM Cacoy Canete in three early 2000s. As in 2000, 2001, etc. I am honored to say I was 21 at the time and he was 81. He threw me on my as with some of his escrido stuff. He was the real Yoda lol
this will be helpful every time i’m slow motion freestyle baton dancing with an obese friend in a choreographed slog with long pauses and no intent to do damage. otherwise it’s useless
She has a beautiful voice. Well done

Gazelle hook. Tyson and Frasier were both masters of this punch.
how did he die?
we were told he died peacefully in his sleep; something with his heart
Excellent
I love that.
Thank you for posting this. These were the 12 strikes that I learned but for some reason nobody else knew what I was talking about. Long live Cacoy Doce Pares!
That's basically a Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson and David Tua left hook. I love it!!
🤔
When I do that, my boxe coach tells me to not jump. But to move one leg after an other (but to do it fast) Otherwise there's a risk to be punched while not touching the ground, and to be more vulnerable. But I'm curious to hear different opinions about this topic. Because I feel really comfortable doing this little jump.
Put it this way - If you get caught clean with a straight right while closing the gap it won't matter if you're in midair or not. If you feel comfortable delivering power by doing a little jump to clear the distance, that's fine - just make sure your lead foot hits the ground and is planted a split second before your hook lands, or you will lose a lot of power. Further, never open with something like this from range - feint first and/or throw a front kick or a couple jabs at longest possible contact range to check your opponent's reaction and guard - if he takes the punches on his guard or steps back then you know you can move in, but you really need to close that gap as quickly as physically possible with no hesitation at that point - it's dangerous either way, but it's an excellent way to catch the opponent off-guard - just make sure he's actually off-guard and not merely waiting to counter you on the entry with a simple straight punch.
@@Quoxozist wow ! Thanks for the details and quality answer. Highly appreciated. And it connects with my recent works. I use to jump from long distance to close-distance and of course to get caught on my way. Now I do it with an other step. Exemple : 1 - Feint jab (long distance) 2 - move forward and slip (mid distance) 3 - jump + punch (I land at close distance) 4 - stay close and use my small size at advantage In you explaination you distract from long distance, and ONLY if it works (the opponent blocks or step back) you take the risk of a jump to go from distance to close. That's something I will try. Thanks !
