Why the capacitor? I have little idea about what capacitor does in this case. Once I used a 7.4v Li-ion battery to run a WPL C14 RTR (Stock Receiver and Stock Motor). It ran for a moment. But later the Receiver got damaged. Like the Steering Channel started to stutter and finally not working any more but Forward and Backward channel was working.
FIY I am talking about the built-in Receiver that come with the WPL RTR version. And I'm talking about the receiver channel. There was nothing wrong with motor or anything else.

The capacitor works like a toilet tank, it reserves power until a power dump is needed but keeps everything flowing evenly. Like the large ones in car stereo systems.
