Thanks Tomo! Takanaka san has a close connection to Brazil. In 78 he recorded Brasilian Skies in Rio de Janeiro, full of incluences of Brazilian music mixed with his guitar style. 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Takanaka-San is the all time guitar player. There are the GOATs like Hendrix and Page but Takanaka pours his soul into his playing almost like i can feel him speaking.
The timing on this video is crazy, I have been listening to this song in particular a ton lately. All of his music is so inspiring though, listening to takanaka makes me want to play more than any other artist
i 100% agree listen to masayoshi all day at work then i come home and jam till i fall asleep, even just improvising over any of his songs is endless fun, he makes jazz so happy fun and pretty all at the sametime without forgetting to jazz it up
Thank you Tomo for this lesson. I'm not to the level of being able to transpose yet but as my ear training gets better I'll get there. Your lessons are elevating my skills so far beyond my previous teachers abilities. I am so grateful for all the work you are doing to help me become a better musician and guitar player.

thank you so much Mr. Fujita! I have commented in one of your videos that it would be incredible if you made a video about Masayoshi Takanaka, he is for sure one of my favorite guitar players, and made me fall in love with 80s japanese music! as a brazilian i love the fact that Mr. Takanaka uses a lot of brazilian music in his songs, such a creative way to use samba and bossa nova into his own style!

Saw Takana's Rainbow Goblins concert on video in the mid 80s I think. Have been a fan ever since. I still watch it. Great guitar playing and story telling. I'm sure he inspired a lot of guitar players. Thank you for going over one of his songs.
Thanks again, Tomo, for sharing this music that is new to me. I am liking it a lot, almost too much that I want to put the guitar in its stand and dance for a while...
Thanks for this! Love Takanaka! I had Rainbow Goblin Story concert on laser disk. Jorge Santana covered Seychelles which got me to dig deeper into Takanaka music. So glad you did this video. Please do more on Masayoshi ❤❤❤.

Please consider it… thanks :) Also thank you for sharing your knowledge with those who love playing guitar like myself :)
the instrument that you mention in 18:16 is called a quijada! it's literally a donkey's jaw bone, very popular here in south america (the one used in this song is probably a vibraslap though, same thing, but made of wood and metal instead of donkey)
