This song is truly a Mystical experience and to imagine that if we existed without the internet these gems wouldn't be within our grasp... MAN WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brasil + Japan = Best music u could ever hear
@@MongolZLi swear to god honesty
the JP Bossa Nova scene is absolutely insane too
My favorite project from that genre is shibayan records' Toho Bossa Nova 1
This guy is still performing, I am going to Japan next year and my goal is to go to one of his amazing performaces!
I'm aiming to do that next year, I'm hoping its not too difficult to book tickets
Surfboard guitar and a smile
been having a hard week, coming back and seeing that smile helps me alot
I really appreciate the dozen or so middle aged guys jamming like middle school girls in the front without shame
A Japanese guitarist playing a Brazilian Samba melody, with insane guitar solos as if it were Rock and Roll added with Japanese Jazz and Pop music in the middle of the Taji Mahal in India, I love the globalization!
I was having an anxiety attack. Really bad, like I felt like I was dying. I accidentally touched my phone screen, which was connected to the tv in front of my bed, and this started playing. And as I was listening, and watching these people, smiling and having a great time, I realized that I was breathing, and slowly feeling better. And then I was smiling with them, and moving to the music. I feel so much better right now. It’s amazing.
this man rly pulled up wit a surf board, wut a legend
Something about Japanese keyboard music is pure magic
Pretty nostalgic and sad.
Takanaka is the embodiment of 'good vibes'. Always in such a good mood. I'm feeling quite Takanakaish today!
What’s is the name of this song I have had the pleasure of listening to
@@wanderer803 Its just called Taj Mahal, although the version that isn't live is super different. Still amazing though. He's got tons of absolute bops
I was having a very hard day today, and I was listening to the record version of this. It made me cry man, and I'm not a crier. This song just makes you really feel the beauty of life, and the way he paints this picture of sounds just hits me in a way music doesn't often do.
Dude, I came across this video randomly when TH-cam auto-played one time while my wife and I were watching videos, and it blew me away. I ended up looking up the rest of the set, and this entire 2008 show is phenomenal and I'm totally enthralled and amazed by it. I don't even really dig instrumental music - but the expertise in the art is undeniable.
what made you watch and finish the video when you watched it for the first time?
@@_mariko791 If I recall, I was having a conversation with my Wife and we sort of just let it play - but the Cuica (the instrument that kind of sounds like a monkey hooting or a squeaking noise) caught my attention, because I heard that instrument all over the soundtrack for Mario Sunshine. And as the video played my wife and I were both like, "wow this sounds like something straight out of Mario Sunshine" lolol. Very tropical feeling. It felt like the track was leading up to something too - so we watched in anticipation and what do you know, some dude with a surfboard guitar walked out from nowhere and I was amazed. 😂
Takanaka is one of the most amazing musicians that ever existed.....hat's off to the Man with the guitar!
alright youtube, it took me a few years to click on the video with the guy playing a surf-tar but i finally did it, and it's beautiful. And you know what? I did it at precisely the right time what a heavenly set.
from about 3:49 to 4:20 ish is the sound for my alarm clock every morning.
i’ve heard people say “don’t put your favourite song as an alarm because you’ll ruin it for yourself”
but even when i’m waking up hungover, knowing that only my morning shit, 1 mcdonalds breakfast stop and a 10 minute drive stand in between me in my cozy hotel bed and me climbing a shitty cold cell tower 300ft up i still get up so happy every day because of this song. it still remains my favourite so everyone else was just buggin
Nunca vou tankar o cara entrando com uma guitarra de prancha de surfe e o maior sorrisão no rosto fodase deus abençoe como eh bom estar vivo
Hello, I'm from Chile and lately I've been feeling a little sad, but this song has been keeping me going. This song is magic and really pure. Bless my ears❤️🙌🇯🇵🇨🇱
Deberias escuchar su discografía en lo personal el Takanaka y Brasilian skies son grandes albumes, aunque creo que toda su discografía cabe ahi xd
Keep it up man!!! I know you may feel sad now, but its just temporarily!!! Love you man :)
@@Revolver.Otacon thanks bro :]
Takanaka's music can only portray the image that he's a good guy who wants to share his tunes with the world
This makes me so happy as a brazilian, i feel ashamed to never have listened to this, its incredible how well he could represent brazil as a whole on a song, the happyness, the sudden rhytmn changes and new instruments throughout the song, OBRIGADO❤️
brazilian music is something else
i absolutely love the grooves and good vibes
kinda ironic when my favorite song from brazil is ipanema
Por mais que esse país ta cheio de problemas, eu fico muito feliz quando temos reconhecimento de fora. Obrigado pelo carinho Takanaka!
I love this concert. Not only Takanaka has a childish emotion of happiness, everyone from here and there feels the same. I love you, we love you.
AND WE LOVE YOU, MATE 🗣🔥🔥🔥
The ending arc where they just go around showcasing solos was so fantastic oh my god
As a brazilian enjoying his music, this feels odd! Japanese samba played on a guitar surfboard... and it's good!
Everyone is talking about Masayoshi Takanaka's ridiculous guitar skills, and rightfully so, but can we also take a moment to appreciate the guy playing what looks like two pianos at once?
It's common though..
Keyboards: Hiroyuki Namba (9:21), Makoto Aoyagi (7:46)
(Taken from Jack's comment)
Keyboardists rarely play a single keyboard. Here he has an organ and two synths.
Hate to be that guy, but it's extremely common. Most organ/synth players I've played with usually have a minimum of 2, usually 3
How about the dude playing 10 drums at once? Living every moment
When a Japanese Ojii-san came up to the stage playing surf-guitar and 4:02 his hair went blown away by his own coolness, you know it's mood.
6:34 this is my favorite part because everyone's having fun and singing, and it makes me feel so at home. I'm so happy I discovered Takanaka so much.
Considering this is live the sound production is amazing
every time I think Takanaka is awesome he just pulls out a surfboard guitar and makes me love him even more
This man is living the absolute best life one can live with a surf board guitar
Cringe
外国からのコメント多数で高中正義ファンとしてとても嬉しい限りです!
Takanaka makes good music after all :D
This song is so beautiful it often moves me to tears
It is a blessing to live on the same earth as all of you, as well as Takanaka himself! I love you all.

@@malikpinckney9171there are two songs being played in this video. “Beleza Pula” (sic) by Masayoshi Takanaka and “Taj Mahal” by Jorge Ben Jor

Man i gotta tell you I’ve been feeling soulless and apathetic for a bit but after coming across .. seeing him come out with his surfboard guitar brings joy to my soul , I feel again .
Listen to Jorge Ben Jor since this piece is his music later used by Mr. Takanaka and contributed some portion to his song
Man.. same. This whole song is just so happy and makes me feel so intense. Fusion jazz just has this way of making you feel what you want to feel.
No cellphones, just people enjoying good music
