    Well this just in. Apparently this is NOT USA Made.
    It’s produced from their normal oem (that they don’t disclose) but it was sold through their USA distributor 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️

    I understand that a company called “Concepts” made the 20 USA versions. Misgards-Messer made 200 of these and there sold by “Lamnia”…I’m fortunate to have purchased 2 of the Swedish made ones and absolutely love them. They do come with a case hardened steel pin for locking it open or closed. I’ve bat-toned with mine and it’s an extremely stout knife. It has been my edc for awhile and it has handled everything without loosing even the slightest edge. Everyone who sees it in public loves it. I’m used to carrying heavy knives so it’s weight is no big deal. But I do understand that it’s nit something for everyone, but it is definitely my type of blade. Great video!

    Honestly I think it's a great knife. Fidgeting with it is fun if you use multiple fingers in the fuller and a bit of wrist flick. The cutting geometry is pretty great considering the blade stock thickness. As far as the USA logo it was hand engraved by Dirk Hoffmeister specifically for the US distributor as an exclusive run for them and while it isn't made in the US at least to my eyes and hands the fit and finish is better than many US made knives so I'm good with that. Overall I'm a fan, is it heavy? Oh yeah but to quote one of my favorite books "the sword is as heavy as it needs to be to make you stronger"...carried for a few days and I stopped noticing the weight so much. Plus, it's a great convo piece

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m totally okay with the knife. I take issue with it being marked USA. Never heard of anyone marking it USA because it was SOLD here….that’s crossing a line.

    • @Rollshambo
      @Rollshambo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Dirk Werning there's actually a surprising amount of knives marked with the USA brand that aren't made here, I get it though it's just not something I've ever put much stock in

    MM folders are manufactured Kansept knives. The 20 knives with the USA logo are the first knives distributed by the newly started USA branch that will start with distribution and later manufacturing in the USA. I personally like the knife. I didnt like 3D printed stuff at all but carrying a knife that big is much better with the holster.

    I wish it was made here. I’ve appreciated all the Migards I have handled and owned but non remain🤷‍♂️. They can’t all be keepers right.

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed they cannot all be keepers.
      The fact that they tried to ‘trick’ the public into thinking it’s made here sort of kisses me off honestly.

    A lot of confusion for nothing. The three letters USA alone mean nothing in Europe, unless they are linked to "Made" or "Made in". All knives for Midgards from China are individually checked and lasered in Germany. The batch of the first knives for the USA was specially treated and therefore additionally marked - this was actually intended by Dirk as a "thank you" for his American customers. No bad thoughts, no deception, no tricks. Life can be so easy . . .
    In his videos, Dirk always points out that the folders are manufactured in China or now also in Italy. On the German store pages it is also stated on almost every folder. Dirk hasn't been doing all this for very long, and he doesn't speak much English. I think sometimes it's all a bit much for him - but he certainly doesn't want to cheat.
    And no, I don't work for Midgard's Knives. I'm just an old white man who has been collecting knives since 1965. 🔪
    Sry for my lousy English......
