So, listening and watching the video and then reading the comments... I just want to say that I have had the worst trouble trying to clean my home. Or for that matter just keep my home clean. And my name is Melissa but I can't tell you how many times people would hear Martha(Michelle too... But we'll save that for later)... And during a Bible study one evening, it was mentioned about Martha and Mary and how Martha was worried about cleaning the house and Mary was at Jesus's feet. When Martha confronted Jesus, Jesus said that that's where Mary was supposed to be. Also, I remember recently hearing about how Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament. And then hearing you talk about cleanliness in the home... It made me think about cleanliness... Spiritual cleanliness. I like how you put your attention on serving the lord while cleaning your home... And I think that's where many of us have failed. You see, even though I have a servant's heart, I grew up being up people pleaser. I'm forever trying to meet the expectations of everyone else around me. The spirits are real. The attacks are real. And not centering our focus on God explains so much. My centered focus was not on God while cleaning my home. But rather I'm pleasing others. Perhaps that is what it means to be a Martha instead of to be a Mary. Martha was centered around the pleasing idea of a host whereas Mary centered her focus on the Lord and wished to be where he was. I can't tell you how many times I cried over not being able to keep my house clean. With ADHD and anxiety and depression... on top of some recent health issues I had over the last year... I didn't even have the energy to clean. I felt like all I was doing was just washing dishes... it took me forever. God is really doing a work on me and in me. Spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I'm really grateful that I can actually do more now. And recently I'm working on decluttering and adopting a bit more of a minimalist living. And it's a long process. And a lot of people believe minimalism is living without anything but really it's more like minimizing the things that you don't need and the things that don't help your life function. I appreciate your message, your video, the time you took to share it. I'm also thankful for everyone's comments, that I did get the chance to read. P.S. Yes some people are so lazy as not to take daily bath and brush their teeth. The oceans are filled with water and yet laziness. Some houses and apartments are so filthy, one cannot step into them. People gets turned off at these things.
Thank you for this video, it has helped me. I struggle with ADHD, due to this it’s hard to stay focused on which way I need to go. Clutter and not cleaning puts you into a state of confusion. Confusion is of Satan. I believe the habits I have fallen into is a poly by Satan to hold me back and keep me in confusion. So in order for me to get closer to God I need to work to clear what puts me in confusion.

Thank you voor these scriptures. The proces I'm in for myself is about steadfastness, which for me also has to do with discipline. It's hard for me, but I know with God I don't have to stay this way, because He wants to create us more to His image and living without enough discipline doesn't line up with the fruits of the Spirit either (like faithfulness and self-control). Yesterday I was tidying my closet and while I was doing that I remembered that God asked me multiple times in the last couple years to glorify Him with my bedroom and still I haven't worked that out in the best way. So suddenly I realised all this years it was a loving call from our heavenly Father to give me little steps to work out discipline in my life, because I believe a ordered house really helps to be disciplined as well. It's still not easy, but I know God is going to help me and I'm really looking forward to be more of what He wants me to be.
Amen, Laura! There are so many thing and features of the character God wants us to improve on! We are all work in progress and I feel like the moment we get better in one area, we will be challenged in another. And sometimes we will have to revisit the old areas too! So much work haha!
God been telling me to clean up my flat, Inc dirty dishes, God is about cleanliness, especially if you a believer it bring bad name to his name, since we have eyes on us via unsaved friends and spirits. I didn’t like cleaning my house as I always had a housekeeper . But for 2 years GOD has removed my housekeeper and allowed me to clean my own house and I must say I feel much better being in a clean environment and you get used to it now I love it and am very organised person I don’t like cheos I like organised and properly put together and most of all clean thank you GOD for giving me this skill and the righ spirit to do it all for your glory cleanliness means being next to GODLYNESS in JESUS name amen 🙏
God had me last week to start cleaning my house out I was going through a lot and my house was unclean and I start feeling not so clean now that I’m cleaning it up I know that God is cleaning me on the inside as well.

This video has been so inspirational to me. My husband is living in a separate home due to a housing crisis in our area. I have 2 kids, a 9 year old on the spectrum and a 3 year old who refuses domestication. Lol. I have MS and am in a boot right now after 6 weeks of being in a cast and unable to stand and we just got a letter about an inspection in 10 days. I feerl overwhelmed but inspired. I will do my best to not let my home get so messy again. May the Lord bless my home and strengthen me to get it clean 😂

I would love to read through again from start to finish. I just want to lovingly and respectfully point out that context and understanding the language is very important and I like the Strong's concordance as well as a good Bible dictionary to help your studies. I just want to point out the scripture from Deuteronomy about God turning away from them, it one: never contradicts or nullifies the rest of God's word and/or promises as you can see for example at the end of Deuteronomy, Chapters 31 and on the Lord reveals in that chapter that He knows that Israel will turn to other "gods" yet His word still stands that He will bring them into the promised land to possess it. Also when the word says that God's face will be turned against them it does not normally mean that He has utterly forsaken them, but that His blessing is not upon what they are doing and especially as applies to born again believers today we are under a new covenant and must understand that we are sealed by His Holy Spirit; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; Philippians 1:6 and He will never leave us however if we are not faithful in little I think it is safe to say that we should not expect Him to bless us with more; Luke 16:10. All that to say; great video and encouragement; I just do not want you or anyone else to think that God has somehow abandoned them or forsaken them because they have let their house become messy. John 15:5. Apart from Him we can do nothing. We could never work hard enough to deserve or merit His presence in our lives, but that is the beauty of the Gospel; that although all have fallen short of His glory, all are justified by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Yes! I like to think of it as a Garden. That's what God gave us in the beginning, a place that was prepared and well-suited for us and that had clear rules for our safety and well-being. In the Bible - God makes a clear distinction between what's domesticated/trained (good) and what's wild/without standard/without purpose (bad).

I hope that your chronological Bible reading has been a blessing to you also. They have a the chronological Bibles out there don’t they. I need Jesus and the 12 disciples to help me with my home. Please say a prayer for my home because I'm totally done living in clutter, it's a battle bigger then myself. I promised God to tell my testimony and go forth to help others have a clean home, but I cant do this alone and I need victory over it. I'm not sure I have prayed what I know to pray, I have come against evil spirits, I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong. Maybe I need a helping hand
Prayed for you! And I think what you need is just to start with small steps - like doing dishes or putting away laundry. It will be easier to tackle next small thing once you see the progress! What the heck do i do if NOONE else does it. I keep my things orderly, and then im picking up after habits of other people in the house and im so tired of it. Piled dishes on my husbands desk, soda cans, piled trash on his side of the table. Im so tired and overwhelmed whenever i get to anything. Im working, as a stay at home mom, im also in internship, and full time college and run a small business.
I have been clean and organized my whole life. Then I married a moderately messy person, but one that was not too difficult to clean up after. My second spouse is one of the messiest people I have ever met. I have met 1 man and 1 woman who are as messy or messier than my spouse in 70 years on this planet. Due to having EI/MCS and adrenal collapse, I cannot clean up faster than my spouse can make a mess. I watched this video hoping for some Holy Spirit hints.
Oh, this sounds SOOO hard!! I don't want to call your spouse a child but I guess you would have to approach him with the same grace as you would a child. Maybe his brain works this way. On the other hand I also think that we all have weak sides and we need to work on strengthening them too.
That can be a covert aggressive form of emotional and mental abuse, making you take responsibility for him in something any adult should be able to do. Look up Vulnerable Narcissists, Covert Narcissists and Cluster B Personality Disorders (the Dark Triad). I was married to one like this who I spent all of my time cleaning up after and trying to raise him to take responsibility, which he never did, and wasted many of the best years of my life. It is very common for victims of this type of abuse to develop adrenal fatigue, auto-immune conditions and other stress disorders, all of which I also have and it took my becoming severely disabled to realize how badly disordered my mom and sister are also. Please be careful not to extend too much "Christian" patience as that's what people like this thrive off of. The Bible tells us to hold people accountable and to excommunicate people who can't see the error of their unholy ways. God bless you, sister!!!!! Praying for you. Please pray for me also - I'm in over my head because of my foolishness trusting these people and the related deceptions.
I'm OCD in cleaning to the point its bad. Im learning how to calm down. Since I'm disable, it more difficult to keep clean. I dont have outside help. I do the fly lady method to clean hot spot and put things back. Im also decluttring. My caseworker said its ok not to have a clean home and organize (Spirit of the unclean).I rebuke her out of my life. She rather for people to live like hoarder.

God still blesses us and dwells in and through us since we are under the New Covenant of Jesus and have His Holy Spirit in us. So no longer based on our works (lest any man should boast Eph 2:9) or cleanliness that He blesses us and dwells with and in us, but on The Grace and Goodness of God in Jesus Christ😁but this was a blessing and convicted me to get up and prepare to keep a clean home as it is pleasing to The Lord. Thank you for sharing this revelation of The Lord and for the scriptures with it!
Oh ABSOLUTELY we are under God's grace and our works wouldn't buy us many blessings in life but also the faith produces works so if we can do the good thing we should :).

My son is having trouble so i decided to get rid of some things. Im going thr movies, books and if it doesn't please the Lord i dont want it in my home. Its making me want to fully clean and declutter lol. My question is what do i do with the movies? I have a stack of movies already and i havent started on books yet. Do i throw them away? If you accept God as your Lord and savior and you have a relationship with him and listen to his voice ... God Will NEVER leave your home just because it’s a little messy and you were busy workin or doing his work. Maybe your in line but you can never say God wil leave your home when it’s dirty . cleaning is good but God wil not leave you what are you saying??????? It’s more important to go and make disciples and spreading the gospel than cleaning your home!!! You’re reading in other times than now and most of the things in the Old Testament are not the same than the New Testament remember that. He was speaking to those people not to us!
I used to be OCD now as a born again Christian maturing in the Lord my priority is seeking the lost and serving others called by His great name NOT cleaning the house. Actually if you get rid of all your stuff and give it to the poor or to others that can use it you don’t have much stuff to get messy. I am very concerned about the stuff said in this video. The ‘house’ God is concerned about is our bodies that He dwells in. Yes we shouldn’t have anything in our life or house that would offend God like idols etc and we should try to keep it respectful to be hospitable. This video is sad. This focuses on the temporal dwelling that will be destroyed.
You are correct Nicky! God will not leave us because of the messy house. This is an old video and I don't exactly remember how I phrased it but God definitely accepts A LOT of our imperfections. However, I do believe that we should be faithful and diligent in small things entrusted to us. Home is a resource given to us and I belive God wants us to take a decent care of it too :). And if we have a cleanish and organized home it will be way easier to invite people over and have positive influence of their lives too!
Danielle, I completely agree that THE most important thing for us as Christians is to get to know God/Jesus and make God known to others HOWEVER, God has also gifted me small children. If my house is unsanitary God will be very sad if I don't steward well what He trusted me with. If my dwelling is disgustingly disorganized no unbeliever will respect me when I invite them over to dinner. Our outer environment shouldn't be a stumbling block to unbelievers. I think you would agree

I absolutely love the content of your video...but can you please advise me on how to live with a messy, unorganized slob of a husband. If tried EVERYTHING possible but he is just too messy and I feel stressed and overwhelmed and want a divorce because of it. We tried counseling, i talked to him about how it gives me anxiety, i cried and we constantly argue. I find myself working harder at home than I do at work. Please help and pray for me

Clutter and disorganization definitely gives me anxiety, lack of control and feeling of overwhelm too!!! I have a few things to say and PLEASE know that I want all the best for you and not trying to be mean to you! 1. when you are speaking to your husband about this problem, what tone are you using? Is it respectful? Would it be easy for him to try to comply with you and please you by trying to become tidy? 2. have you tried explaining to him that disorganization causes financial troubles (missed bills, late fees, medical bills for potentially your anti anxiety medication or mental health appointments)? 3. this might be a marriage issue and there might be WAY more other reasons why he is doing what he is doing. Is messiness the only thing you are agruing about? Because if it's not, I would strongly suggest continuing on the marriage couseling!!! Praying your marriage dear!!!
@@theproductivemommy8169 thank you so much for the advice. To answer your question... this has been going on for almost a decade (10 frustrating years). I've used calm tones and harsh tones. I've begged, pleaded, negotiated, bribed, offered sexual favors and even counseling (which he decided to end because he was feeling attacked). He tried to minimize the issue until I showed the therapist pictures and she was mortified and got on his case. We also argue about his temper (he yells too much..especially at kids) and him not paying bills in a timely manner. This month I rearranged the entire place and I'm given him a year to get it together (which I believe is ample time). I'm going to pray and fast about it..but if nothing works, I have to separate because my health will deteriorate from the stress and anxiety

I am a hoarder, not proud of this fact and I confess my house is full of trash and now bugs. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and am looking for scripture that backs up having a clean house and such. I have thought in the past God does not care what our homes look like but now as I have matured in my walk He is cleaning me out as I need to do with my house. If anyone could pray for me and give me scripture to battle my flesh I appreciate it.

Yes some people are so lazy as not to take daily bath and brush their teeth. The oceans are filled with water and yet laziness.

I believe the habits I have fallen into is a poly by Satan to hold me back and keep me in confusion.

Thank you voor these scriptures. The proces I'm in for myself is about steadfastness, which for me also has to do with discipline. It's hard for me, but I know with God I don't have to stay this way, because He wants to create us more to His image and living without enough discipline doesn't line up with the fruits of the Spirit either (like faithfulness and self-control). Yesterday I was tidying my closet and while I was doing that I remembered that God asked me multiple times in the last couple years to glorify Him with my bedroom and still I haven't worked that out in the best way. So suddenly I realised all this years it was a loving call from our heavenly Father to give me little steps to work out discipline in my life, because I believe a ordered house really helps to be disciplined as well. It's still not easy, but I know God is going to help me and I'm really looking forward to be more of what He wants me to be.
Amen, Laura! There are so many thing and features of the character God wants us to improve on! We are all work in progress and I feel like the moment we get better in one area, we will be challenged in another. And sometimes we will have to revisit the old areas too! So much work haha!

I didn’t like cleaning my house as I always had a housekeeper . But for 2 years GOD has removed my housekeeper and allowed me to clean my own house and I must say I feel much better being in a clean environment and you get used to it now I love it and am very organised person I don’t like cheos I like organised and properly put together and most of all clean thank you GOD for giving me this skill and the righ spirit to do it all for your glory cleanliness means being next to GODLYNESS in JESUS name amen 🙏

This video has been so inspirational to me. My husband is living in a separate home due to a housing crisis in our area. I have 2 kids, a 9 year old on the spectrum and a 3 year old who refuses domestication. Lol. I have MS and am in a boot right now after 6 weeks of being in a cast and unable to stand and we just got a letter about an inspection in 10 days. I feerl overwhelmed but inspired. I will do my best to not let my home get so messy again. May the Lord bless my home and strengthen me to get it clean 😂

I would love to read through again from start to finish. I just want to lovingly and respectfully point out that context and understanding the language is very important and I like the Strong's concordance as well as a good Bible dictionary to help your studies. I just want to point out the scripture from Deuteronomy about God turning away from them, it one: never contradicts or nullifies the rest of God's word and/or promises as you can see for example at the end of Deuteronomy, Chapters 31 and on the Lord reveals in that chapter that He knows that Israel will turn to other "gods" yet His word still stands that He will bring them into the promised land to possess it. Also when the word says that God's face will be turned against them it does not normally mean that He has utterly forsaken them, but that His blessing is not upon what they are doing and especially as applies to born again believers today we are under a new covenant and must understand that we are sealed by His Holy Spirit; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; Philippians 1:6 and He will never leave us however if we are not faithful in little I think it is safe to say that we should not expect Him to bless us with more; Luke 16:10. All that to say; great video and encouragement; I just do not want you or anyone else to think that God has somehow abandoned them or forsaken them because they have let their house become messy. John 15:5. Apart from Him we can do nothing. We could never work hard enough to deserve or merit His presence in our lives, but that is the beauty of the Gospel; that although all have fallen short of His glory, all are justified by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Yes! I like to think of it as a Garden. That's what God gave us in the beginning, a place that was prepared and well-suited for us and that had clear rules for our safety and well-being. In the Bible - God makes a clear distinction between what's domesticated/trained (good) and what's wild/without standard/without purpose (bad).

@@theproductivemommy8169 Just in general in the bible - it is a constant theme. Starting with Genesis, God took a world that was broken/without purpose and established His order which is an example for His love for us. Hope that makes sense girlie:))

I need Jesus and the 12 disciples to help me with my home. Please say a prayer for my home because I'm totally done living in clutter, it's a battle bigger then myself. I promised God to tell my testimony and go forth to help others have a clean home, but I cant do this alone and I need victory over it. I'm not sure I have prayed what I know to pray, I have come against evil spirits, I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong. Maybe I need a helping hand
Prayed for you! And I think what you need is just to start with small steps - like doing dishes or putting away laundry. It will be easier to tackle next small thing once you see the progress! What the heck do i do if NOONE else does it. I keep my things orderly, and then im picking up after habits of other people in the house and im so tired of it. Piled dishes on my husbands desk, soda cans, piled trash on his side of the table. Im so tired and overwhelmed whenever i get to anything. Im working, as a stay at home mom, im also in internship, and full time college and run a small business.
I have been clean and organized my whole life. Then I married a moderately messy person, but one that was not too difficult to clean up after.
My second spouse is one of the messiest people I have ever met. I have met 1 man and 1 woman who are as messy or messier than my spouse in 70 years on this planet.
Due to having EI/MCS and adrenal collapse, I cannot clean up faster than my spouse can make a mess.
I watched this video hoping for some Holy Spirit hints.
Oh, this sounds SOOO hard!! I don't want to call your spouse a child but I guess you would have to approach him with the same grace as you would a child. Maybe his brain works this way. On the other hand I also think that we all have weak sides and we need to work on strengthening them too.
That can be a covert aggressive form of emotional and mental abuse, making you take responsibility for him in something any adult should be able to do. Look up Vulnerable Narcissists, Covert Narcissists and Cluster B Personality Disorders (the Dark Triad). I was married to one like this who I spent all of my time cleaning up after and trying to raise him to take responsibility, which he never did, and wasted many of the best years of my life. It is very common for victims of this type of abuse to develop adrenal fatigue, auto-immune conditions and other stress disorders, all of which I also have and it took my becoming severely disabled to realize how badly disordered my mom and sister are also. Please be careful not to extend too much "Christian" patience as that's what people like this thrive off of. The Bible tells us to hold people accountable and to excommunicate people who can't see the error of their unholy ways. God bless you, sister!!!!! Praying for you. Please pray for me also - I'm in over my head because of my foolishness trusting these people and the related deceptions.

I'm OCD in cleaning to the point its bad. Im learning how to calm down. Since I'm disable, it more difficult to keep clean. I dont have outside help. I do the fly lady method to clean hot spot and put things back. Im also decluttring. My caseworker said its ok not to have a clean home and organize (Spirit of the unclean).I rebuke her out of my life. She rather for people to live like hoarder.

God still blesses us and dwells in and through us since we are under the New Covenant of Jesus and have His Holy Spirit in us. So no longer based on our works (lest any man should boast Eph 2:9) or cleanliness that He blesses us and dwells with and in us, but on The Grace and Goodness of God in Jesus Christ😁but this was a blessing and convicted me to get up and prepare to keep a clean home as it is pleasing to The Lord. Thank you for sharing this revelation of The Lord and for the scriptures with it!
Oh ABSOLUTELY we are under God's grace and our works wouldn't buy us many blessings in life but also the faith produces works so if we can do the good thing we should :).

My son is having trouble so i decided to get rid of some things. Im going thr movies, books and if it doesn't please the Lord i dont want it in my home. Its making me want to fully clean and declutter lol. My question is what do i do with the movies? I have a stack of movies already and i havent started on books yet. Do i throw them away? Like, in garbage? Or give away? Sell them? Ugh.

God Will NEVER leave your home just because it’s a little messy and you were busy workin or doing his work. Maybe your in line but you can never say God wil leave your home when it’s dirty . cleaning is good but God wil not leave you what are you saying??????? It’s more important to go and make disciples and spreading the gospel than cleaning your home!!! You’re reading in other times than now and most of the things in the Old Testament are not the same than the New Testament remember that. He was speaking to those people not to us!
I used to be OCD now as a born again Christian maturing in the Lord my priority is seeking the lost and serving others called by His great name NOT cleaning the house. Actually if you get rid of all your stuff and give it to the poor or to others that can use it you don’t have much stuff to get messy. I am very concerned about the stuff said in this video. The ‘house’ God is concerned about is our bodies that He dwells in. Yes we shouldn’t have anything in our life or house that would offend God like idols etc and we should try to keep it respectful to be hospitable. This video is sad. This focuses on the temporal dwelling that will be destroyed.
You are correct Nicky! God will not leave us because of the messy house. This is an old video and I don't exactly remember how I phrased it but God definitely accepts A LOT of our imperfections. However, I do believe that we should be faithful and diligent in small things entrusted to us. Home is a resource given to us and I belive God wants us to take a decent care of it too :). And if we have a cleanish and organized home it will be way easier to invite people over and have positive influence of their lives too!
Danielle, I completely agree that THE most important thing for us as Christians is to get to know God/Jesus and make God known to others HOWEVER, God has also gifted me small children. If my house is unsanitary God will be very sad if I don't steward well what He trusted me with. If my dwelling is disgustingly disorganized no unbeliever will respect me when I invite them over to dinner. Our outer environment shouldn't be a stumbling block to unbelievers. I think you would agree

I absolutely love the content of your video...but can you please advise me on how to live with a messy, unorganized slob of a husband. If tried EVERYTHING possible but he is just too messy and I feel stressed and overwhelmed and want a divorce because of it. We tried counseling, i talked to him about how it gives me anxiety, i cried and we constantly argue. I find myself working harder at home than I do at work. Please help and pray for me

I have a few things to say and PLEASE know that I want all the best for you and not trying to be mean to you!
1. when you are speaking to your husband about this problem, what tone are you using? Is it respectful? Would it be easy for him to try to comply with you and please you by trying to become tidy?
2. have you tried explaining to him that disorganization causes financial troubles (missed bills, late fees, medical bills for potentially your anti anxiety medication or mental health appointments)?
3. this might be a marriage issue and there might be WAY more other reasons why he is doing what he is doing. Is messiness the only thing you are agruing about? Because if it's not, I would strongly suggest continuing on the marriage couseling!!!

@@theproductivemommy8169 thank you so much for the advice. To answer your question... this has been going on for almost a decade (10 frustrating years). I've used calm tones and harsh tones. I've begged, pleaded, negotiated, bribed, offered sexual favors and even counseling (which he decided to end because he was feeling attacked). He tried to minimize the issue until I showed the therapist pictures and she was mortified and got on his case. We also argue about his temper (he yells too much..especially at kids) and him not paying bills in a timely manner. This month I rearranged the entire place and I'm given him a year to get it together (which I believe is ample time). I'm going to pray and fast about it..but if nothing works, I have to separate because my health will deteriorate from the stress and anxiety

I am a hoarder, not proud of this fact and I confess my house is full of trash and now bugs.
I am a believer in Jesus Christ and am looking for scripture that backs up having a clean house and such. I have thought in the past God does not care what our homes look like but now as I have matured in my walk He is cleaning me out as I need to do with my house.
