Make sure the work is within walking distance of a house, if not - make paths above or underground.
You don't really need to assign jobs, most cases they pick it right, if there's enough people.

Alcohol is also a decent industry, to start, in my runs it has been profitable, albeit only slightly when accounting for worker and transport input costs. It requires the input of water and crops, 5t of crops for 1t of alcohol. Crops cost 20 rubles per tons, so before transport and worker costs it will be making you 100 rubles in profit. I think it was 6t of alcohol production per day max, so a max profit of 600 rubles per day, or 219,000 rubles per year. Though I would expect half of that to go to worker and transport input costs, meaning a profit of about 110,000 rubles per year. I am not entirely sure if it is worth it when considering repair costs to the building, simply because I had managed to start exporting oil and didn't do the math. I think it needs to be rebuilt every 10 years, so without considering inflation it would make around 1.1 mln rubles before reconstruction. I don't think it is profitable enough to run an economy on, especially without farming, but I do think it can be a decent source of capital and one less good to import.

I love this breakdown of information and really appreciate it! Unfortunately, we needed to start Season 2 where we are going to start with a wood industry! I hope to see you tuning into Season 2
