Do you use prescription lenses on your quest 2 or is the ipd slide adjust do the job?I managed to swap mine over from my occulus go to the quest 2 when I traded up, they work fine.
@@JETJOOBOY its probably backwards compatible. Cant see why not. Doesn't use any of the quest 2 features such a 90hz etc..
but if you value your IPD, the quest 1 would probably be better for you, unless you're a stickler for better resolution. the quest 2 IPD function is bollocks....

Tbh for germany there Offensive actions were in defence as if war broke out they would be surrounded by France and Russia, the only thing that makes them the bad guys is our point of view and some atrocities caused in belgium
Yes in fact the bad guys are the nazi regiments those where in WW2 as you can see by the name of the game this is a simulation of WW1 we (Americans) also fought the Germans in this war but they did much less “bad stuff” than the horrible nazis.
@Deutschland in war there are no good or bad guys, just perspectives, that’s what my dad told me at least.
Incredible experience for me personally. Was my first time flying in VR. It also helped me establish my legs a bit better. I never get sick in VR but a bit dizzy, this game... definitely forces you out of that comfort zone and before you know it, it's not even a thing anymore.
Really fun, extremely satisfying shooting and dogfighting mechanics. HIGHLY recommend.
I love heights and almost never get sick in VR.. Playing this game made me close to barfing.. They did an amazing job for stand alone Quest..

I noticed recently, I was getting sick playing Quake 3 standalone on Quest, I upped the refresh rate to 90 and problem seemed to go away. Wonde if Warplanes need to try a higher refresh rate.
I suffer from Vertigo but don't get sick in VR either.
It's nice to see a WW1 airplane game on VR. And the plane your flying at the start is a Fokker D.VIII/E.V and your fighting against are Royal Aircraft Factory F.E 2
You can start on several other aircraft powers in the game dividing the central and outer powers.
It's nice that damage modeling appears when you get shot at. This game reminds me of Aces of the Pacific, from way back in the 90s! How far dog fighting games have come:)
wdym???????????? the ai in the other team literally has unlimited energy in their aircraft and when your on their six they can just pull a 9g turn somehow and get on my six and beat me up. this game really sucks

Flight sims are one of my favorites and can’t wait to try a VR one! I love to fly and should’ve gotten my pilots license like my father did, he used to take me up in little Cesnas and let me hold the wheel. My longest commercial flight was 16 hrs from Dubui to Atlanta and vise versa, made the round trip several times when I was in Afghanistan...it is tedious but the plane was huge and once up in the air they had a mingle spot in the rear of the aircraft where you could stand and chat with other passengers along with a long table with snack foods and drinks.

Yeah they nailed this one, there aren't a huge amount of great flying/dogfighting games for the Quest (theres a lot of decent PCVR ones however) so this fills a great gap in the market right now

To be fair ww1 pilots, specifically the Germans, were known to paint their planes in elaborate and vibrant camouflage patterns so to a certain extent the colour combo you chose is actually fairly prototypical

I know this is old but I'm trying to figure out how long the game is I'm confused because it says hundreds of missions but online it's says 5 to 9 hours of gameplay. Could you clue me in?.

Havent played much of my quest lately, but saw this game on app lab, got it, and love it, I think this is my favorite quest game so far, super fun taking out planes with my flare gun

Just got it and what fun!! Almost fell off my bar stool a couple of times! Using the Quest 1 so I imagine it is even better on the Quest 2. Love how you can customize your plane a bit, I painted mine blue/white camo to hide in the sky! 🤣
Haha a sky & cloud coloured plane, genius, they'll never see you coming! Its really good, some small developers are making very impressive stuff for the Quest/Quest 2 right now

For anyone curious about the airframes there's a particularly awesome couple books the first is encyclopedia of fighters and second is encyclopedia of bombers and they are amazing. They're both enormous books and I regret that I no longer have them but there's tons of airframes and statistics and stuff in there to nerd out on so there you go enjoy.0
I recently got this game and I love it. I am a huge history buff when it comes to this game and I painted my first Fokker dr1 bright red after the first and most famous flying ace
Reminds me of the old Amiga game, “Wings”. Loving the idea of getting a Quest just for this.
Its great fun, they've done a load of updates to the game since this video as well, its got multiplayer now & a whole host of new planes & missions

I played F18 interceptor on my amiga around 1990.....I had to spend 40 swiss Frank's to increase my to 1 Meg!!!! Only then could play the game!!😂🤣👊
I'm not playing a lot of games on my q2 (q1 before), just use it to get fit (having fun) - beat saber, fitxr, eleven table tennis etc. But this game... Reminds me one of my favourite Games on Amiga i played... 30 years ago? "Wings" of course. I know what i will do tomorrow(today) now.
Best game on Quest 2, the stick and rudder feel of ye old WW1 tech is magic. Jet fighter sims are too fast and relies on long range missiles, the close quarter dog fights in Warplanes are fantastic.
This game looks awesome! I gotta try it one of these days.
I bought the full game, and its soooo cool.
When your gun jam, you can beat it a couple of times, with your left hand and it will work again, and be ready to fire again

Now this game I absolutely loved, made my stomach turn and gave me the shakes the first time i flew a plane haha but now I fly around and do barrell rolls like a pro. I love hit planes and ships with the flare gun 😂 I feel so badass afterwards.
Only thing this games needs is better graphics and that's it.

This is very similar to an old flight sim classic, Red Baron. I'm going to give this a go today. Loooooved that game back in the day, it was so easy to get into cause WW1 planes are very basic.
This is what game devs don't realise.. On a PC sure, a game with an intricate and elaborate story, work... but we all remember (most of us.. well some of us) the old days of simple FUN games. Not retarded android games, but good games.. death track, etc.. VR is where these things can shine.. we don't need story lines that either confuse or bore us, and a plodding saga to follow in order to have a good game.. just this.. fly, shoot, upgrade, progress. nothing wrong with it. The people who created this knew what they were doing, hence it works... unlike so many devs who think up elaborate PC style games and destroy it trying to make it a VR game.
VR is a different reality to 2D game play. I don't want hours of dialogue and boring interaction. I want to just get in a do the game... and not to a hyper beat, where all I do is wave my arms or slice fruit. meh, sure that has it's place, if you can bother. "Oh look I beat my last score, I beat sabered xyz this time in abc amount of time, and man are my arms sore!! wooohooo!"
I wanna play "Need for speed most wanted" in VR, not "driving simulator 9000 with added reality mode and inability to have fun"...
Devs are thinking of it all wrong, in most cases. striving for a PC 2D experience in 3D/VR... when often the simplest of concepts are the best.. Also, I don't want to memorize 68 button configs just to do something. Or need an entire custom built rig to control something..
maaaahhh... this game is and should be, a clue to all who develop games. simple, good fun, addictive, and balanced.

The Red Baron's squadron all painted their planes bright colours, inspired by their leader.. so probably more historically accurate than you think !

the first plane you were in was a monoplane glider, a German one and you were probably shooting de Havilland/ Airco DH.2's or sopwith camels

One cool thing to note is that if you take the flare gun and shoot it at a plane and hit the plane, then you would kill that plane instantly.
It's great, I did get nauseous probably will get over that!

Yeah its very arcade, I think we still need a proper flight simulator specifically built for the Quest / Quest 2, I think there's a huge market for it

The saddest thing is, if WW1 didn't happen, WW2 would have never started. Hitler only won the heart of his people because Germany lost territory and were only allowed a limited army and a lot of the Germans felt like they were getting punished for WW1 when it wasn't those who were responsible for the war starting. Hitlers powerful speeches won the German people over.
There was a hidden hand involved in the majority of the major conflicts from WW1 onwards (if not before)
@@felixschrodinger7533 War in Europe was inevitable with or without Hitler. The Bolsheviks had already murdered millions of Russians by 1939 remember. Plus they always had plans to extend their lands, Churchill was a warmonger also.
It is an amazing game! If you enable "realistic" or "simulation" mode, you can do barrel rolls and backflips ;)
How do you enable realistic mode?! I can't find the option anywhere
@@BeardoBenjo Think you'd need to restart it and select it from beginning. I started on arcade on the demo then jumped to realistic once i bought it.
@@BeardoBenjo Correction. Just noticed when i looked at your video from start you do not have the Cloud save option page on the book at the beginning. You must be running an older version so probably do not have access to the online games either. You need to update to version 1.1 which is current version.

I absolutely love your videos and I'm always look forward to watching them. I'm fairly new to VR it would be extremely helpful if Right at the beginning of the video when you start talking about the game. If you can say whether or not this is going to require computer tethering in order to play on the quest 2. I know there's a lot of things that we can sideload and we don't need to stay tethered but I'm still learning the system. Just as many others are. anyways again I appreciate your videos. Thank you for the input, I may start running a banner along the top at the start of the videos that just says where its available to download and whether its native to Quest or if it requires the PC tether 🤔 its a good point because there's so much content out there and it isn't all straight forward

this is a great game for the quest and its a lot funner than it looks.The campaign is rlly cool and i love unlocking new planes that r faster and stuff.Great game 😁😁:D
For people disappointed that you can't do barrel rolls or flips, you can change the difficulty to realistic which allows you to do them.
I love playing IL2 in VR so I can very much relate to your enthusiasm when you experience flying in VR, ir really is quite amazing. IL2 offers the technical depth of the simulation which I very much enjoy, but that's just a question of personal preference.

This has the potential to be an amazing game, although I did find a weird bug on the uboat mission where as soon as you pick up a bomb to drop down you can't steer until you drop the bomb (somebody set us up the bomb). Bought it on itch so looking forward to new missions etc.
On the realistic mode the glitch works

Loving this at the moment. Europe servers seem dead though for online play in the UK. Had a brief dog fighting round with 1 other UK player but thats been it.

@@BeardoBenjo our homestead was picked as testers for 5G so we are actually the first in America to have 5G, I just got our oculus quest 2 a few weeks ago and was blown away by just how realistic it is but I can only play for maybe a hour max without getting a splitting headache and feeling dizzy and like I want to puke the vertigo is also realistic lol

I'd love for fb to get sidequest working without the current hassles. Lots of interesting titles that for some stupid reason aren't allowed on the official store.
I highly recommend using the plane alll the way to the bottom and the first one is the best they got bombs and double turrets woth multiplayer

The logo on the blimp is not a target, it’s to identify your friend from your foes you might see the same on other enemy planes.
I have this game on my phone (android) made by same company HNG and it is fun on the phone so it has to be even better on VR.

I have over 100 hours a month in flight simulator and this looks like may take some of that as this looks great fun especially for £15. That's how much the newest flight sim plane is and its basically just another x cub like plane so think will use that money towards this! Thanks for great video

are you getting prescription lens inserts for your quest 2 then? I did the 3d printed method and recommend it.. though since you're in europe you have lots of options compared to Canada..
this game was very fun, i love just looking for enemies from the cockpit, feels so real!
