I've been playing this game every night for about the last 3 weeks. I agree that simulation mode is tough. It is a challenge to keep your plane pointed at your air/land and sea targets due to yaw. I turn off ''dr Bombay's' voice as I find him distracting. It's a great game. So immersive. It would be exciting if the developers were to make a ww2 fighter plane game eventually.
I was thinking the same thing WW2 would mean VR Spitfires and Hurricanes :D
@@rclabbotics5413 and then after ww2 it could be modern, and then after modern it could be futuristic. There is a big lack of oculus flight games, and id love to have more variety.
They have found a good balance between simulation and arcade, id love to see it in other games.
@@_R_R_R the new ultrawings should be out in October if you have ever played the first one ? im part of the discord server and the trailer is dropping in 3 days we know so far there is a P-51 a christian eagle , a 163 komet a mosquito helicopter and an ultralight.
I would just love to take a dauntless out for some dive bombing!

Weird they start you off with a Fokker DVIII. It was probably the best fighter plane of WWI but came into service late 1918 and saw very little combat. You’d think it would be a goal to work towards unlocking, not a starter plane.
Yeah, starter plane should have been the Fokker Eindecker.

I tell my students that taking on zeppelins in WW1 was like taking on the death star. Now imagine Willy Coppens who brought down over 30 of them.

Willy Coppens never shot down a Zeppelin. He shot down observation balloons (BIG difference).. and they didn't use flare guns, they used incendiary bullets.
The Death Star? A standard star-destroyer at best.
Just got this today, great fun once you get the hang of the controls. Hopefully it gets more popular, I couldn't find anyone to play with this afternoon (from the UK as well) would be great to play with a squad. There's even a bomber plane with 2 separate gunner seats!

there was a double money job because it was night so I put it on simulation mode because I would get 110% more than usual and plus double money I took the challenge and I did it i was a bit disappointed because I only got $800 it
The VR is great but it is jsut too damned hard. I have been playing for a month and have not completed a mission. Luckily I was never in the airforce...
i found that using the hand tracking with throttle was to hard as the throttle stick is to low so i just use the thumb stick but keep practicing one day it will click and you will be a fighter ace in no time =)

Brother and I just got this game yesterday and we have been addicted to say the least. Look forward to them hopefully making a game similar but with ww2 planes or even modern jets.
Yep hoping for a VR spitfire having said that Simple Planes VR is coming out soon and I'm sure there is a spitfire in that.

sure it'll get better n better every update , i predict a huge online following with this fantastic game its been a long time coming for me .... i have an issue though keeping the game in english language mode despite going into settings and clicking 'apply' i always end up back in german and in campaign i end up at a german base and shooting at our lovely brylcreem boys at the raf ... which doesnt feel right 🤣- what am i doing wrong 🤔 - thanks 🙏

@@johndor7793 there are different levels of simulation which make it harder and you can play either as a enemy or allied team plus the multiplayer is great fun im sure with further updates this is going to become a classic , super cheap too , id recommend this game to anyone want a flight experience without hooking up to a p.c , its a brilliant fun game.... buy it 👍

I am pretty good with the flare gun but I totally suck at dropping the bombs. Can't hit shit.
This game is so damned enjoyable.
yeah i know what you mean it is tricky i always drop them way before you would think to drop them as they are still moving forward as well as down

Yes but if you are looking for a ever cheaper and even better game right now get simple planes vr on app lab video of it is on my channel
try the pc version if it looks kinda shitty
How come you can't see the nose of the plane? Looks like you're flying in a wooden tub.
Yeah I'm sure that aircraft is a gotha g.v which the pilot Sat right at the front of the plane so not much in front of you but a tiny bit of perspex and the plane back then where pritty much what you describe a huge wooden tub :D hats off to anyone who had to sit in them for hours on end

If you pick up a bomb but don’t want to drop it on the ground (Use it), drop it while it’s over your plane. Like, inside. It’ll automatically go back to your storage of bombs.

Yep i got it for PSVR amazing game, the Tie fighters are a little tricky to see out of but its sort of more immersive as you have to look forward and out of the window.

It takes practice but basically if you want to be lower lift your head by just craneing your neck then recenter if you want to be higher do the oposite and squash your neck down, a bit of a Pain but i imagine they will bring out a position arrows later in an update

Hold down the oculus button on the controller if you want to be further back hold your head forward a few Inches recenter then move back to your comfortable position

@@jbmatey3072 no problem same thing just in the opposite direction so if you want to be lower crane your neck and recenter if you want to higher squish your neck into your shoulders it's a really awkward way of doing it but once you get the hang of it I jump in the cockpit and muscle memory knows where to squish and stretch I suppose it looks quite silly from the outside of the headset also :D
@@jbmatey3072 there has been so many more uploaded on VR chat aswell I might do a run down of my favourite in a few days but search for both "flight" "flying" and "planes" and when a few load wait a few seconds then try scrolling through the games with the left stick and a whole bunch more show up A10 and F16 , Dreamliners helicopters there are loads graphics are abit naff but for free you can't moan :)
Is multiplayer hard to find a match?
Depends what time im from the UK and i tend to go in a public Around 8:00 or 9:00 in the evening which is late afternoon in america so you get alot more people playing.

How do you play multiplayer
Play the first mission and then land and you go to a lobby and multiplayer tab is on the left board.
This is a fun game and does look good…..How do you upload in that aspect ratio?
You can tweak the ratio temporarily in sidequest using commands

Bought it this afternoon. Having trouble casting to phone and recording footage without massive lag and glitches though. Any ideas? Great to play though!
So you want to look up a few videos on "Side Quest" (which will open up a whole bunch of games you can't get on the oculus store) and follow the steps on how to turn your quest to developer mode I got real scared about messing up but it's real quick and easy and then you can cast through side quest if you want to stream your side quest cast to TH-cam or twitch you can use a free program called OBS but look up a few videos on TH-cam first they make setup a whole lot quicker

I was so bad at taking of on ground that once I went so far away I got stuck in the ground.
Yess I know what you mean I glitched a wing into a mountain in multiplayer and it was a wild ride :D

Is there a free mode in this game
You can go back to the menu, just press the menu button on the left controller and the settings window will appear, after that, just look down and you will find a back to the menu or something like that button..
Sold my quest now, but I did eventually find the menue button :P

Actually I don’t know why people think that British don’t pronounce their t’s, it’s kinda a myth/joke. They say British with the same accent but do indeed pronounce their t’s

Is there any setting I can change to get the throttle to remain in position instead of retarding back every time I let go of it? Thanks.
not to my knowledge but if you find it let me know .. I know exactly what you mean it gets very fatiguing, I usually just get tired and use the thumb stick for throttle after 5 minutes or so..
@@rclabbotics5413 Yeah, it's annoying. I wonder how much input they had from actual pilots. I'm a former Navy helicopter pilot and I also fly fixed wing. In every real aircraft I've flown, and there have been many types, when you set a power setting, the throttle(s) stays there until you intentionally move it again, autopilot functions notwithstanding.

@@sabre6464 What, something as simple as a manual screw-down friction knob was beyond their technical capabilities?
You can't stay full throttle with these planes. I use left joystick to accelerate and slow down, if you stay full throttle your temp gauge overheats and your plane stalls. Neutral position is full fly speed, throttle up is only needed to climb. And throttle down for sharp turns
How do I play online
Finish the first mission and it takes you to the lobby on the middle board is a multiplayer tab.
What mode earns the most money to buy planes?
You get more money from them missions as they get harder. You get higher rewards playing on higher difficulties as well
Didn’t realize that about Simulation mode. I’ve been *extremely* frustrated flying missions in this mode but I’m about 10 missions in so might as well try to finish. I find the wingman is pretty much garbage no matter what level.
If you have 2 or more they serve as excellent distractions, if you're trying to take out bombers or boats, they do a good job keeping enemy's off you, but for combat I wouldn't count on them.
