It's 2023, and I'm 37 and still listening to this song since I was with my siblings that where born in the years of 1969 and 1972.... and I'm in love with this song always
This was the first song my son memorized and often sang when he was about 3 or 4 years old. (because it was my favorite song at the time). Being a single mom, we used to walk around the mall or the park and sing Sukiyaki... oh those times were golden. Now he is 23 and in a serious relationship with his gf, and he doesn't spend a lot of time with me anymore and it just makes me reminisce when I am lonely and alone.
This was my song in 94. I was a lovestruck silly 7th grader with a huge crush on a boy named Robbie. Coincidentally I did get to dance with him to this song at a school dance but nothing happened after that. I will never forget how this song made me feel. I’m 40 now and just had to listen to it again. Still makes me tear up

She never woke up, just slipped away from us. A stupid dumb accident, that's all & she was gone so quietly no-one heard her go. She broke a lot of people's hearts that night. I still miss her & many others I never had a chance to say goodbye too. I always hope they knew how much I loved them & how they sit in my heart. Let those you love know it. 💖💖💖💔💔💔😿

I just lost my dad 21 days ago. he passed away because of cancer. he is the most hardworking person I know, he worked so hard to make his family better. Out of nowhere,I heard the song but this English version in 2001. My handyman was singing it while remodeling my bedroom to look like a Japanese setting. OMG ...I didn''t even know there's an Engljsh version. It brought back all the special memories of my military life and friends .....I found the 45 rom record. Not sure if there was still a copy of the Japanese version of the song. Love the song. My best friend (om my first tour:)was Hawaiian/Japanese(RIP) and I'm Filipino. We have so many things in common and gpt along so great. I miss: sadly her son quit communicating with me. My best friend on my 2nd tour had passed away also. Missing them both so much. I went to high school with these guys and they are amazing!! Nicest guys you could ever meet. Dedicated to family and friends always!!
