In my sixties… thank you Mr Spira for giving me the key to making sense of my life… will likely appreciate it for what’s left… huge appreciation for that… I don’t think I need to qualify that sentiment…. Just grateful for it
Being aware of being aware is one of the greatest insight of Rupert The only way to be aware of being aware is by being aware. We will never be able to explain how we are aware of being aware When Descartes said I think therefore I am He was talking about a dualist experience because thoughts are an object of our experience we can observe, analyze and classify our thoughts but We will never be able to do the same with our awareness Thank you Alan and Rupert !
Thank you Alan! It is somehow paradoxical but necessary to use the limitation of words to describe such a wordless experience! That’s why I’m so appreciative of Rupert’s teachings. He expresses it so very clearly. It’s priceless!
such a beautiful treasure is been share here. The shared insights are profoundly moving and leading to more insights. We are here in presence of the Presence, and I contemplate with gratefulness that this is for each of us..
I resonate with Rupert's observation that being-aware-of-being-aware is devoid of the subject-object belief/experience. And that the placement of your attention on any object, material or immaterial, commensurately reinforces your belief/experience of a subject (i.e. a separate and distinct "I"). Thank you for the resonance, Alan.
sometimes you have the music listed and I've never wanted to look it up before now, and this time it's not listed....oh well...but Thank You for the Gift of all these Rupert videos!!!!!!!!
Hello Alan - love your compilations of Rupert’s work. Have listened to all of them. A good number, many multiple of times. This one is special. I am most grateful for what you do. Do you have these available as downloadable audio files?
In mere awareness there is no thought, so I don't see why you say that I am awareness. I think the correct understanding is that I am a thought of awareness. The reality of what make us be is not what we are. You or I cannot be aware of awareness but as a mere reflection as a thought. Being aware is not an experience in of itself, the experience of being aware is a reflection as thought. It is awareness that brings thoughts but no thoughts are formless awareness. I rather say that we are formed by or have awareness or that awareness has us.
@@alanneachell9092 you are constant? So when there is no thought where is the you? That reality is constant and is not you, for there is no you. You is a thought. Formless awareness is not what you are, rather is what makes you. Make sure you read carefully my first comment. And check if is not the case.
@@alanneachell9092 I can't find it as I am saying, that witness as awareness as being me is not. It never teaches that I am that. It teaches that I am but not that I am that. I am a thought of what is and not what is itself. As I said in the first comment, what you think is a witness is only a reflection of being aware, but being aware itself is not it.
Hi Alan! Sorry if it is not appropriate to ask you for advice, but since I have no way of reaching Rupert you were the only alternative I can think of, so I thought I'd give it a shot. So lately I've seen my understanding of the truth reaching a new phase in where it seems to flow out more in the world, in stead of staying with me in the privacy of my own heart. I think I still have exploring to do in the 'inward facing path' but yeah I just felt the time was right for what Rupert would call experiments of my experience, in where I increasingly come to realise that there is no distance at all between me, dimensionless awareness, and anything I ever experience. Obviously this is transforming my relation with the world and has been a beautiful developement in my life. I seem now to, on a deep intuitive level, know when I play, as it were, the perfect musical note in my actions and relationships and when I do not. Whenever I know I'm speaking and acting on behalf of the truth it is just absolutely obvious, in a way like knowing that the note you just played is right, and is comfirmed back to me by everything and anything. However, in this developement of increasing sensitivity, I also directly know when I'm slightly or even completely out of tune with the truth and it is extremely painful to see how much of my behavior, even now, is on behalf of a seperate entity which i know does not actually exist. Just as I experience more joy and beauty, I also think I suffer more- even the smallest things that normally I wouldn't give a second thought seem to be tearing my heart apart. I find it especially difficult in relationships with people that are very close to me, they act like a mirror of things I don't actually want to see in myself. I just can't lie to myself anymore. I know that this is a healthy developement and that in this way I'm graduadelly tuning my actions and speaking to the perfect pitch of truth, but it is also really difficult, confronting and deeply painful. I guess my question to you would be if you have some tips in making this process easier and if you could perhaps share how this was for you, if that is not to personal. I hope this metaphor of the pitch of a musical instrument makes any sense. It's just that I picked up bass guitar somewhere along the way about 8 months ago and this is truly an activity in where i'm living and speaking in the truth more effortlessly than anything else, even more so than meditation. These experiements of my experience have revolutionized my playing, so that's why I'm thinking in those terms a lot lately, haha :-) Cheers Alan. The question got a bit longer than I wanted, but if you could share some comments it would be great.
My way of dealing with the difficult stuff was first to see that the difficult stuff is not mine! Who does it belong to? Everything is impersonal. You are blessed with the grace of being able to resolve these, apparently negative states for the good of all. Find me on Facebook and we can speak further if you want to. It's a little difficult to comment too deeply here 🙏
hi Bart! Did you know that Rupert offers frequent livestream meetings where participants can dialog with him directly? There is one this coming Thursday... you can find the information and sign up on his website. Cheers!
In non-dualism, there is no “I”, no other. It is only the thinking mind, in its action of selfing, that “conceives” of a self, by “I”. Any concept or thought “I”, is the term the ego mind uses to refer to itself. It’s the heart of all deluded sense of separation. Rupert is clearly wrong in his views regarding the “I” and “I am”. “l” is always only a “thought”. In Buddhist “Anatta” “no self” awareness exists with no “I”. “I” automatically implies individuality and “other than” I. In the second video, he also claims no one can get “beyond mind”. “I” only exists in karmic mind. So many people are being mislead by his lectures to value the “I”. The “I” is the “me” is the ego. Why is Rupert so popular? It’s because he validates everyone’s ego by saying the “I” is divine. At the end of the second video he also mentions the “I am” “becomes conditioned by experiences”. Again this makes no sense. It does make sense if “I” is ego. Listen carefully, it’s not a matter of semantics... ... the confusion is, “I” cant refer to the absence of “I”. Pure Awareness or rigpa, is merely the Consciousness, or Buddha Mind, in absence of “I”. th-cam.com/video/zVXZ43e84uU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/ueU8o3y6SRA/w-d-xo.html
You are sadly incapable of moving from your own fixed model. It really isn't fair of you to comment without looking into the way Rupert uses concepts of mind and I. Your comments are typical of social media nonsense that are so stuck that I would not normally respond. I'm responding to you because your out there as a teacher and so an authority. I very much respect the models you use and can easily translate them to my experience, I wish you could do the same. 🙏💕
