Does someone else sometimes feel just an insanely lucky person and a bit weird to have had the privilege to have stumbled upon this teaching? I mean I've had my fair share of suffering because of years of depression and strong anxiety, but unlike so many other spiritual seekers I've never put any work in. What did I do to deserve this? I meditated for a year or two before randomly stumbling on a Rupert video some 8 months ago, but I have never read any Eastern philosophy, went to India, followed a guru or a mantra or whatever it is that so many people do to search for hapinesss. I just clicked a random TH-cam clip from my lazy living room sofa. And now I've completly stopped seeking. I just know I have 'found' 'it' because I know in my own experience that this is the ultimate truth of life. Not saying I'm some always-happy enlightened human being now, but because of the 'who is aware?' question and the exploration of the feelings of discomfort and seperation in my body every night in bed my entire world is transforming. My body feels so much more softer and is way more open; people respond really different to me nowadays in the most positive way possible; I experience countless weird synchronicities that confirm this truth; and on some days in general it just feels like the entire world is laughing with me to celebrate life. Lately I've really started to see that a seperate self does not exist in my experience and has in fact never existed. 'I' have always been that what I've been looking for. Of course, it sometimes is a really uncomfortable process with the surfacing of many old, painful emotions and there are definitely still days and situations where my old anxieties come back. It's just that I've developed such a different attitutde to myself and the world that it does not always turn into suffering anymore. Also, I'm still taken away by the illusion but this just happens less and less as time goes on. This is so wonderful to witness. Anyway, sorry for this essay about myself but fuck me this is just a wonderful realization; to just know that you are on the right 'track' and that you start to realize that for the first time in your life you are actually happy, peaceful and excited about the (non-existing) future. :) PS: Alan, I'm so grateful for these compilations. They are wonderful and are obviously put together by someone with a deep understanding. Thanks buddy.
Wow! What a joy to read about your obvious shift in knowing! Your comments make the small effort of putting these compilations together so worthwhile. It seems to have been an advantage to you to have not had too much prior knowledge and you obviously followed the instructions to the letter. Really chuffed mate 🙏💕

Indeed Bart, you are a fortunate person. I'm nearly fifty and have been listening to Rupert's talks for the last several years. Like many of us, I have been seeking for a long time (30 years in my case) and I've seen and listened to many teachers. I've even had powerful direct experiences (of Truth) and even afterwards found myself spiralling into depression. Rupert's teachings are so clear and precise, devoid of all trappings and pretense, and this combined with his humility and honesty has Truth itself shining through. If you haven't found him already, you might also enjoy Francis Lucille (Rupert's teacher, available on TH-cam), and also Jean Klein (Francis' teacher, you'll also find a few of him on TH-cam as well.) Each of these teachers also wrote books, and I still listen and read to remind myself constantly of Truth, and I will continue to do so such that it becomes deeply abiding and effortless... and so that I can share the same Truth myself in my own way.
Alan, thank you for another beautiful compilation of Rupert’s teachings…. I discovered Rupert only just a few years ago … and the more I listen to other teachers, the more I return to listen to him, over & over again. Being a woman of Indian descent born and brought up in the US with a direct connection to Ramana Maharshi through my lineage (my great grandmother used to visit him in person and I have been profoundly blessed to have Bhagavan visit me in dreams and give me teachings …) I often feel bombarded by what Rupert calls “spiritual paraphernalia” due to the fact that I was raised Hindu (though I have not identified as “Hindu” in quite some time ) … Of all the teachers I have been blessed to come across, Rupert is one of the few that cuts through all the distraction and gets to the heart of the matter. I am That. Now. The one who is aware. I cannot move even a millimeter closer to myself. It’s a non-objective experience, and yet full of beauty and sweetness. How can that be? It just is! Beyond the mind. How beautiful & sublime 💜 Thank you for all your heartfelt work 🙏🏽
I feel that our separate self want to complicate the concept of enlightenment so that he could keep alive. At the end what we need is “To love God with all our strength” (rest in the experience of being aware) and “Love others as yourself” (Recognize our share being with all existence) Thank you Rupert for show me how to understand the teaching of Jesus and thank you Alan for make the teachings of Rupert available to all of us in such a beautiful way!
Such a relevant topic! I sometimes wonder how did it come to pass that humanity has arrived at the stage of moving' so far away from our own essential nature, enough to completely overlook who we are!! Thank you Alan, for pointing to the direction that leads us back 'home'.
You can't move towards it, you can only be it. You can only move towards a thing. Okay.........????? You can't go there, you're already standing there. You are that. Oohh.........click, click, click...................okay!!! 😊😊😊
Perfect, I use to say to a close friend 'once you are there you are there' through that phrase you find you are already here and always here, slowly osicalting towards the light of knowing through continual surrender, acceptance and rigious faith.
@@condorianeverdormentailast9703 What a joy when you realize that you always knew what you have just discovered 🙏 Very hard, by the way, to tell someone who is still seeking (even a close friend) that you are where you are. I don't even try, they project their seeking on me concluding I couldn't possibly be where they want to be. Not wanting to see they are exactly where I am 😊
@@wilma8326 Love is such a powerful word, it strings, folds and bounces around but do we ever comprehend the meaning of value over worth until we are left naked infront of loves desire to captivate our heart into a burning soul on fire with attachment to the focus we are all born breathing, True love sticks out like an empty reservoir, expelling past tumour into future permitance to accomplish any strugle that we face for once in the eyes of true love we are beyond any ill-manner of attraction and walk in the light of God.
The fruit of the practice of nonconceptual being aware is that it invariably unveils being aware of being aware. Or to put it another way, observing without an observer Concepts, thoughts and feelings are the fabric of the movie's content. Yes, even the concept/thought of "being aware" and "being aware of being aware". It's all so wonder-full.
As for the 'peace and happiness that does not depend on one's circumstances', consider the following inspiring quotes from Joseph Campbell. "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." ✔ "We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us. " ✔ "Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again. " ✔ "All the Heavens, all the Hells, all the Gods are within you. ✔ "God is a metaphor for that which transcends all levels of intellectual thought. It’s as simple as that. " ✔ "The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure. " ✔ (Yes) Question 1: If one is not up to enjoying the ride, is s/he awake? Question 2: If one surrenders to a nightmare created by mind/s, would there be any incentive for her/him to keep on going with their life?
I have been trying to listen to these great videos in some kind of an order but it is impossible. The lists are constantly being rearranged. The latest is sometimes at the beginning of the list sometimes at the end, some videos have been removed.
