I have to analyze a scene for my final project for film class. I saw the points in a text, but seeing the life breathed into them on screen, paired with your incredible descriptive narrative really helped clear it up for me! Thank you!!! Really excited that the film series I chose was in here as well, LOTR! :)
Thank you so much for making me understand what this actually meant, I’m in college taking a film class and man let me tell you that they make it seem much more difficult then it actually looks, but you, you explained it so well that’s it’s very clear and easy to understand now, thank you so much for this video!
Great video, I have a textbook but I tend to now head to TH-cam to watch an explanation on certain film analysis explanations. Thank you for explaining this. So much to know and learn.
Analyzing your video i can say you are a well balanced individual. One side you have warm light and some props and the other is a gray side with more shadow and no props.
Another great video of yours. I'm surprised your stuff isn't way up in the view count. I suppose that shows a depressing trend towards STEM subjects. Anyway, thanks for the help planning my lesson. I already told them my favourite movie was There Will Be Blood, so that will be a great way to introduce the topic.
Thank you! Yeah there are a whole bunch of films I wish I could show my class for the sake of it being a great film, but don't have time! There Will Be Blood and Whiplash would definitely both feature on the list
@@TheMediaInsider Both wonderful, I'll try to sneak Whiplash in too. I managed to get the Rocky 4 montage in whole last week, so you never know. I've got a fair amount of leeway. Thanks again.
Hi there, I am so glad I found you here in TH-cam. I am doing film analysis for my master thesis and I was wondering, do you have any recommendations for doing multimodal visual analysis of film? Or could you make a video of this?
I’m enrolled in Cairns Distance Education and wanted to ask a question. Did you give Cairns Distance Education legal permission to use this video as part of their course? (Term 2 English Year 11) I noticed that unlike virtually every other video, your one didn’t have a link and to be completely honest, they have shown themselves to be incompetent in nearly every regard so it wouldn’t surprise me if they illegally used your video without your knowledge, input or consent. Your outro was still there so I just manually found your channel/this video. (P.S In the entire time I’ve been enrolled, this is the only video on their course that I’ve ACTUALLY found enjoyable, I was honestly very intrigued.)
Hi there, no I’ve not heard of them before and certainly didn’t give permission! Either way I’m pleased you found the video helpful! I imagine it’s being used in quite a few places: some providers have asked if they can use my videos and I’ve always said yes in the past, but I imagine it would be impossible to police anyway!
This is good. It would be even better if there weren't gender specific terminology used, such as 'man-made'. Why not use 'artificial' or 'human-made'? That way, 50% of the population, i.e. women, feel included.
Technically the man in terms like mankind and manmade are neutral. It refers to a person or people. Just like human and humans does not refer to only one sex. It just happens that somewhere along the way we dropped the rest of the word that referred to male humans.

One of your best. Thank you.
5:28 what is this from? That's some beautiful composition there, like the prettiest I've seen when it boils down to the shapes and nothing else
Woody Allen's "Manhattan", 1979. And yes: that is one of the most stunningly composed and photographed shots in film History, in my opinion, too.
Man, you're amazing
No, Davide, you're amazing
Thanks for this video. It’s very helpful. I just subscribed

Blade Runner 2049

I HATE THIS VIDEO!!! ITS TOO GOOD...
nice video ! btw it is written scène not scéne
This video is fantastic, but it's pronounced "meez-on-sen."
I sound silly saying it the French way!
Scène. Mise en scène.
