This is honestly the best tutorial I have found that explains how to do it with tips and not just forming with the acrylic! Thank you!! You have saved me many hours of pain and frustration!
To anyone who’s reading this to know if this tutorial is helpful, y’all this is the tutorial that was a 100% accurate. Like literally, I tried following so many tuts and messed up my nails several times but she explained it so accurately and to the point that I have the nail shape I’ve always wanted now!
Finally found a video that actually shows you how to shape your nails and do different shapes. This video is the best helped me out so much. Thank you!!
I have watched SO MANY videos on how to shape my nails and never can get it, I do my own nails and Have never been able to get my shape right. But I stumbled across this video and THANK YOU SO MUCH for how you explained it!! I FINALLY got the shape exactly how I’ve always wanted!!
Hi, she’s really one of the best nail techs , out there. Haven’t seen any recent videos though . Don’t know what’s going on, hope she is ok…@SamiMetheney
Nina Lights she's blended them in w a soft gritt file into the nail this is great to do to not only do the shape but blending the plastic only making it thinner all over. Ballerina is done at a 90%angle it's easier to do using the guide of your finger tip.this is time consuming rather than using straight edged clippers taking off the edges speeding up the process. U can't really file clients nails this way but gives you a lot of info about the various shapes. She's an experienced nail tech. Practice makes perfect even for the best they still practice.
You did these perfectly,my fav has to be the almond nail, iwent to get them done yesterday but not quite what I hoping for, look more like rounded so ill b doin them myself from now on,I'm a new subbie and I love ur work xxxx
Loved this video, it was so helpful watching you do it from your own point of view. This tutorial showed me the easiest & most consistent techniques for when I'm shaping my nails (and my 2 girls & my mom's, because I do theirs too! ) Amazing, thanks for sharing!
I'm already a subby but i just HAD to thank you i got my nails done and they went what i wanted the lady was in training her self which i aint knocking her for she just needs a bit more practice. so i cut down my long hybrid of stiletto and almond and followed ur steps and have a beautiful hand of natual looking nails. thank you for restoring my faith in getting false nails really helped me out wish i could send you a picture
Actually, these coffin nails are called tapered square. Go to 6.9m and you'll see the correct coffin nail look. Go to gemma lamberts channel, she shows you tapered, coffin and ballerina.
Went from near inverted square tip french to ultra short spade. I would still tend to use almond on the shortest. Very nice vid. The hardest part is when to stop sheering from the sides and start the side walls and top.
Thank you so much, excellent explanation and tutorial, easy way to shape. You have saved me time on my sets and made the shaping easier for me. Thank you
I got the nail tips from Sally's they are in the colour natural. I don't know the make but it isn't about the tips it's about how you apply and blend them in.
Perfect video. So helpful...! Love how natural the nails look. I can't wear them to work, but I think I might just be able to get away with it now. (; Thanks for sharing.
Try holding your file straight up not on an angle, i used to do same. Its how you hold the file and need to come straight out from side wall then shape not shape from where you get the divot where the divot is it is still straight there. Not sure if that makes sense but try holding file different.
So beautiful Nona!! I have always worn the Squoval shape on my nails. I've tried the almond and round, and they've always broken off a lot faster and for some reason weren't as strong as the squoval. My nails tend to grow out squared, so I slightly round the edges and I love them!!
My nail is pretty long so can I just shape it like the oval one or is it bad for my nails that's why I only see people doing it with tips insted of doing it directly onto the nail?
that's a great video ") simple and yet detailed..when you apply the acrylic do you use the buffer machine? can you show us how to use it..im a beginner :)
NonaPhilippa Oh dear, I figured that might be the case seeing as it made light work of those tips. I want to find the perfect file for taking down length quickly whilst sealing. At the moment I use the Leighton Deny glass file and Boots Smoothing file but I'd like a super quick solution.
Why don't you try Opi nail files they're called manicure files and are an orange colour they're very good for natural nails! And are of the foam variety
Awesome. Finally a video with all the shapes! I've been waiting the longest time for something like this. Would the filing technique be the same for natural nails? Also, how do you determine whether the free edge is straight if the finger itself is not as straight as others?
Can I still do almond because my nails are long but they're ver curved. They kind of look like simplynailogicals but shorter. Do I just file off the curve?
what type of acrylic powder u used on ur nails? and i live un US where i can find nail tips like urs. its beautiful. can you please do a tutorial on how you did these nails?
Almond 0:33
Round/Oval 3:54
Coffin/Ballerina/Squarletto 5:44
Square/Squaroval 7:48

+Franchesca Fails Natural. U dont have to comment. I think u understood❤️
"Natural" you mean

I love your videos, Suzie! I have learned so much from you! Thank you!
Went from near inverted square tip french to ultra short spade. I would still tend to use almond on the shortest. Very nice vid. The hardest part is when to stop sheering from the sides and start the side walls and top.
oh ok, now i have a better understanding of how to shape each of these, thank u :-)
This is a wonderful video!!! Thanks sweetie 😘
Thank you so much, excellent explanation and tutorial, easy way to shape. You have saved me time on my sets and made the shaping easier for me. Thank you
Thank you I had no idea they were called square stiletto so pretty! Great video
Tip for almonds, start them off really early. They will look awkward at first but it will be easier to shape as they grow out
This video absolutely going to my favorites!
Thanks a lot this vedio is very detailed it will help me put a meal on my table for my family
I learned so much, thank you. Looking forward to your next video.
love this tutorial because I was having problems with the coffin they always come out wrong thanks
Great video, thanks for the tips on files from OPI have to lookout for those.
I love this video!!!! Will be using these shapes in the future👍👌
So helpful, thank you! My nails are square oval at the moment as they tend to break less in this shape, but I will try some of the others.
Thank you so much I'm going to try oval🙂very understandable instructionsx

You did good , I love it .
That was a great help! Thank you!!

Wonderful and understandable Video. Thank you.
Perfect video. So helpful...! Love how natural the nails look. I can't wear them to work, but I think I might just be able to get away with it now. (; Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. So helpful for new nail techs. xo
Do you apply the nails by yourself? They look so natural and beautiful!
My problem is I like squoval, but the way I file them makes them break as they grow out. when I do the sidewalls, I somehow make a divot in them.
Try holding your file straight up not on an angle, i used to do same. Its how you hold the file and need to come straight out from side wall then shape not shape from where you get the divot where the divot is it is still straight there. Not sure if that makes sense but try holding file different.

Coffin starts at 5:34
Mackenzie why'd you comment this?
xx
i was looking for coffin, and i realized people didnt come to learn all of the nail shapes but just a certain one, so im saving peoples time
Mackenzie thanks I actually came for the coffin haha.
Can you do a video on what shape look good for that finger
GREAT Video. What Brand Of Tips Did You Use? And Where They The Overlap Kind? if You Don't Mind Me Asking:)
that's a great video ") simple and yet detailed..when you apply the acrylic do you use the buffer machine? can you show us how to use it..im a beginner :)
Brilliant video!! I love to change up my nail shape.
What grit is that Harmony nail file? It was pretty effective - is it okay for natural nails?
Thanks Hun! It's a 180/180 grit I think but no not good for natural nails I'm afraid fine for tips and acrylic or gel but not natural.
NonaPhilippa Oh dear, I figured that might be the case seeing as it made light work of those tips. I want to find the perfect file for taking down length quickly whilst sealing. At the moment I use the Leighton Deny glass file and Boots Smoothing file but I'd like a super quick solution.

Thanks it really helped me , can u tell me the name of thing that u use to cut he nail

Yes file exactly the same way on natural nails
This was very helpful...thank you :)
really nice video very helpful :) thank you
I LOVE the coffin shape because you can have them super long without them looking tacky lol
You are so good!

So nice mam
