Daria seems like such a kind and humble person. I love her advice to find a culture that you love and commit to it. The language will come with that love of the culture.

My native language is spanish, I also learned english, arabic (egyptian dialect) and I'm learning mandarin chinese. I learned english in school with songs, tv shows, movies.. for arabic, I met egyptian friends who teached me the basics, I had a tutor, watching movies, tv shows, music. And lastly for mandarin chinese I'm learning it in an online academy, and I try to watch videos on youtube

Currently just started learning arabic while still learning spanish. First half of the day is for Arabic and the last half is for spanish. I use my native language (english) as breaks for my brain when needed. Just trying to stay consistent and persistent. Would like to relearn french, portuguese, and russian in the future.

You can search here on youtube Spanish/ English bilingual stories and practice listening to the language... extensive listening in a relaxed way helped me lots 😊

Anki is the "successor" to programs such as "Kanji Gold", which was a PC app for the Japanese language for Japanese language learners.

Make plenty of notes just write down words and learn them off they stick really well then try and watch something in the target language preferably with the words you learned that day.

How to learn a new language... I'm struggling to learn Chinese... it's so frustrating to write on paper and not memorize the words and phrases... I've tried various apps and none has been a game-changer in my life... whether it's Mango Languages or Pimsleur, among others like Duolingo, Rocket Languages, etc... What should I do? Recording my voice on my phone's recorder and then deleting it works to avoid filling up my phone's memory, for example? Is there anyone reading this who also has memory and concentration deficits? Or feels that their brain gets overwhelmed quickly when listening to a podcast or video, for example?

Learning a language takes so much time and effort, how can they make it in short term and add to it that they study multiple ones simultaneously

As an adult, I am not sure if I like making mistakes in my non-native languages. I am not sure if I like it when someone speaks in my native language, not at my level, with primitive vocabulary and more mistakes than native speakers.
There is one story about whether I live in my country or make my life comfortable in another country with my second language. Do not talk about my third or fourth language. These numbers are not coincidental, the third language is weaker than the second.
English is my fourth language, which I did not learn at school.

@@evolve_hq I lived in Ireland for 16 years starting at my 34 and at that age I opened strange things, I could understand English that I had never learned before.
I have used English a lot in my life, but a late start with it caused me a lot of problems.
When I was 16, I saw American movies where there was the sound of two languages. These movies were over-sounded in Russian, but there was still English.
It is interesting how I missed the point of having a new language at that age.

I'm not sure if the inotroversion/extroversion dichotomy the host uses to compare himself with the guest is really helpful, or relative for that matter. I'm certain extroverts use sterotypical qualities associated with introverts, and that there are introverts out there that couldn't even imagine sparking a conversation with let alone some in their own language

Thank you so much for your observation and perspective on this! It was just to highlight how a one-size-fits-all approach isn't always the case and that each person has their own challenges/methods! Thanks again for watching 🙏
