I was so luck to see it, I heard about the show when standing for the rush line of the notebook and didn’t get tickets for anything that day so I decided to walk to the theatre an hour before the show and got student rush tickets and it was amazing.
8:51- That's Cassandra, an absolute beast to play and incredibly difficult not to rush, but one of my favourites in the show. it's written really interestingly. the rhythm in that section your singing is right, and you were pretty close with the signatures but he writes it differently. On the chart, it split across three different bars with different signatures, a 3/4 bar, a 4/4 bar and a 6/4 bar. "Half the" are two dotted crotches (3/4 bar), "sto-ries of the" are all quavers, "world" is a dotted crotchet, "are" is a quaver (4/4), and "left un writ-ten" are all dotted crotchets (6/4).
your musical memory is amazing, I'm floored by how you can distill something you heard a while ago, especially how you remember the count of specific songs, can't wait for a cast recording one day. PS. you mentioned you've seen Merrily We Roll Along, I'd love a video with your thoughts on the production while it's still fresh for you! I can only go from the cast recording, but I think they finally nailed a show that stumbled in every production so far.
I heard you singing this song and realized that there is a recording of at least one song (not this one) from the show and it's been out for several years now. It's in Jason's Library of Congress concert at about 33 minute mark. Idk if that song is still in the show, if it has been cut or if it's literally the same but it exists :)
I was just coming to share the link to exactly this performance. th-cam.com/video/Q7zJQpFjr10/w-d-xo.htmlsi=g6hZanzg93NSGwEh At 33 minutes. It's the song that you're talking about at 9 minutes Matteo.

Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I love JRB's bridges.....example the opening number of "13" that goes into " I'm becoming a man"....
Love your commentary. FYI, Scott started out as a theater guy. I fell in love with him in 1988 in Romance, Romance.

Cast recording is supposed to come out in late spring
This is so good, Mateo! I've seen "The Connector" twice and hope to see it again. Love JRB's works.
Thank you for this! I can’t wait to hear the recorded music. I so wish I could see this show. I’m a huge JRB fan.
You have a beautiful voice! Hope this show gets a full recording
I'd love to see a revisit of this with the soundtrack out now!! Incredible video!
