I love Iggy's. I have one that is a female, Lil' Mrs. Mouse. She was a rescue from a puppy mill from the local shelter. It took her over a year to actually trust any people other than me. She has had medical issues, she had bad bones due to lack of exercise during her growing years and now has glaucoma. But I am giving her the best life I can and she's a happy lil dog nowdays.

Yes! It hurts! Poor Nello 😣 I hope he is fine now. My iggie was stung once and she swelled up immediately. I took her to the vet and they just said to give her an antihistamine and keep an eye on it. She was ok by the next day 😊
It hurts them poor babies. Sweet Nello 😢 Yes, both pups stung on grass and one in between the eyes. Ice pack or run cold water on the paw and I always keep Benadryl on hand for pain. Of course consult with vet on dosage.

My sheltie got one on her large Snout once, she swelled up and it looked funny
Good nothing serious. My 1st IG 4 years old in 1995 got stung by a bee & that night had an extreme case of dehydration and kidney failure. Several thousands of dollars & giving IV fluids he came around again. Our best guess is he had bad kidneys already or only one kidney. We love your videos thank you for putting them out.

Oh Nello! 😥 poor baby! My IG got stung once between his toes and his foot really swelled up. Had to take him to the vet. Feel better sweetheart.❤

I hope Nello gets better very soon… But being a former dog owner myself, I wouldn’t take any chances and I would take the sweet little boy to the vet. He is so adorable

Thank you for your comment 😊 It‘s hard to tell from a distance why he is acting like that. Often times the roots of the problem lie somewhere else - and you need to position yourself as the pack leader again 😌

I am concerned to have a dog for quite a long time, and find that the greyhound and Italian greyhound you have are sooo cute. What's the difference between these two breeds? Obviously, the size. anything else? activity? personality?
They are quite different actually. One major difference: Greyhounds are way more laid back than Italian Greyhounds 😅

Our Twiggs was laying on the front porch last month, soaking up the sun. When he came in, he had what looked like two mosquito bites on his side. He lost all the hair in a patch around the bites/ stings. Then I could see a black colour around the edge of the patch. I realized it was the hair growing back, so he’s ok.
But it’s scary when anything happens to your Iggy, especially since Twiggs doesn’t seem to have the best immune system.
BTW, I know you’re supposed to keep them ribs- sticking- out thin, but Twiggs is overweight by Iggie standards, close to twenty pounds. I don’t know how unhealthy that is, but he is muscular, and this makes me think his legs and body might be somewhat protected from injury because he is so muscular.
Do you think it’s unhealthy for him to be heavier, given that his well developed musculature helps protect his fine bones?
So glad he is okay!
It‘s hard to tell without actually seeing the dog but generally being a bit underweight is healthier than having too much on their ribs.
