I watch people run towards a stratagem that's been tossed way way ahead of them all the time and then complain that I took them out while they run towards a swarm with one stim and an AR23 to clear that swarm. I laugh and then ask what were they thinking?
@@mdh1775 And in real life no one would complain, except maybe that one office worker that has to send more death notification letters, as they committed suicide by running into live fire and could no longer complain about it.
I've watched countless Helldivers videos by now, and I can't overstate how painful it is that this video is the FIRST and ONLY video to actually address the biggest and most important skill element of the game. Teamwork. Everyone will chatter on endlessly about which weapon is good or bad, whether this or that armour is better, but not one other TH-camr I've seen thus far, has stopped to say, "How about you cover each other?". Probably the most influential advice that can be given.
Facts. I’ve actually been kicked from a game for having the temerity to politely suggest we watch out for eachother instead of just charging off while a team mate is reloading - or worse, throwing a reinforce into a throng of enemies and then just leaving without so much as a by your leave.
Even the perfect mission on a lower difficulty can be completely fucked up if everyone's doing their own thing or, god forgive, leave in the middle of the mission.
I've kicked people for throwing us into hordes of enemies ngl. I always throw my allies AWAY from the enemies... unless its a bile Titan .. if its a Titan i throw them at it to try and kill it@morganharvey2041
@@midnightzgamer20k There’s a subtle balance that depend on a number of factors certainly. But what you don’t do is reinforce then just run off - I always wait and keep watch til they’ve landed and grabbed their gear. Same with friend doors and poi’s. It’s just basic small unit tactics.
yeah i would not recommend shooting near a teammate because spread or just a misplaced crosshair can be deadly. Also they might unpredictably strafe into your fire
Another one for "Check and Protect", is take note of team mates with weapons that have stationary reloads. If a buddy just put a recoiless round into the Bile Titans head and needs one more to finish it, HELP HIM by covering his reload. Watch for people with auto-cannons, machine-guns, Recoiless and Spears, and keep the melee stuff off of them so that they can put those weapons to work.
TBH, if you can coordinate it and you have a 3rd person to cover, get that 2 man team pumping out the damage. A RR with a loader can absolutely drop bile titans in a silly amount of time, but making sure that they don't both get dropped is important.
YES! The recoilless is such a powerful weapon but it's reload is debilitatingly slow. When I see a teammate with one I always make sure to tell them "reload that recoilless, I'll cover you" because it's such a powerful weapon.
After playing several hundred hours with randoms, this advice is probably the best advice I could give. Unfortunately, a lot of people are too stupid or selfish to care about covering each other. A lot of people are only out for themselves and only care about having the best stats at the end. More people need to work as a team, cover each other, call out patrols, and for the love of god, watch your damn airstrikes. You call in an airstrike anywhere near me, and your ass is getting booted from my game.
@@ShinobiNeon Just started playing with a group of newish players, and the whole 'Did you miss the *giant glowing god laser* (emphasis theirs) on the ground?! How?!" Is both a bit hilarious and annoying. On one hand, I get it. There's a giant laser pointing into the sky that tells you when you're looking at it what kind of strike it is. On the other, the laser isn't all that giant and I'm not always looking in the same direction as the person chucking the bloody thing.
In terms of covering teammates, I’ve experimented with playing as a sniper, hanging back from the squad and staying covert, then when it all kicks off covering the other 3 with the anti material rifle and laser orbital. Use strats like smoke and emp mortar to cover squad’s exfil from completed objectives, then jump packing the hell out of dodge once enemies start chasing me. So much fun! Recommend if you fancy mixing it up.
Sniper with jump pack is one of my favorite loadouts to play against bots, as it allows you to get to normally unaccessible high ground and get a good vantage point to cover your teammates
If you did it will they'll think you're a god, you'll save them over and over again. It's weirdly strong as a 7 gunship drop gets stopped by smoke and a distraction as well as 1...
I run my Team Dad Build Solo. Las16, Redeemer, HE Grenade with the Orbital Laser, 110s, EAT17, and mission dependent strategem. I run engineer armor for recoil management and +2 grenades. Aside from that I check objectives and pull rear security or overwatch.
Can confirm, a sniper loadout is extremely fun! Oh and the buffed diligence counter sniper is NOT bad It's like a mini anti material rifle so Definitely pair it with a laser cannon or...just use amr! xdd But yeah I love protecting my team
One piece of advice I never see mentioned, always collect samples even if you no longer need them, because you can help out a teammate. I see too many max levels ignoring samples.
Saving a teammate also often saves time, which is often a more important resource. It takes a few seconds to get them back in, but then the thing they were doing is probably still worth doing, so the team needs to secure the area, move in, and do the thing. They also need to grab their weapons and samples back in most cases. Spending 20-30 seconds helping them out can save them 1-2 minutes of recovery time, which adds up over the course of a mission.
The part about friendly fire only proves how many people either don't know real gun safety, arent paying attention to details such as what or whos around them, or don't care if they play as a team. It had me thinking its also an easy way to spot people who have actually used a real fire arm, because if you have and were actually taught the proper safety then you remember how important it is as to why you don't shoot when someone is in front of you. They should always be behind you, or at the very least since its a game, at your side without crossing ahead of you. It also lets you see who has used a real gun or is aware of their team when they know to walk "behind" another team mates line of fire even when they arent shooting. A good team player runs behind your line of fire rather than in front, when possible. I say that because in one part of this video someone literally ran out in front of the persons line of fire, which is only made worse when you realize they were close together and it would've only taken a few extra steps to swurve around. Not only did he risk death but he prevented them from hitting enemy targets. Another tip, when another team member is shooting. When another team member is shooting. If you are going to run in front of them, make sure you either slow or enter their field of view at an angle so they see where you are before you cross their path if you must run in front of them. Their field of view is likely close to the same size as yours, but that does not mean if you can see them, they see you. They will still need time to react due to network latency which isn't much but can be the difference between getting shot or not.
I had a game I was right in front of the enemy and I wasn’t a struggling with the kills but one of the teammates behind me just straight beamed the enemy without even thinking about me. When I spawned in I unloaded a clip on him then another when he was dead to show him I was pissed about that lmao
When reinforcing, be sure to mark either large enemies (for the reinforcement pod to land on) or to mark the dropped equipment (so the reinforcing diver can land directly on it without guessing).
Also, with regards to making sure everyone gets on the escape shuttle: Remember the sad truth that some lives matter more. If you have all the samples, you owe it to your team to get on that shuttle ASAP, even if it means that someone gets left behind. There is nothing more tragic than losing all the samples you worked so hard for last second, and as long as you completed the objective, you will still have a positive impact on the liberation percentage if anyone escapes. Edit: this doesn't apply if you've all maxed out you ship upgrades, in that case always make sure everyone gets on the ship.
If you are maxed on ship upgrades you should still secure the samples for the team if they need them. That said, you probably shouldn't be the one holding them, just drop them at extraction HOLY HELL I FORGOT THIS ONE IN MY LIST
Dude, the ammount of times that my team has gotten on the shuttle when I'm SO FAR AWAY yet I have all the samples is ridiculous, one of the few times I have rage kicked (Hate to admit it). And before anyone says anything, I DID tell them in chat AND voice chat
I do wanna say, sharing something with a team mate in a co-op game is one of the best feelings you can get. People might not always thank you, but just knowing the happy feeling it gives someone else is just worth it. Besides that, I it always makes me feel useful when weighing down my team a bit.
I love sharing jump packs and snipers with people who haven't tried them. Hell,, when a tesmmate loses their stuff, if they grab mine I don't even mind it.
@@jacobrobertrosaortiz7660 same, as long as it's not actively screwing me by leaving me with no support weapon I don't mind. Stuffs on a timer and I'll get it back! I don't do high enough difficulty for it to be a probeblm anyway.
Using the ping function, I more often than not see a noticeable difference in my team's performance when used efficiently. That you have seen something doesn't automatically mean the rest of the team has seen that same thing, unless you call it out somehow. Figting at distance in a low-vision area, but you got vision of the enemies? Ping them! Your team might not accurately see what they are shooting at, but they CAN shoot at the red marks of the ping! Pinging also helps gauge grenade throws, threat assessment, repositioning, stratagem use, etc.. We've all heard that "knowing is half the battle". So get your teammate into the "here and know".
Or you Ping a Charger that attacks from behind, 4 times. You fighting it alone but have no weapons to bring it down and the other three ignore it. I was so mad that I Punched one away then finally they attacked it. It was marauding on the extract.
The most annoying thing that happens to me is when one of us 4 helldivers runs off and goes on their own side quest. The side quest isnt the problem, the problem is when one of us dies, the dude going on the sidequest reinforces them ages away from everyone else.
Holy crap! 2:21 is me! I'm F3 "Farmer". I R got into your game and you miraculously didn't immediately boot me. Thanks for the game!!!! In managed Democracy we trust!
Friend: "I have two chargers on me OH MY GOD!!!" Me: "I'm here! I drew aggro! Oh god!!!" Friend: "We need to do the main objective, we're running out of time." Leaves me with two chargers, wonders where I am when he gets to the objective.
Great video, essential watching IMO. I prefer "Anti-Elite" to "Anti-Large," just a nit pick but I feel it's more descriptive. My additional tip for your next video/readers here: USE YOUR PINGLISH. The game has a fairly robust ping system, in addition to being able to mark things on the map, and marking targets/patrols, you have a slew of communication options that many people rarely use. If you need supplies, there is a ping for that, and if the community gets used to using it, it will reduce lost supplies and improve coordination on resupply drops. You also have wait/follow to help with same, though don't be surprised if people are already committed to an action in their mind, it is a democracy after all. Most important, I can't count the number of times I have been the only one on comms, have asked a clear question, and asked for a simple Yes/No, and gotten no response. Maybe some of those times they didn't speak english and didn't understand me, or had comms turned off (why though?), but regardless a simple yes/no can win games. One more tip - CHECK YOUR TEAMMATES COOLDOWNS: If you open the map, you can see your teammates stratagem CDs. If you are rocking all airstrikes/sentries/emplacements, and you see a teammate has an autocannon off cooldown, go ahead and ask them to drop you one. You might even be able to get an assisted reload in. Actually, that reminds me - ASSISTED RELOAD WHERE POSSIBLE: I need to work on this one more, the crew serve weapons are difficult to use, as you can be easily knocked off an assisted reload by a stray shot/bug jumper. Also terrain/movement can make it difficult to attempt. Generally you want to be in comms if you are going to attempt to do assisted reloads. That said, if you have a duplicate weapon because you asked for one off CD, you might as well attempt to reload your buddy whenever you are in a position to do so. Assisted reloads are essentially instantaneous and make those types of weapons much more powerful. EDIT: @hamishwest7081 thanks for reminding me - LEAVE SAMPLES AT EXTRACTION: If you see samples at extraction, LEAVE THEM ALONE, they are already in the best place possible. If anything, pick them up and immediately drop them in the same spot to add your own samples to the pile. If you are near extraction and it isn't too much trouble, go ahead and drop your samples there if you have any fear at all of losing them. This is especially important on higher difficulties if you are the one with the super samples. EDIT2: Boy, I hope someone reads these. @satanpuncher06 thanks for this - KNOW YOUR TEAM'S POSITIONS: In his comment down there, he mentions to cross behind people instead of in front of them, you are asking to get shot by constantly walking in front of your team. I go a step further and say anytime you are engaging, try to keep one eye on where your friendlies shots are coming from/where they are standing, and think about positioning yourself to give them a clear shot/yourself cover. If you are in an awkward spot in front of your teammates, go crouch/prone, which has the added benefit of improving your accuracy and making you harder to hit for enemies as well as allies.
7:31 A proper side note. If your teammate is already firing at an enemy, it should go without saying that you should AVOID running into his line of fire like a headless chicken. Especially if you're in close proximity of one another...
Lol I started watching this video and got super pumped to play. Then as it continued I remembered how frustrating randoms are and decided to wait for my friends
The first tip is so vital >_< I barely see others do that for me, but I always turn around to help shoot stuff. Sure, I’m usually last in the pack because of it, but at least I have the most kills/shots fired/hits at the end of the mission.
Can confirm: The number of times I've been reinforced 1km+ from the site of my death when there was another teammate 20m from my body is infuriating. A backpack and a support weapon basically double the efficacy of a helldiver.
Quadruple, I either Run heavy Crowd Control or Marksmen. Without my support Weapons I am either a Slow Shotgun dude with no way of fighting a Horde or a Light Marksman with no way of Sniping for Big Boys. I am basically naked and Vulnerable
Every time I play, I always play battle buddy to the loners. At 7 or above and you still see them everywhere. Constantly going off on their own, just to piss our reinforcements away. For this I recommend the jump pack and whatever else you like.
here are some ways you have not mentioned: - don't lead hordes that follow you to an objective someone is busy with - ping a lot: patrols/objectives/titans/chargers etc - follow up when others shoot groups to prevent breaches/save time - stim others if they are low on health and their stimbar is red - resupply when everyone is together - always shoot titan with quazar when it is aggrood, even when it is not following you
Step 1: throw the last reinforcement in the middle of a busy bugnest Step 2: immediately call an airstrike in the same spot Step 3: run away Source: 80% of Helldivers I get teamed up with.
I've played so much monster hunter and other stuff with my brother that this kind of thing has become a given. So often I'll turn to move, see an ally shooting, and make sure to run behind them. It's such a simple thing really
Re: friendly fire: being aware of your teammates positions goes both ways! If I had a super credit for every time I've been laying down fire with a machine gun, laser cannon, etc. Only for another diver to gormlessly run across my firing line and die!😂
The one problem with marking patrols in order to avoid them is that almost every group of randoms I play with takes that as a signal to engage, no matter if we're already fighting another group or heading to extract. Voice comms sometimes help, but some people just want to fight everything.
So, my approach to this is to ping it anyway, then observe my teammates and adjust slightly. I will still ping most things, but once I know my teammates are going to fight every single thing I ping, I will use them to draw aggro and flank. If it was legitimately a stupid fight to take, like we are running low on time/supplies and they aggro a random patrol they could have sneaked past, then I will simply bail and reinforce them if they wipe. This is to be avoided, but thankfully the skill level of the community has been steadily raising for the most part in my experience. Typically my experience has been that people that are obsessed with fighting everything they see make a great distraction, and allow you to approach objectives without having to worry about enemy reinforcements, as the Bot Drops/Bug Breaches go one cooldowns, and then you just have to worry about avoiding patrols.
A couple of nights ago, we had a gear thief in our group. He stole a support weapon from the start of the game after a bad drop. We shrugged it off, because we found a poi flamethrower. Shortly later, I died and as I was walking up to my gear, he stole my arc thrower. I immediately shot him in the head and took it back. He bitched me out on chat and said it was an accident. Then he chased me down and killed me with an airstrike. He was kicked from the game after that.
That's a problem on ur part, if the friend u try to save doesn't have any kind of ammo left, all they can do is run so it looks like they ditching u. Or if their weapons take too long to reload. Just give them cover fire to save them and watch if they have ammo or if they just run so u run too
Im constantly stopping and letting my team catch up. Same with if a new diver drops in. I take a knee and wait for him get his drops and off we go. Coordinating the mission, is another thing altogether. 😂
❤ i have loved all the little tips and tricks from all yo vids over the years, your info raises the average skill and teamwork of the community of all your games you cover. Cant wait for more vids like this!
Best teams have one good scout that farms samples and ambush clears outposts, while the other 3 clear objectives/remaining outposts. The scout is also responsible for stratagem jammers on bot missions-- because sending more than 1 helldiver for a stratjam is actually counterproductive. Scout drops samples at extract/cleans up extract, rendezvous to provide overwatch/anti-heavy. 2 scouts in different directions also works too. The reason you feel like you need your entire team together for a helldive is because your team isn't smart and they attack on sight too often/fail to clear before distress call can get out because of poor planning/situational awareness. You have way too much heat at any given time, and it's your own fault, lol. Had to tell my team to disengage from a growing mob after we completed the mission because they wasted all the reinforcements (I died 0 times) but they were just on autopilot trying to wipe the mob before proceeding. We had like 5 minutes until auto-extract, 0 tickets. Lmao, and they were gonna take on the freshly-dropped tanks and the strider that was getting dropped if I hadn't said something. So I'll add: 1. DON'T start pointless engagements when you can slip by. 2. DON'T bring sentry mortar. 3. Be aware of how much heat you are creating and minimize that at all costs. 4. Don't pick up samples dropped at extract unless you're getting on a drop ship.
The one important time for a speed reinforce is if you're running pairs and are on opposite sides of the map, and you expect to also die within a few seconds. In that case getting your partner down quick is important to make sure you don't both have to reinforce on the other pair and endure a mapwide hike to get your samples. Pretty rare but present sometimes
Tldr because this video is about 10 minutes too long: 1. Check and Protect - Look and listen to signs that your teammates need some backup. You might be able to save reinforcements. - Wait to hop into the evac. Make sure everyone can get in safely. 2. Reinforce Smart, Not Fast - Be patient with throwing reinforcements. - Bring people back near their supplies if possible. - Don't reinforce people in the middle of a horde where they may die again. 3. Don't be a Traitor with Friendly Fire - Exactly what it sounds like. Use some situational awareness. 4. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work (the most useful tip) - Consider the roles your equipment is suited for. Adjust your equipment based on what others are bringing - Anti heavy: killing the biggest enemies with the biggest weapons - Anti large: effective against the medium armor enemies - Horde clear: dealing with lots of small enemies - Control: weapons that stun enemies like the punisher or ems strikes - Destruction: taking out objectives from a distance without hell bombs 5. Sharing is Caring - Ping stuff, be smart with resupply, give stims, etc
I can reinforce pretty fast and usually throw it as close as I can to where they died, or if they died close enough but there's a bunch of enemies nearby, just throw them the other side of where I am so they can get the enemy from behind, and I'll usually wait for a closer player to reinforce them, but after a bit I'll throw as close to their death as I can
Two types of divers: 1. throw me where I died and in a safe area 2.Nah use me as the strategem against the bile titan that killed me, I want to bathe in his blood
This Video has to be part of the Tutorial! One addition, "Don't bite off more as you can chew" explanation, i dived into a Suicide mission only to see there is a level 6 and level 7, at this level you're not nearly equiped or experienced enough to handle yourself. In the end the other level 40+ and i pretty much played babysitters trying to keep them two alive, with more or less success. A rule i followed, if you're not able to handle brood commanders, spewers and/or multiples, don't even think at going against chargers etc could also call that "Play smart, not hard"
I had a guy who, when I died, stole my sheild BP. Then, when he died, I took it back before I reinforced him because the cooldown was still 3 mins out. He then immedietly shoots me the second he spawns, because how dare I take my equipment back, and then when another teammate respanes me he doesnt care and rushes me to kill me again. What an A-Hole. So, to add to the video's points, if you borrow someone equipment, give it back when you get to them next.
I run the supply pack, the punisher shotgun, the grenade launcher, and the HMG emplacement, I can fill out some roles that usually aren't filled. The stagger on the punisher can really help out my team if they get surrounded, and the grenade launcher can shred most of the stuff that had them surrounded in the first place, while doing some stagger in the process. If we have gunship issues, the HMG emplacement can deal with them, while also being able to take down all the devastators. It can also take out Hulks
9:10 easiest is probably the best way to describe sticking together remember clearing that base with 2 hulks and a high canon in the middle in about a minute with no bot drop because even though we started attacking quietly from the same side which was behind the canon everyone took a different route into/around the base and handled their own enemies and left the fabricators alone till after it was cleared so anyone alive wasn’t immediately alerted.
Very much needed video. The number of times the other three people in the team have just run off and left me while I was reloading an auto cannon or recoilless is just ridiculous. I even once had a guy literally see me getting bundled by a big swarm of bugs and just left me there. That’s usually my que to abandon the match tbh. That and watching someone who could blatantly reinforce me just running round the map without a care in the world.
The other day, we somehow ended up partially in the middle of 4 bot bases, with bots coming at us from literally every direction. The guy in the back was still on the outer edge, in the closest thing to a 'safe' area. He and one of the others used 6 reinforcements, just chucking them into the middle of the hordes in whatever direction they were facing.
"Common battlefield courtesy!" Thanks, I learned a lot and will incorporate the new strategies to the best of my abilities. I think the reinforcement clues and covering was very valuable. When you think about it, it's very logical but that's how the mind works (or better doesn't work).
Not just saving the reinforcement, but keeping your teamate alive allows him to keep throwing down strategems, fire, and not having to recast his own secondaries, its pretty obvious, but its all multiplicative towards success
Arc throwers expose F tier players. We have a bloke in our org that always uses the Arc and he constantly team kills. He keeps saying "just wear the 90% reduced arc damage armour" despite us preferring 30% more throw or 2x extra stims/nades... I finally told him this week, "no, you learn to use that weapon or don't use it at all" Arcs are not hard to use, for anyone with at least a double digit IQ.
Yeah the arc damage armor is legit the worst in the game, it is only useful for preventing very specific team kills. You could run with tesla tower to allow yourself to stand nearer to it, but honestly that's probably a bad habit either way, so unless that's your strat to aggro enemies into it, the armor is pretty worthless. Only use that if you have a very specific idea in mind, asking your teammates to sacrifice your armor buff so you can shoot them like a jackass is cringe. Especially since I've seen people use the arc thrower in such a way that friendly fire is rarely a concern, it's just a skill issue. Just tell him that if he's gonna use the arc thrower, he needs to learn to only use it on enemies in front of him, and not make wild 90 degree turns with it.
This can be summed up pretty easily: Don't be an asshole. Seriously, pretty much all games will feel easier and be more fun when people cooperate just a little bit.
I don't know but I had a weird day today. I had a run where I somehow shotgunned the same teammate three times over the course of 30 minutes and each time was on complete accident and they didn't even really do anything special for it to happen. Just thought that I'd let you all know that if you find me on the battlefield some day then maybe stay away a bit. Anyways, very informative video!
Tips I've Discovered: 1) People probably know that reinforcement pods can crush most enemies, BUT it can be hard to see enemies sometimes from that blurry overhead perspective. However, marked enemies WILL show up on the screen when dropping in with the icon being exactly (I believe) where the enemy is, so if you want an ally to squish a Charger or Bile Titan, mark the enemy so that reinforcing people know to land on the red targeter. (For friendly fire reasons, its helpful to communicate this or to always do it so your teammates know what to expect and don't call attack strategems on you) 2) Unlike Helldivers 1, equipment can be requested multiple times. Everyone can carry a heavy weapon and a backpack, so if someone didn't bring one or the other, and you're sure you won't need it for a while, you might consider calling in a duplicate for them. Plus, if you're carrying an Autocannon or Recoilless, giving them a copy of your backpack may entice them to team reload you in moments where you really need it. (That being said, Equipment cooldowns are LONG and Equipment Call Ins are also great to drop on unsuspecting armored enemies, so I understand the hesitation.) 3) You can drop Research Samples from the 'drop equipment' menu (default hold X key on keyboard). If you need to go back into danger, like to go get other dropped samples, go ahead and drop your own at the shuttle or a teammate so you don't lose them too.
if your teammate is stuck and is not nearby you please dont come to help them. you will spend a lot of time and probably will be stuck too. the better solution is to let them die, reinforce nearby you and come back to the death spot later when its safe to collect samples (if they had them) and if youre the one who is stuck alone in a hopeless situation just accept your death and dont waste effort and time but most of the time ppl are not stuck, they just pointlessly try to kill em all when they cant or dont really have to do so. tactical retreat is your most valuable option on higher difficulties
Another thing to add on point 3 for friendly fire, don’t walk in front of someone who is actively firing when you can avoid it. I usually like doing horde clear with the stalwart or MG. I have a friend who expects you to play around them so they constantly walk through my cone of fire . Like literally walk 5 ft over and you would be behind me and not get shot. Or stay to the side/behind me to shoot them, you didn’t need to go in front of me to shoot them… Then of course gets mad at me
Regarding speed reinforcing, sometimes when you're too far to see what's happening there, you might assume the horde there is too much for one person to hold, so reinforcing dead player in your position and then diving together with them might be better idea than waiting for second player to get mauled as well. It all depends on circumstances really
It's normal to see these mistakes made by teammates once in a while, but there was a time that I played with randoms who did all the mistakes mentioned on the Video at the same time, when all of the mistakes are made in the same mission, it gets so frustrating 😫
Great tips. Should be a mandatory video. And this is probably just me, but I say leave people's samples alone unless you're out of reinforcements. I've had people kill me, take my samples, and then die 100 feet from the extract with them while we're being swarmed, unable to recover the stuff I would've had on me if you hadn't decided to run off on your own at some point. Better to split them, so that you all get something at least if only a couple Helldivers survive.
Hey man, long time viewer of your main channel, followed you since late warhammer 1. Absolutely love this fresh content. My only complaint is that I thought for a day or 2 that you were completely new to TH-cam. Idk how it work but please add your main channel in the description somewhere. You deserve as much attention as possible please keep up this quality love it
BIG DISAGREEMENT with the 2nd tip: it is NOT always the best idea to reinforce a teammate right where they died, since usually they died there for a reason and enemies most likely are there. (I’ve seen it happen to myself and others TOO many times) And then on top of that, I have played with SO many people that will simply leave a mission if they aren’t reinforced “fast” enough. Which leaves you a man down until someone joins and fills the spot. (Which isn’t guaranteed to even happen) I think one of the better tips for reinforcing is that if is if you are in a party where the people have split up into two parties for some reason, if someone in the other party dies somewhere far away on the map then let his teammate call in his reinforcement so they can get back into the battle and get their stuff. If they get reinforced on the other side of the map then that leaves the other HellDiver pretty much screwed on his own. Hence ANOTHER reason to NOT split up and just STICK TOGETHER
Splitting up can be viable if you accept that risk. I would say to play it by ear because sometimes having two fire teams makes the game very easy. But yeah, if one fire team wipes that is that, time to push together and only decide to recover your stuff on the other side if you have time. Yeah he probably could have been a bit more clear, but if you are going to drop someone where they died, make sure to clear the area first. If it's dicey, then drop them safely behind you while you attempt to clear it. That way if the two of you start to get overwhelmed, at least you both survived. As for people that are too impatient to look at the screen and see that there isn't a good time/place to reinforce, you are probably better off without them. Yeah it sucks to lose a man and have less firepower/stratagems to work with, but a person that isn't aware enough to see that they have to wait isn't going to offer much and deserves to lose the xp, even waiting for a mission fail screen is better than rage quitting because you died and have to wait to get revived.
I would say 70% of random teams i join have been pretty solid. Which is good these days. I have just as much fun with randoms as i do with friends, which again is good these days. Always watch my fellow helldivers backs anyway i can ❤
FF has lead to some wild "You Absolute Mother Fucker!" moments. like trying to toss a cluster bomb stratagem getting knocked with a wayward impact, then wiping the team with your clusterbomb.
Good video, and I appreciate you going over classes for the people who still think they should be a 1 man army at all times. Arc thrower is horde clear/A-L/A-H imo.
I wish I could use the link to this video as my in-game name so every random that I play with can find their way here and learn a thing or two. Especially that thing about reinforcing.
When it comes to friendly fire, don't just have trigger discipline, also check your own positioning. 'Caus i once had this guy on my team that just runs into my line of fire whilst I'm spraying a hail of bullets at the enemies. I've learned to not stop firing when that happens because when I did hold my fire we both ended up dieing as he just kept standing wherever i aim 24/7. On the bright side, only 39 friendly fire kills in my 170 hours of playing so all in all I'm not doing too bad on that front.
Zerk: "For God's sake, don't drop stratagems on your teammates' heads"
Average Clusterbomb user: "...and I took that personally"
Average 380mm Barrage user:
I watch people run towards a stratagem that's been tossed way way ahead of them all the time and then complain that I took them out while they run towards a swarm with one stim and an AR23 to clear that swarm. I laugh and then ask what were they thinking?
@@mdh1775 And in real life no one would complain, except maybe that one office worker that has to send more death notification letters, as they committed suicide by running into live fire and could no longer complain about it.
Bro this is so true I fucking love Helldivers 😂
The sad Part : The PPL who need to see this will never see it , cause they dont care
Truth bro!!!!
Except me, as a noob this is extremely useful.😅
It would be funny if the ship showed videos explaining these things, like those videos of accidents during construction work.
For real
Same players that get angry that you pick up "their" samples.
Truth
I've kicked people for throwing us into hordes of enemies ngl. I always throw my allies AWAY from the enemies... unless its a bile Titan .. if its a Titan i throw them at it to try and kill it@morganharvey2041
@@midnightzgamer20k There’s a subtle balance that depend on a number of factors certainly. But what you don’t do is reinforce then just run off - I always wait and keep watch til they’ve landed and grabbed their gear. Same with friend doors and poi’s. It’s just basic small unit tactics.
0:40 "I came running to help him" Uses a flamethrower and damn near puts him out of his misery.
almost only counts in horseshoes
yeah i would not recommend shooting near a teammate because spread or just a misplaced crosshair can be deadly. Also they might unpredictably strafe into your fire
This is why I like accurate fast firing weapons like the sickle. Perfect for clearing hordes even when someone is being mauled by said horde
well... putting him out of his misery is kinda helping him no? respawn will more stims and ammo. hahahahahaha
"But did you die?" 😂
"If they're covered in red dots maybe they need some help" I laughed so much at this.
This is my exact favorite job right now, down to the same strategems
Can confirm, a sniper loadout is extremely fun!
Oh and the buffed diligence counter sniper is NOT bad
It's like a mini anti material rifle so
Definitely pair it with a laser cannon or...just use amr! xdd
But yeah I love protecting my team
One piece of advice I never see mentioned, always collect samples even if you no longer need them, because you can help out a teammate. I see too many max levels ignoring samples.
exactly. it never hurts to just grab them
Couldn’t agree more!
You didn't mention hugs. Every team is better with hugs.
Free Hugs!
Scout Handshake
Make it a D.A.R.E ad: Hugs not bugs.
Ok but also don't ask for hugs when we're still in the game and there's a huge mob right behind you oh god start shooting dammit
This!!!! 😂
This should be a required to watch before playing video.
Not watching this should be deemed the same as treason.
Lord_borne needs to watch this. For he is a lvl101, yet still a complete chocolate starfish.
Saving a teammate also often saves time, which is often a more important resource. It takes a few seconds to get them back in, but then the thing they were doing is probably still worth doing, so the team needs to secure the area, move in, and do the thing. They also need to grab their weapons and samples back in most cases. Spending 20-30 seconds helping them out can save them 1-2 minutes of recovery time, which adds up over the course of a mission.
we have to spread this video for democracy!!!! c'mon hellbro!
Saving a random from certain death is a wonderful feeling lol you feel like a badass while being wholesome 😂
I did this with a bud just now, died to a hulk that was going after us and was like "Mark the bitch, I'm coming in hot!" Such satisfying teamwork.
12:44 slick jetpack dodge on that charger
The jump pack is so inconvenient, actually. It works like once every hour, never when it counts
edit: skill issue, obviously
ZERK TACTICS! Use them, or die trying!
Friend: "I have two chargers on me OH MY GOD!!!"
Me: "I'm here! I drew aggro! Oh god!!!"
Friend: "We need to do the main objective, we're running out of time." Leaves me with two chargers, wonders where I am when he gets to the objective.
For some people every game is a single player game
12:14 beautiful 🥲 helltears are coming out of my helmet as I watch such display of camaraderie and teamwork. 😭✨
Great video, essential watching IMO. I prefer "Anti-Elite" to "Anti-Large," just a nit pick but I feel it's more descriptive. My additional tip for your next video/readers here:
USE YOUR PINGLISH.
For this I recommend the jump pack and whatever else you like.
here are some ways you have not mentioned:
- don't lead hordes that follow you to an objective someone is busy with
- ping a lot: patrols/objectives/titans/chargers etc
- follow up when others shoot groups to prevent breaches/save time
- stim others if they are low on health and their stimbar is red
- resupply when everyone is together
- always shoot titan with quazar when it is aggrood, even when it is not following you
HOW ABOUT NOT LANDING ON ME WHEN I HAVE THE SUPER SAMPLES RIGHT AS WERE EXTRACTING!!
Step 1: throw the last reinforcement in the middle of a busy bugnest
Step 2: immediately call an airstrike in the same spot
Step 3: run away
Source: 80% of Helldivers I get teamed up with.
Forgot step 4 kick me from the party for dying afterwards
More importantly, you could save a hellbro's sample container.
Stun grenades are great for protecting allies Sure the guy may complain you stunned, him, but he can still shoot, and the bug is not eating him.
Literally just picking complimentary stratagems and not running around like John Wick is all it takes.
I often check on my friends at the back of the group, and when I help they usually ditch me with the enemy.
So I'll add:
1. DON'T start pointless engagements when you can slip by.
2. DON'T bring sentry mortar.
3. Be aware of how much heat you are creating and minimize that at all costs.
4. Don't pick up samples dropped at extract unless you're getting on a drop ship.
THIS is what I want in my games. Its so much more fun to play with a team instead of 3 solo players.
6:35 bro that felt PERSONAL lmao
he straight up turned, executed you, then kept running.
Certainly a cathartic TK video. Glad I found your new channel @Zerk and to see you bringing managed democracy to a new galaxy ✊
Tldr because this video is about 10 minutes too long:
1. Check and Protect
- Look and listen to signs that your teammates need some backup. You might be able to save reinforcements.
- Wait to hop into the evac. Make sure everyone can get in safely.
2. Reinforce Smart, Not Fast
- Be patient with throwing reinforcements.
- Bring people back near their supplies if possible.
- Don't reinforce people in the middle of a horde where they may die again.
3. Don't be a Traitor with Friendly Fire
- Exactly what it sounds like. Use some situational awareness.
4. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work (the most useful tip)
- Consider the roles your equipment is suited for. Adjust your equipment based on what others are bringing
- Anti heavy: killing the biggest enemies with the biggest weapons
- Anti large: effective against the medium armor enemies
- Horde clear: dealing with lots of small enemies
- Control: weapons that stun enemies like the punisher or ems strikes
- Destruction: taking out objectives from a distance without hell bombs
5. Sharing is Caring
- Ping stuff, be smart with resupply, give stims, etc
I can reinforce pretty fast and usually throw it as close as I can to where they died, or if they died close enough but there's a bunch of enemies nearby, just throw them the other side of where I am so they can get the enemy from behind, and I'll usually wait for a closer player to reinforce them, but after a bit I'll throw as close to their death as I can
Two types of divers:
1. throw me where I died and in a safe area
2.Nah use me as the strategem against the bile titan that killed me, I want to bathe in his blood
That jetpack double dodge at 12:45, *chef’s kiss*
lol but for real, great video!
If you’re holding a strategem marker and get ragdolled, it will drop and get called in next to you.
A rule i followed, if you're not able to handle brood commanders, spewers and/or multiples, don't even think at going against chargers etc
could also call that "Play smart, not hard"
I had a guy who, when I died, stole my sheild BP. Then, when he died, I took it back before I reinforced him because the cooldown was still 3 mins out. He then immedietly shoots me the second he spawns, because how dare I take my equipment back, and then when another teammate respanes me he doesnt care and rushes me to kill me again. What an A-Hole.
So, to add to the video's points, if you borrow someone equipment, give it back when you get to them next.
Didn't learn a single thing, but my God this should be included with the tutorial of the game before anyone can play.
Easy life saying I have about mistakes versus being knowingly reckless: Ignorance can be fixed, arrogance cannot.
9:10 easiest is probably the best way to describe sticking together
remember clearing that base with 2 hulks and a high canon in the middle in about a minute with no bot drop because even though we started attacking quietly from the same side which was behind the canon everyone took a different route into/around the base and handled their own enemies and left the fabricators alone till after it was cleared so anyone alive wasn’t immediately alerted.
Also: stay together, dammit! If you're joining someone else's game, follow the host.
"Common battlefield courtesy!"
Thanks, I learned a lot and will incorporate the new strategies to the best of my abilities.
I finally told him this week, "no, you learn to use that weapon or don't use it at all"
Arcs are not hard to use, for anyone with at least a double digit IQ.
I think its fine to pick up gear and deal with an immediate threat. But then reload it, drop it (hold x) and MARK it.
Tips I've Discovered:
1) People probably know that reinforcement pods can crush most enemies, BUT it can be hard to see enemies sometimes from that blurry overhead perspective. However, marked enemies WILL show up on the screen when dropping in with the icon being exactly (I believe) where the enemy is, so if you want an ally to squish a Charger or Bile Titan, mark the enemy so that reinforcing people know to land on the red targeter. (For friendly fire reasons, its helpful to communicate this or to always do it so your teammates know what to expect and don't call attack strategems on you)
2) Unlike Helldivers 1, equipment can be requested multiple times. (That being said, Equipment cooldowns are LONG and Equipment Call Ins are also great to drop on unsuspecting armored enemies, so I understand the hesitation.)
3) You can drop Research Samples from the 'drop equipment' menu (default hold X key on keyboard). If you need to go back into danger, like to go get other dropped samples, go ahead and drop your own at the shuttle or a teammate so you don't lose them too.
if your teammate is stuck and is not nearby you please dont come to help them. you will spend a lot of time and probably will be stuck too. the better solution is to let them die, reinforce nearby you and come back to the death spot later when its safe to collect samples (if they had them)
and if youre the one who is stuck alone in a hopeless situation just accept your death and dont waste effort and time
but most of the time ppl are not stuck, they just pointlessly try to kill em all when they cant or dont really have to do so. tactical retreat is your most valuable option on higher difficulties
Ah Sun Tzu, I believe he also said "he who smelt it dealt it"
Another thing to add on point 3 for friendly fire, don’t walk in front of someone who is actively firing when you can avoid it. I usually like doing horde clear with the stalwart or MG. I have a friend who expects you to play around them so they constantly walk through my cone of fire .
Like literally walk 5 ft over and you would be behind me and not get shot. Or stay to the side/behind me to shoot them, you didn’t need to go in front of me to shoot them…
Then of course gets mad at me
Regarding speed reinforcing, sometimes when you're too far to see what's happening there, you might assume the horde there is too much for one person to hold, so reinforcing dead player in your position and then diving together with them might be better idea than waiting for second player to get mauled as well.
Unlike some degenerates who kick people because they die too much(Happened to me), I try to protect my teammates all the time I see an oppurtunity.
I literally got chased by a hulk for like 3 minutes asking for help while the weakspots was exposed to my teammates and they just did nothing.
Hey man, long time viewer of your main channel, followed you since late warhammer 1. Absolutely love this fresh content. My only complaint is that I thought for a day or 2 that you were completely new to TH-cam. Idk how it work but please add your main channel in the description somewhere. You deserve as much attention as possible please keep up this quality love it
Can’t count how many times I’ve been reinforced into a fire tornado
Love this. Check & Protect! Haven't seen a proper video like this.
6. If some arms a Hellbomb, do not run towards the Hellbomb.
Looking at you G3.
Another thing is teammates that die on cooldown constantly spamming to be reinforced asap
Another tip for the “reinforce with care” tip, ping their sh**! It makes it SO much easier for them to quickly gather up their gear.
This makes me super grateful that I have regular friends to play and communicate with 😂

Anybody else flashback to the death of John Marston?
BIG DISAGREEMENT with the 2nd tip: it is NOT always the best idea to reinforce a teammate right where they died, since usually they died there for a reason and enemies most likely are there. (I’ve seen it happen to myself and others TOO many times)
And then on top of that, I have played with SO many people that will simply leave a mission if they aren’t reinforced “fast” enough. Which leaves you a man down until someone joins and fills the spot. (Which isn’t guaranteed to even happen)
I think one of the better tips for reinforcing is that if is if you are in a party where the people have split up into two parties for some reason, if someone in the other party dies somewhere far away on the map then let his teammate call in his reinforcement so they can get back into the battle and get their stuff.
Always watch my fellow helldivers backs anyway i can ❤
I encountered some really petty people. we did the full mission at the extraction the host burned all players and then left
Thank you for that great video. If you ask me , it should play on theTV aboard the ship so everyone would be better ! 😀
Brasch would be proud...
One might think i've become a dodge master by evading stalkers or shriekers but in actuality is by constantly dodging "friendly" fire all the time lol
whichever team I am on, MOST of the time, they toss me in the direction of the horde of enemies expecting me to take them all on BY MYSELF.
My friends play like every dead helldiver is a step towards getting our C-01 permits back and I love them for it.
FF has lead to some wild "You Absolute Mother Fucker!" moments. like trying to toss a cluster bomb stratagem getting knocked with a wayward impact, then wiping the team with your clusterbomb.
I like to run the supply pack and the armor that gives more stems to be the team medic.
I only TK'd one guy that hoppes into the ship while the other two were far away and we had plenty of time
Good video, and I appreciate you going over classes for the people who still think they should be a 1 man army at all times. Arc thrower is horde clear/A-L/A-H imo.
I wish I could use the link to this video as my in-game name so every random that I play with can find their way here and learn a thing or two. Especially that thing about reinforcing.
This should be required reading for people who use the cluster bomb.
11:30 2 people running arc throwers is plenty to clear hordes, not sure I’m following your graph here
When it comes to friendly fire, don't just have trigger discipline, also check your own positioning.
