I gave my old 1982 highly modified Gov't model to my son. It appears not much has changed other than MIM parts and specialized competition race pistols. Information is much more available through the net. Whereas in the past, word of mouth, gun books, monthly magazines, and local training like Gunsite in AZ were the sources of information. Nowadays, there's just too many unreliable information on the net! Glad to see you're one of the best informative channel on TH-cam.

Jay, you should look into "Make Ready with Hilton Yam: 1911 Duty Tune". It's a DVD where Hilton goes over improving/tuning of a Springfield Operator for duty use.
It’s a good model but I feel the Range Officer Operator is a better value as you don’t pay for the window dressing on the TRP, especially if you upgrade parts.
