Hindsight , namely! Ofc someone is going to be repulsively "unattractive" when you associate their looks with a serial killer which is why it's hard to understand now, but I've actually looked into this because I didn't understand in kind. Media says he was "attractive" bc of the simple fact he used his looks to lure people in. That doesn't happen nearly as easily if someone is conventionally "unattractive". Ted Bundy was well groomed, wore proper outfits, kept himself lean, had fairly balanced facial features, and didn't have any distinguishing features like massive scars that would lend to "unnattractiveness" or make himself seem like someone to hesitate around. Pairing this with a feigned injury to make himself seem softer and safer, he could use conventionally "attractive" details to lure in women around his age. A this in comparison to "unattractive" unkempt, messy looks, disgifuration, overly muscular, bad smelling, poorly groomed features. "Attractive" and "unattractive" in quotes bc I personally don't really believe physical looks are what decide attractive vs unattractive; personality does. But by traditional beauty standards, there is a difference in the physical of the two, even if it changes over time.

I’m assuming you are only about serial killers who were caught as otherwise surely The Zodiac Killer & Jack the Ripper make the list. Killers like these animals have to prey on people that weren't loved properly. a lot of these happened a long time ago as well, but it still haunts their family. its a shame.
Some of them were raised with loving families, married women who adored them, had kids who looked up to the works they did in their public life. They're just screwed up.
Since when did a short time of "good behavior" undo the seriousness of multiple murders? Ridiculous. No mentally healthy person would ever murder someone. It's not within our moral ability to do so. At that point, there is so much wrong with this person to the degree that "good behavior" wouldn't be a strong factor to indicate that the problem was taken care of and that the person was safe enough to be let back into society.

Ed Kemper is a real man who killed very real people. Please don't disrespect his victims by calling him a "character" like he's just the big bad wolf in a children's book.... you forget this is real life. This really happened.
For me the night-stalker is the most feared eventhough he is this time not mentioned. Understandable, because you have to choose when making a video. He broke into random houses and killed everyone inside in their sleep. Literally everyone could become its victim. You where even vulnerable if you where for example a MMA-fighter because he surprised people when they where sleeping in their own house.
See I've kinda thought that too, that Gein was (as killers go) more of a gatherer than a hunter, if that makes sense. I couldn't personally call him a serial killer in the same breath as Bundy or Ridgeway.
He was suspected of seven murders but could only be convicted to two due to the lack of evidence. Yes he did grace rob too but technically he was still a serial kill

I don't understand why media says Ted Bundy was so good looking. I've never met one single person that's ever said he's even remotely attractive.
@@blane-liso Very Well Said!!
I was gonna try to exit but you did it so much better than I could. Thank You for addressing this and so very well done!!
I believe it’s just Zac Efron’s Netflix series that everyone is thirsting over, not the actual Ted Bundy
Yeah I don't get it either. He's not good looking.
I think for some people like myself he is handsome
I’m really surprised that Richard Ramirez isn’t on this list. I’ve watched “The Night Stalker” on Netflix multiple times and that guy gives me chills every time. I’m convinced he was the devil reincarnated at this point.
Yeah he looks creepy asf
Amazing series tho
When Canadian serial killers are mentioned, it's always Bernardo and Holmoka or The Pig Farmer. No one ever mentions one of Canada's worst serial killers, Clifford Olson Jr. He was terrifying. If no one knows this case, look it up. It's disturbing.
Weird that mobsters are never on the list. The Gemini killings, Sam Gravano, Murder Inc, Nicky Scarfo and Greg Scarpa would all easily qualify as serial killers
I don't know anything about those cases but in some instances, a mobster may have ordered many deaths, but unless they pulled the trigger themselves so to speak, it's not considered serial killing. Then again, there are probably those mobsters who did do a lot of the dirty work themselves.
Different motivation. Gang members aren’t considered serial killers either
Karla homolka is very disturbing that even her smiling picture gives me the chills
fact that's she is free, has a family and lives like nothing happened gives me the creeps and makes me mad at the canadian justice system.

Albert fish geniunely the most disturbing man ever. And hes not insane. Just plain cruel being
The interviews are the creepiest part for me... the casual, almost nonchalant way they describe their crimes is just... unnerving
Did a project on John Wayne Gacy for my forensics class in high school… that one house they went to wasn’t even his first house after he started killing… the number of murders he committed is thought to be over 80 in reality… they found 29 in that one house… can you imagine? Dude was seriously fucked up
There’s believed to be bodies buried under the property that his mother’s apt was/is. The police refused to dig in the places where there were noticeable anomalies while using underground radar. In fact the only spot they did dig in, which was only after a gentleman who lived in the area and had known Gacy finally convinced them to, was a spot where a giant bush had been growing and there was obviously nothing there
Even looking at some of these people makes me feel uncomfortable

I have heard a theory that the reason López can't be 'located' is because someone offed him relatively early on after he was released, and the authorities were just like 'Oh Pedro López is dead? Oh, where is he? Oh that's right, I could care less.
I believe this is the case. It's very unlikely he is still alive. For one thing you'd be hearing a lot more about the victims and it would be a horror story. Someone like him will not be able to resist or hide for that long. He was saved the first time a tribe tried to kill him. I don't think he'd be so lucky a second time
@@lolly5657unless Pedro Lopez fled Colombia to a country he hadn’t been in before
Why isn't Herb Baumeister, Belle Gunness, Richard Ramirez, and the Zodiac Killer on the list?
And Gary Ridgway the 'famous' green river killer
I’m assuming you are only about serial killers who were caught as otherwise surely The Zodiac Killer & Jack the Ripper make the list. Also how can you not include the Nightstalker - he was arguably more terrifying than some of these as he would break in to houses & kill literally anyone. Male, female - young, old no one was safe
Exactly! I was wonder why Richard Ramirez was not included in this list ....
They forgot Zodiac who claimed his victims would be his slaves when he'd be reborn in paradise. They also forgot Aileen Wuornous who tried to avoid death by ludicrously claiming all seven victims attacked her.
How on earth is Gary Ridgeway not on here 😂
Heres something i find interesting. I live in the town where Samantha Koenig was abducted from in Alaska. I remember hearing about her abduction and that her body was found soon after. Bur this is literally the first time hearing her killer's name or any other details about him. I wonder if its because he was found out of state. Being in Alaska, there is that level of disconnect between here and the rest of the country.
What about John Christie ? Didn't he (the actual serial killer) testifie as a witness in court against Timothy Evans (husband of his latest victim), who was then sentenced to death.
Yup. He literally testified as a witness in court to help an innocent man be found guilty for crimes he himself committed. It's disturbing and crazy and feels more like something out of a crime drama than real life but I guess truth is stranger and sometimes more disturbing than fiction
The “chessboard killer “ and haig the acid bath murderer deserve a mention
Acid bath murder sound absolutely horrific. 😢
@@spongebobsjellyfishhe was a nutter in the uk in the early 20th century who used the law at that stage that “if there was no body , there was no crime “

The case helped change the law in the uk to be able to convict without a body
You should’ve mentioned Richard Ramirez
2:00 damn, so that was the inspiration for that Law&Order: SVU episode
There was also an SVU episode inspired by BTK with a serial killer by the name of RDK
ive read about most of, if not all of these serial killers but 3 that werent mentioned stick out to me more than most of the ones here. albert fish being the exception. tommy lynn sells, specifically the book 'through the window' is absolutely insane. the other 2, lawrence bittaker and roy norris "the tool box killers" are also really hard to read about, they worked together over just a few months time.
Can’t forget about Gary ridgeway either
I agree 100% something about Bittaker shook me to my core. He was so homely but there was something in his eyes that bore into people. The way he described what he did when he was other stand was chilling. The thought of those poor young girls alone out there is heartbreaking. I've watched docs on pretty much all of the serial killers and they all are scary but Bittaker/Norris stuck with me for quite a while.
One of my friends Gran’s was a patient of Harold Shipman, she was a former GP herself, she spoke about how Shipman tried to administer his favourite killer drug but my friends Gran questioned Shipman knowing what it can do, Shipman stopped trying to administer the drug and left when my friend showed up at his Grans house to check up on her, two weeks later he is being arrested on suspicion of multiple accounts or murder
i love whenever watch mojo does lists like this which can be viewed as tragic they don't do a top ten
Killers like these animals have to prey on people that weren't loved properly. a lot of these happened a long time ago as well, but it still haunts their family. its a shame.
Some of them were raised with loving families, married women who adored them, had kids who looked up to the works they did in their public life. They're just screwed up.
Dean Corll is the reason why parents say to their kids don't take candy from strangers
How did you forget Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, The Moors Murders?
Since when did a short time of "good behavior" undo the seriousness of multiple murders? Ridiculous. No mentally healthy person would ever murder someone. It's not within our moral ability to do so. At that point, there is so much wrong with this person to the degree that "good behavior" wouldn't be a strong factor to indicate that the problem was taken care of and that the person was safe enough to be let back into society.
The butcher baker had a protégé.....his map had 21 Xs on it and he readily admitted to 17 of them being his.... he refused to claim those last 4..... he had a protégé, who is still out there.
Why do these lists never have Luis Garavito? According to Wikipedia, he's the most prolific serial killer in world history. And yet, there's very little about him online.
Was not aware of a few of these and have watched many SK documentaries
Interesting

Israel Keyes and David Parker Ray terrify me, just the sheer brutality of the crimes
Keyes taking that picture when she was already gone is so chilling.
Now do the cute and cuddly serial killers next!
How do you make the choice from one killer getting 10 consecutive life sentences to another getting the death penalty. You might as well give both of them the death penalty. I don't live in the United States so American justice system boggles me sometimes.
Each state has its' own laws regarding sentencing. Some states have the death penalty, others do not.
Born and raised and I'm baffled too.
The man is convicted of over 100 killings and claims it’s over 300, and then gets released on good behavior…
LOL I know right. Those are not the droids you're looking for.
Dude, no Zodiac? Son of Sam? Arthur Shawcross? I do love Ed Kemper, though. Such an incredibly fascinating character.
You love him?
Shawcross is an absolute monster!
Ed Kemper is a real man who killed very real people. Please don't disrespect his victims by calling him a "character" like he's just the big bad wolf in a children's book.... you forget this is real life. This really happened.
Zodiac wasn't caught and isn't 100% confirmed
@@lukemckee3970 Yeah, he was wild.

Surprised to not see Richard Ramirez here.
Commits 100+ murders and released for good behavior? Wtf??
Ed gain was barely a serial killer. He was graverobber and only killed 1 or 2 people. You could have included gary Ridgeway.
See I've kinda thought that too, that Gein was (as killers go) more of a gatherer than a hunter, if that makes sense. I couldn't personally call him a serial killer in the same breath as Bundy or Ridgeway.

Yup at lowest on list
Israel Keyes is the most disturbing. No pattern. The most labor intensive surpassing Gacy. That is why age determines the length of their careers. Labor intensive. Body disposal. Sprucing up or obfuscation of the crime scene. Keyes is the worst.
How could not include mass murder like Blair, Clinton, familie Bush... ?!

"the wacko douche strikes again" or something like that... wouldn't that stop them or make them feel embarrassed or humiliated by their own actions..
Isn't that a South Park episode?
There is a crime series, maybe Bones, ever they did say they wouldn't publicly nickname the killer because of what that would do to his body count.
One of the biggest mysteries in the history of serial killers is why H,H Holmes killed and there was never a confirmed answer because he was a huge liar
Because he could. Sometimes there really isn't a why more than that.
There has to be a why whether it is something simple like they just want to do it or for something else complicated like personal reasons
