You are right, you can watch it over and over (I have seen it hundreds of times by now). You can discover new things every time you see it (well at least for the few dozend times :)). It is a true passion project, you can tell from the writing, the acting, the production. Yes it comes with goofy effects and strange lighting; It is not a AAA movie, it is a passion project. You only realize how good it is when it ends after a mere 40 minutes and you are crying. Crying for Penny, Crying for Billy, Crying for Captain Hammer. It will emotionally affect you. As you point out the Good Guy being the Bad Guy and the Bad Guy being the Good Guy makes it interesting. But this is deeper, there is a third layer that is like the top. This deserves to be a classic that everybody should know.
