This what I love about Mary, she sings of love and faith but also sings songs like this that are a true ministry to those of us who have lost loved ones and are working through the grieving process. She signs the song with such sincerity that I'm certain she knows what she is singing about.
This is a sad song but a helpful one .I lost our baby daughter and we never got to say goodbye ,my mother i never got to say goodbye to and there were indded many things left unsaid .Also my wonderful dad ,who's death i never found out about for 22yrs due to the fact he'd started a new life in another country but always loved his children and wanted them to know o his passing ,my delightful elder sister decided i shouldn't be told and found out yrs later .

The first time I'd heard this I'd just reread a compilation I had posted elsewhere several years previous, and the combination of the two brought me low. The compilation was titled "The Gatekeepers at the Rainbow Bridge", and it was a series of articles tying together the factual Rainbow Bridge (New York - Ontario), the Rainbow Bridge poetic essay, and a volunteer program some hospices and hospitals have wherein people, often complete strangers, sit with those close to passing, so that no one would have to die alone.
@kavanaugh77 but nonetheless- and that is because it was made to have soothing quality for those in need of it. Mary Duff is a wonderful woman for taking out this special song and if you don't like it then push off and leave people with their sorrows, instead of trying to start a debate.
@kavanaugh77 Don't be so incredibly insensitive! Firstly, Mary Duff is a quality singer, end of that discussion. Secondly, this song has helped many people through difficult times, mostly passing's of beloved relatives. I am currently watching one of my most caring relatives go through her final stages and she will probably be dead by Christmas. This is the first song I turned to-which will be followed by Green Day's 'Wake me up, when September ends',which is completely irrelevant
This must be Mary's best song yet. How beautifully she is singing it.
