Interesting, glad you shared your story. I am not a professional but a hobbyist who had all Nikon gear except for a Canon M50 I bought about 2 years ago just for making videos because the Nikon video in my D7500 and D500 wasn't nearly as capable. My passion is bird in flight photography and I began considering switching to Canon because of the R6 as the focusing system seemed much better than anything Nikon has. After much research and agonizing I sold all my Nikon gear except for the D7500 and one Nikon lens (to use as a backup camera system) and bought the R6. I couldn't be happier as the Canon R6 and the animal eye focusing system is great and adjusting to mirrorless hasn't been a problem.
I'm right there. Still thinking about it though. I shoot photo and video and now I have two separate setups. GH5ii and GH5s for video and the D610 for photo but I want some camera to do both. Been thinking about the R6 specially for the autofocus. But idk. I also like the Panasonic sh1 or s5. Or the nikon Z6... I'm so lost haha

I'm glad to hear the R6 is just as great! If it wasn't for the video work that I do, I would have gone with the R6 already!

I just sold all of my Fuji gear except for my xt1 for canon. Needed that good autofocus without spending that Sony money 😂
