I'm a guy and i like to mop lol. Here's a more streamlined way I've found for using this version of the O-Cedar mop (RinseClean system): Use a spray bottle or one of the manual pump sprayers to put cleaning solution on the floor. Then use your mop to spread it around. Mop it all up with the mop and spinner. Get as much excess liquid as you can off the floor. Then you can rinse the floors with the clean water reservoir. This way, you don't have to fill up that reservoir twice, once with solution and once with clean water and you can go about your day. Before the rinse phase, you can dip it in the clean water and spin it, do that 2 times to clean the dirty mop, then you can use the rest of the clean water to rinse the floor. Tldr; Use a spray bottle and mop to spread the cleaning solution for the wash phase, then use the clean water reservoir for the rinse phase.
I just used my new mop and I LOVE IT ! The only problem is that I would love to be able to remove the top to clean it all (the plastic that covers everything) I have the same two as yours but I much prefer the new one, because it fits really well in my sink. I don't like the old one anymore.
Lift the red valve and leave it open. This allows the perfect amount to rinse your mop. It will fill to the proper level and keep filling it when you dip the mop in it for rinse.
Leaving it open is equivalent to just sticking your dirty mop back in the same water. Why would you want to do that? I would keep the clean water segregated. Like fill it close it soak up the water. Mop the floor refill it rinse the mop wring it out. Refill it to rinse the mop if needed again and start it all over again with clean water and clean mop.
The compartments are separated, when you pull the mop up it takes virtually all of the water out of small reservoir and then slowly refills with clean water as you are wringing and mopping. So would you close the valve and then clean and scrub out the reservoir each time?? If you don't you are achieving nothing different except putting less water on your mop and slowing the process. You can do it however you wish but it works great the way it was designed to. @@FRANKLOOSER
If using hot water more water is forced into the clean water resivour. Fills more than half. Although it works as Intended with cold or warm water. Leave it open it will only fill all but the perfect amount that the mop can absorb. Come back after mopping the kitchen and the perfect amount of water is ready to go.
I bought a small dollar tree trash can to put my clean water (plus pinesol) in. (This trash can will fit in the ocedar bucket when not in use. ) I put water in the ocedar mop bucket to be my rinse bucket. After mopping the floor for a bit, I rinse in the water (it will be dirty after this first rinse). Then I ring out the excess water in the ringer. I put the mop in the cleaning solution (which is in the dollar store trash can next to the ocedar bucket), then I ring it out again in the ringer. This keeps the cleaning solution bucket cleaner for longer. Give it a try.
Imo this method is better then that new bucket because ultimately you're clean water is still being tainted by the dirty because it's still all mixing together in the bottom of the bucket. But with the trash can trick you're clean is always separate from the dirty rinse section.
I haven’t seen anyone explain how to rinse off the dirty mop and continue mopping. It seems like it’s still using a dirty mop. Can anyone explain, please. I really want one, but still on the fence.
@@passionatepennypincher hi! I meant as your mopping the floor. 😊 I’m currently using a mop that velcros on and off easy enough so when I’m mopping, before I stick it back in the clean water bucket I rinse it off in the sink. It takes more time, but I’m cleaning with clean water. I’m looking for another solution and would love something like this. But it sees like the clean water would get dirty when you put the mop back in.
Leave the red lever up. (It auto fills the fresh water.) stick used mop in fresh water, lift and move to spinner. Spin about 5-8times. (The mop head absorbs a lot of water to rinse the mop of dirty water. ) Hope that helps.
I empty the dirty water add new clean water and put the mop head in it and then spin it over and over. Then it just dries from there. You can also throw it in your washer machine. Hope this helps!!
There are replacement mop heads. Hope this helps! www.walmart.com/ip/O-Cedar-EasyWring-Spin-Mop-Refill-Removes-99-of-Bacteria/44187545?athbdg=L1600&from=/search&adid=22222222255421687453&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&veh=sem&expiryTime=1722660004949&c=mWebSmartBanner&vtcWeb=bJPnoKBXYE7DBbiPYt3Eto
It's kinda gimmicky, to be honest. Granted, it does reduce the amount of cross contamination , it just doesn't do it enough, sadly! I personally use multiple mop heads when I mop. I start with vacuuming the entire floor. I then mop the entire floor with one mop head ,ringing it out multiple times. I then come back with a new mop head and mop water and mop the entire floor again. Depending on how dirty the floor was, this usually does the trick! I basically do this method until the water remains clear after mopping. If the water remains clear after mopping, I know the floor is clean.
Okay see I'm confused what's actually different from the old one? From what i can see when you took off that part that you add a little water into in order too mop the clean water below is still becoming gross because each time you spin the dirt is just fulling into the clean water in the bottom that you're adding into that small section. So ultimately you're still mopping with dirty water just like the old style. I feel the new one is just a trick on the mind making you think you're getting clean water each time you release some into that little spot. But ultimately you're not because all the water including what is being put back into the clean water after you mop a area is still all in the same section of the bottom of the bucket. Basically it's just a illusion imo! And they really need too add wheels too the bucket already.
I understand where you coming from and it definitely made me think So what I’m going to do is still use her method but after mopping floor I will refil it with more water, rinse before applying to floor then wet mop head once more to continue mopping
I have the new mop and it is two separate compartments. The blue bucket where you put the clean water is sealed from the rest of the bucket, the dirty water goes into the larger part in the bottom when you spin the mop. Eventually, I guess depending how much water you filled the blue bucket with, you’ll run out of clean water and your dirty water will be underneath for you to lift the blue container out and dump the dirty water.😊
True but after you put it back into the clean water which is only a little bit that you released from the red tab (the water tank is separated from the bowl that holds the clean water) you then put it into the spinner and the dirty and excess water falls to the bottom.. give you a much cleaner mop then just dumping back into dirty water, spinning and mopping again.
Is the mop too wet using the O Cedar mop? The floor seemed to take a long time to dry, like a half an hour maybe. I don't know the exact time actually. How long should the floor take to dry with this mop?
It shouldn't take too long and it depends on how wet the mop is. We are able to get most of the moisture out and then mop regularly. I would say depending on the size of your room, by the time you are finished the first part should be dry. I sure hope that helps.
Hi, for the white mop O Cedar, how many pieces are there for the handle? I bought one and the guy said it was complete, but it looks like it’s missing a gray piece of the handle. Please advise! Ty
If you don't have a separate bucket of clean water to rinse...it seems like you're defeating the purpose, you're either double dipping in the old bucket or not rinsing the mop in the new bucket. I would go with the old style because it is bigger and save the money. unless I'm missing the rinse step with the new one? I like to rinse my mop before I stick it back in the cleaning solution.
*Don't complicate your life or spend more money for those who have the old one, just put another bucket with the soap and that's it. That's all they added to the new one, a space where the soapy water is. Think a little, keep using what you already have, don't spend.*
I feel like the only method that makes moat sense to me with "clean water every time" is this 3x flat mop and bucket. One chamber kinda scrapes all the dirt and grungy water and dips it over and over into a middle compartment and then there is a 3rd compartment with just the cleanest water.

I use different mopping systems for different floors in my home - I love their cleaning products. If I were you I would gift the old mop to someone who really needs it - you’ll be using it forever waiting for it to give up!!
It seems to me that the new one works better than the old one for controling the clean and dirty water and keeping it seperated. Because using clean water to rinse the mop then spin the wet it again to start moping makes sense to me. But you will need to refill the thing more times but it works better than a regular mop and single bucket.
Sorry O'Cedar/Vileda (It's Vileda in Portugal, where I live), it just does not convince me...for me to be cleaning with clean water "always", I would have to rinse the mop twice after using it on the dirty floor, no? One to rinse the dirt from the mop fibers and the second to soak it with clean water, but still I very much doubt that such a small amount of water really does rinse the mop thoroughly... From my research for "double compartment" buckets, none fitted the bill for me. I came to the conclusion that the only method that might work is to use two separate buckets and two mops, each bucket with it's dedicated mop. Wash with one and then rinse with the other.
This system actually doesn’t work. The mop head is still dirty from what you mopped up, so when you put your mop back into the clean water, your clean water is now becoming dirty.

Just get two of the same regular (bigger) mop bucket and have one as the "rinser" which would rinse and dry the mop directly off the floor and the second bucket will have clean water that you dip it in once it's been rinsed in the first bucket. So one bucket is rinse and dry and the other is wet with clean soapy water, spin excess water off and clean with. Professional cleaners always recommend to have two buckets and so these comparies are juat making gimmicks that are even less effective than juat having two. Like when I wash my counter. I put the rag in my hot soapy water, use THAT water to wash the counter with, then i rinse what got on thr rag off of it down the drain and place my rag back in rhe soapy water for the next wiping. So each time rhe rag gets dirty, it gets rinsed befkre goinf back into the clean soapy water. Same concept with just two of the same mop buckets.

This whole concept is ridiculous. Great marketing though from OCedar. Here’s what everyone seems to be missing…the mop gets dirty and stays dirty right? So even though you are putting it in clean water you still have dirt on that mop that you are spreading around maybe it’s less but it’s no different than using a microfiber mop that you spray and mop spray and mop and drag that thing all over your floor. The only way to avoid is to refill your water frequently and clean your mop head frequently throughout the mopping process or mop your floors daily so there is very little dirt.
I liked the new O-Cedar Mop. I had knee replacement surgery 5 months ago and it does make mopping quite a bit easier. I'm glad I bought it.

Thanks!
The only thing I don't like about those is little floor coverage. Rather have a commercial for big spaces
That makes sense Sammy. Thanks for your feedback!
the same. try Tsmine RinseWise Mop and it has 4 tanks and bigger spaces! very nice products😜
You're so welcome 🙏
Just used mine for the first time there really wasn’t instructions, so this is helpful. I left the red “flag” up.
So glad this was helpful and hope you loved it!
Thanks!! Great Video!!
My daughter sent this to me. To make my life easier. Lol. It takes me three times as long to mop. I love my swish it and twist it mop. Easier faster.
Good to know, thanks so much for your feedback!
I don’t care for the new mop because the mop head flips too much while mopping.
Good to know Jackie!
THE OLD ONE I WENT THRU 3 HANDLES THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THAT PROBLEM AND THE NEW MOP SO EXPENSIVE!!!
Oh no, so sorry you had trouble with the handle Teresa!
@@passionatepennypincher ITS FUNNY HUBBY DUCT TAPE THE LAST ONE LOL
Rust is it's number one enemy!
I got a bin that fits in my one
Love that!
Still confused on how much water to fill the first time?
Any reply on how much water to use to fill?
Shannon fills hers up about 3/4ths of the way full. I sure hope that helps.
Shannon fills hers up about 3/4 fof the way full. I sure hope that helps.
Loved the video and how countries to explain the difference, my only observation was that more video and less talking. Less talking and more demonstration is good for most of us watching content! 😊
Thanks for the feedback!
*Never empty dirty water from the floor into your sink because you put dishes there that you use to eat and you can carry a lot of bacteria if you don't wash the sink and your dishes well, so all that water you used to mop throw it directly into the drain or toilet.*
Thanks for your feedback!
First time user. There is not enough clean water to even get the mop wet enough to clean the mop. Huge fail.
Although the old one gets it way too wet and doesn't wring enough water out
Thanks for your feedback.
Try again when you know what your doing!!!😂😂
Thanks for your feedback,
Cute but honey how much coffee did you have making this video😂😂. Your all over the place love 😂. I'm screaming at my phone saying finish the d*** sentence first before you start another one lol but over all love the mop and thank you for taking the time to show us the pros and cons❤
Thanks for your feedback. We always get super nervous being on a live video :)
*Don't complicate your life or spend more money for those who have the old one, just put another bucket with the soap and that's it. That's all they added to the new one, a space where the soapy water is. Think a little, keep using what you already have, don't spend.*
Great idea!
Your spaced out mixing everything up is just giving me anxiety and repeating yourself
Thanks for your feedback!
It would help if wheels were on it. I'm old. LOL.
My head was spinning. That was a presentation on speed. Slow down, lady. LOL!
So sorry ... we really get nervous on video and go so fast. Thanks for the reminder :)
I will not buy one to much explanation so that a waste of my time, thanks for sharing 7:01
Thanks for your feedback!
I put too much soap in 😂
I do that sometimes as well!
I don’t like that the entire mop spins not just the head
Good point.
Lady…concentrate…one thing at a time
Thank you, we totally get nervous on live :)
A lot of talking. 😮
Thanks for your feedback!
You threw it off bringing in the other method instead of just staying and instructing with the new one
Thanks for your feedback!
@@passionatepennypincher guys mop too it my way of helping too retired machinist anything to help make it easier thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for your honest feedback.
Good grief girl
Yeah, it's a lot to be live on video :)
There went 12 minutes I'll never get back. This whole demo could have been presented in 1/4 the time at least.
Thanks for your feedback.

I'm almost sure there is no mention of floor mopping in the bible. If you love jesus you will cease all floor mopping and shun those who do not.
Thanks for your feedback!
I like have red 🙋♀️hi live long beach
This mop is terrible. It's so tiny
Thanks so much for your feedback!
What a convoluted non-stop talking ridiculous video...OMG!
Thanks for your feedback!
You talk too much woman..
Thanks for your feedback!
Lol
I Hate this Thing...its a piece of S!@#.. the mop is flimzy too much work to get my floors clean i have 3 big dogs and a cat..i dont recommend this..
Would have preferred if you rated the new mop instead of an old item. Your video’s title is inaccurate.
You talk too much about nothing
Thanks for your feedback!
I liked the new O-Cedar Mop. I had knee replacement surgery 5 months ago and it does make mopping quite a bit easier. I'm glad I bought it. This lady has very good intentions but the video is a bit tiresome. She should research the new product before making the video. Most of her research was done while we painfully watch her reach her conclusions!
So glad you like it!
Why are your videos all in portrait? It's so annoying.
We use them from other platforms General Shakewell :) there are only so many hours in a day and we don't want you to miss out on the content. I hope that helps.
alriggggghty then.. 😳🤣🤣🤣
and…. @jamesleary1405 i’m pretty sure the clean water is held in a separate compartment from the dirty, like the blue section of the contraption can come out by itself and be filled up with water & soap/floor cleaner.. ☺️👍
You can just leave the red tab open the whole time and the clean water will only get to about 2 inches deep.
Thanks a bunch for your feedback!
