I’m just a plain country gal and we washed the walls for spring cleaning and fall cleaning. Everything was pulled away from walls and cleaned under. Also my mom moved the furniture all the time. Never knew how the house would look when you came home from school.

Lol so relatable. I think after about a year and a half at any house, my Mom got bored with rearranging so much in the same house, that we moved again, so she would have somewhere new to rearrange for another year and a half. Lol

Same here. I loved seeing a new arrangement as it made the place look like a new kind of newness. As I got older I worked out that this method was a way of making sure everything was cleaned underneath and behind etc. Then later, I was amused at how freaked out some people got because someone changed their own furniture in their own house and the visitor couldn’t cope with the change. 😂😂😂

I have had knee replacement and cannot get down on my hands and knees to do any type of cleaning. Just last week I tackled the under-the-sink cabinet in my kitchen. The cleanest and best mop is a swifter with a stack of dishrags. If you never put a dirty rag back into the water it remains clean too. Wash the dishrags and reuse. You’re not spreading around dirt anymore. Don’t waste money on paper products for the swifter. Need a brush? Toss a scotch bright green square into the project. You don’t need an expensive mop.

@@2021-j2d the cheapest one without the spray bottle. You don’t need that high dollar stuff either. It has little rubber grippers at each corner. You just poke the dish rag tight into the corners and mop on. When dirty rinse it out and go again or if really nasty grab another dishrag and throw that one into the washer. Do a load of towels after you mop the house. You will never go back to wringing out a nasty mop again. Water stays clean too. If you hit a tough spot put a green scrubby under it or under your foot and keep going .

I like to vacuum things like blinds and doors to get the dust off, then use the mop with water and dawn to scrub.

So when cleaning all these different surfaces do you change the mop head to a new one, do you wash it and reuse it or is it just cleaned with a few wrings in clean water? Ive never known and no one explains that when giving tips on cleaning different kinds of surfaces with same equipment. Thank you!!!

Clean bathtub and shower with washing powder like Ariel and baking soda and sponge mop. No need for scrub brush. Place bucket in tub soak sponge mop and wipe all areas leave sitting 20 min return and wipe again. Wheee there is mold and dirty grout wipe again no need for brush. Cleans well. Then when done hose with water or rinse sponge and wipe with clean water. Easy peasy.

Washed walls as a kid because both parents smoked. The yellow grime that came off was stinky and totally disgusting!

Dont forget to clean your brooms! I donthis outside orvin the bathtub. A little dawn in the water swish it around really good. I empty the water outside. If you haven't cleaned your broom in a while, it may take a second cleaning. I rinse it off and set our brooms outside to dry.
If you think no way, do it once and see how grimy it is. It constantly goes thru dirt, debris, grime, and greasy residue.
Dont forget to wipe out your dust pan. 😊 Did i just go to far? 🤯

I would think that it would be best to use an older mop head to clean out garbage cans and then toss it. I would never put it in my washer after washing out garbage cans.😝

I used one on a floor that was filthy from dogs and it got my washer dirty. I should have tossed it. I did run my washer through another cycle to clean it with some bleach.

Scrubbing blinds doesn’t get the strings dirty? I put on cotton socks spray with endust and wipe they two hands at a time. Works good. I change my socks every couple shades. Maybe next time is will use a water light soap solution. 🤷‍♀️

I put mine in the washing machine. I don't know if that's the best for longevity, but I get a 4 pack of mop heads on Amazon for like $21, so they are not too expensive to replace. I clean other people's houses with them, so getting them super clean is a must.

I used to use cotton string mops and would use the power washer to get them really clean. It worked great for all types of mops and small rugs that don't fit in the washer.

Also be sure to change vent filters 3-4 time year and most of the dirt can be tossed into the trash on the filters leaving the vents less dirty.
