I have a 2018 Kia forte that hesitates to start. It doesn't click and it doesn't continuously try to turn it over. It sounds like it chokes and gets quiet when the ignition is being turned, but after 2 seconds it starts the engine. What are some possibilities?

Don't ever buy new they are less than a tenth of the price at the salvage yard. If your vehicle is newer than 2012 you will probably have trouble finding parts at salvage yards so you might be forced to buy new otherwise it is a waste of money I have driven for years on $10 starters..

Y’all are forgetting one more symptom where the magnets break inside of the starter
