    This is the best video out there. I watched it when it was first uploaded. There is no equal. Seriously great demo throwing at the pole target.
    3:45 really is the lightbulb moment!

    This helped me greatly! I hadn't caught on to the importance of letting the fingers lag behind, great explanation that other forehand videos seem to miss. Thanks!

    I've watched a good bit of forehand clinic footage and the like and this is probably the best I have seen as far for someone like me who has an atrocious forehand. Great video, great breakdown of the basic core mechanics of the shot.

    I know this vid is two years old, but I just wanted to drop a comment. I’ve been trying to learn how to forehand for a hot minute and have watched dozens of videos. This is the first one that actually breaks it down simply into parts and makes COMPLETE sense. Best tutorial I’ve seen. THANK YOU!

    Oh boy. I felt it finally after 7 years!
    It's very cold here in NY in the 20's*F and I was in my back yard and was seeing how light I could hold a disc and flick it. I finally noticed how my wrist being forward and just flicking it, it went 100ft and accurate with a putter. I had a ROC3 also and it went easily 130ft and no disc had ant OAT on them.
    Very strange. I thought I had to grip super tight and throw the arm fast and it would rip out of the hand, I feel quite confident with the looser grip and wrist. It doesn't feel like it will fall out of my hand, and I am more aware of the disc. With a tight grip I could not feel anything. I'll take the 100ft in the tight woods I play in any day!
    Thanks for the video. I feel I've learned the most from this video.

    Great video.
    You should edit this video and tell people the importance of grip pressure.
    It is paramount to a non off axis torque(OAT) throw. I can not believe how much it has improved my forehands.
    Grip very firmly with thumb pressing into the flight plate AND do not relax at the moment of release.
    It is amazing how different it feels compared to a loose grip. For me loose grip equals OAT nearly 100% of the time.
    I think this is so important and I've never seen anyone do a video about just grip pressure. Thank you a ton for do your videos.
    You should maybe put an addendum to your grip pressure backhand video that you did. Show the forehand with and without grip pressure. The OAT would be so obvious. It would be a great visual. just like how the backhand in loose grip was overstable and the tighter grip was a gorgeous throw.

    I’ve followed so many tips on trying to reduce wobble in sidearm. It was so bad with putter sidearm for me that I just wouldn’t do it. I’ve tried your tips and for the first time ever I’m throwing smooth putter sidearms....smooth anything sidearm actually. Thank you!!

    Great video! Question: does it matter if you keep your 4th/5th fingers bent or straight? I find it more comfortable to keep my bent vs straight. Any thoughts about that?

    • @TheAnglePickleball
      @TheAnglePickleball  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of what I say about specifics is Ike that would be a preference thing. That’s why most professionals have a drastically different form than anyone else. It’s just honing in what works best for your body!

    Great tutorial!
    I have some trouble with putter forehand, it flutters badly and I have trouble throwing far.
    Is it because of wrist roll? I can throw putter forehand around 150ft but after that I start to turn the putter over.

    • @TheAnglePickleball
      @TheAnglePickleball  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      filipcza I would say the easiest way to control the turn over past 150’ is to really abbreviate any sort of follow through. It sounds counter-productive but if you can focus on the “hit” point and start the putter on a flat to hyzer line you will be amazed at how much less flutter and more distance you can get!

    • @filipcza
      @filipcza 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I'll try that.

  • @chuckdebrum3041
    @chuckdebrum3041 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. The big question that always puzzles me is.... how tight is your grip? Are you really pinching your fingers and thumb and holding real tight or is it more of a loose grip?

    • @TheAnglePickleball
      @TheAnglePickleball  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chuck DeBrum it’s a good question and I would say it’s different for everyone. For me I like to have a pretty loose hold in the beginning and as I’m getting to the hit point I tighten my thumb pressure a little. The main thing you want is nose angle control!

    • @chuckdebrum3041
      @chuckdebrum3041 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAnglePickleball Ok, I'll work with that. Thanks for the reply.

      I throw with a super tight grip, the Uber rum of the disk catches on the on the crease in my hand between thumb and index. A slightly looser but still firm grip helped me.
      I throw side are with a one finger grip for a long time to prevent the disk from snagging the crease in my hand for the longest.

    It would be better to throw exactly same style when throwing hyzer or anhyzer but slightly bend your body forward or backward then you throw aka hand movement remain same only disc will do hyzer/anhyzer.

    • @TheAnglePickleball
      @TheAnglePickleball  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr. Wizeguy I could possibly get on board with that for full power forehands. When you are quick snapping a putter from 150 and in, there is no real need to angle your body that much. Simply be consistent with your angle all the way through and it has no choice but to follow that path.

  • @radagascar1
    @radagascar1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In your throws you're clearly popping through with the hips and torso. the idea that it's all done through the arm is misleading.

    • @TheAnglePickleball
      @TheAnglePickleball  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this video I simply give the explanation of the arm and how the timing should work. Obviously I naturally utilize my lower body in every shot but for simple upshots the timing of the arm is most important. I have a more in depth video on forehand for drives that explains lower body movement. th-cam.com/video/qkAZqJDDmrA/w-d-xo.html
