    I am 66 years old and have been away from disc golf for about 15 years and I am now retired and back into it. In trying to correct the past years of many bad technics and habits and over the last 5 days watching dozens of You Tube videos to get back in the groove this approach video was the first video where I have found immediate improvements in following Paul Ulibarri’s guidance...thank you for your time Mr. Ulibarri!

    Thanks for this tutorial. I'm a newbie and I still haven't played my first round yet. I find this very helpful when I do field work. Yesterday I actually threw my Buzzz into the basket at approximately 46ft (Udisc measure throw). Today I did it again with a Roc3 in a bit closer range approximately 45 yo 46ft.

    I love the formula: nose up, wrist above elbow, and follow through. I also am curious, those of you who do warm-up playing catch, what are you playing with? Just your putters, or do you pack around an ultimate disc?

    • @Crypticwolf98
      @Crypticwolf98 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use your putters or an ultimate disc. But I use a Innova Condor to play catch with a friend. It's got the slow gliding flight you want out of a catch disc (so you're not going to hurt each other using it), and it feels like a disc you would throw on the course.

    • @ofdiscord
      @ofdiscord 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use an Esp Flx Buzzz. I think the same plastic in a putter would maybe be better in general, but I use a Z plastic Buzzz for my mid-range drives and the Flx for longer approach shots because its a bit more understable and after a little wear seems to fly great at low speeds, so the Esp Flx has a nice place in my bag.

    throwing it aimlessly... *clank*!!

  • @joshdenney4
    @joshdenney4 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree completely here with Uli. I know that I can shoot bogey-free any day with my upshot game on point. I am interested in keeping my wrist above my elbow to force the nose up. I've missed out on some great opportunities because of my putter not getting enough glide when I'm within 100ft.

  • @Sdot301k
    @Sdot301k 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So this is why my straight approach shots are not consistent and my “patent pending” stance approaches are on point. My patent pending naturally forces my elbow down

      I just watched the other video and I think it is the same group as Wysocki’s but a different instructor. Wysocki’s class was close to the golf driving range cages and the group shown behind Ulibarri is much further out in the field. I suspect at that location several of the pros were set up to do classes with several groups and they rotated between classes.

    Great info, but I disagree on turning the nose up. The conditions, type of disc, and shot all affect how I tilt my disc. I do turn it up a tad on a calm day but not as a rule.
