I unlocked every character by playing versus matches in brawl and Wii U and I am likely to do the same with ultimates
@@lucasdellamaggiore the unlocks in ultimate are trash, the fuck are you talking about? They literally unlock themselves after every versus match. Theres no skill or time involved in unlocking characters anymore. Brawl took weeks , ultimate takes 2 hours.

I did it with Subspace Emissary, like I'm sure most people did.
Brawl will always hold a special place in my heart. It may not be the best Smash Bros. game anymore, but I love the first 3 games all the same! Subspace was just so epic and full of surprises back in the day. There is never really an experience quite like it since! Man, the music and everything...this game was just so...perfect! If I could relive it as a kid again, I would!

Brawl was the most fun smash for me, I hate how people hate on it. Like yeah it’s not very good competitively but to just have fun with a smash game I feel like this one was the best.

Back in 2014-15 I somehow unlocked all the characters without knowing that I had to do certain things to get them. I thought they just appeared randomly😂

Honestly Smash Bros Brawl is still my favorite nintendo game. It was the first one I've ever played, (besides new super mario bros for ds,) and it was the one I played the most. So many memories with this game. The character unlockings, getting the all-star trophies, and listening to that music for the first time was all SO freaking amazing when I was littler. (this might sound cheesy but whatever)

If you play the story mode it will unlock 93% of the characters without fighting them
100% wolf, toon link and jigglypuff can be unlocked too

@Adam Crawford after you defeat tabuu it will appear three doors in three diferent levels there are the forest for toon link the swamp for Jigglypuff and the ruins for wolf
The easiest way is Subspace.
I did to unlock Snake, Sonic, Wolf, Toon Link, Jigglypuff, R.O.B. Lucario and Ganondorf
Nintendorak Yamato same just play subspace and get them all
Once you complete the story mode you can unlock toon link, wolf, and jiggly puff by going back and complete the three stages, each one has their own stage to complete

For me, Marth, Luigi, Ness and Sonic are usually the first 4 characters I unlock. The first time I unlocked Lucario was with Peach and afterward unlocked a lot of the other characters with him.
I can understand the first 2, but Sonic? Don't you mean Snake?

@@metaloverlord99 Well, he's really hard to get, unless you set up a 99 Stock match on Mushroomy Kingdom with physical AI.

@@metaloverlord99 Yeah, he has 4 unlock methods. Beat Classic Mode with 10 characters, play 10 hours of VS, beat SSE, or play 300 matches.
It's gonna feel good unlocking Snake and Wolf again in Ultimate.
(Actually, unlocking damn near everyone is gonna be fun to do because of all the damn hype I have for this game.)
My problem is that we will only have Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox and Pikachu for the starting roster. I'm so gonna hate that for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Especially since I have to fight characters that aren't made to be unlocked like Peach and Pit.
KyleFromStl If I remember the E3 Direct right, it was stated that we'd only start with the original 12 from the first Smash, then work our way through by unlocking everyone else.
Double Aura That's understandable, but thankfully Sakurai said there are various methods to unlock everyone else, so it may not take too long gather every character.

This game was my childhood. I unlocked all characters and looking back now, i am very proud of myself.
I love how easy it is to unlock ness in the older games but unlocking him in the original smash 64 is hard
Same with Jigglypuff she use to be the easiest character to unlock like she first one to unlock since Brawl she hard to unlock she one of last ones to unlock even in the 3DS version

The fanfare is based on whether they first appeared in 64, Melee, or Brawl, with the exception of Jigglypuff using the Brawl fanfare despite first appearing in 64.
The game is really impressed to see Star Fox’s ace pilot, the King of Evil and the master of dimensions in the same game, isn’t it? (Seriously, all three were already unlockable characters in Melee)

Thanks for making this video, it brings back so many memories when used to playing this game. I remember the first time playing this game.. Me and my mom rent it from family video and I played it on my wii. I remember the first character I played as and what map I was on. I first played as mario and I was on the rising level that had the waterfall that looked like a mario stage. To be honest, I actually think it was a mario stage. But anyways, I remember playing and struggling with the level because I was holding the controller upwards and not sideways. I did this because I played plenty of other wii games and I was used to just holding it upwards. And also, the first character I first challenged to try and unlock them was Sonic. I'm pretty sure I lost, though. I used Mario in that stage.

I remember when I unlocked all the characters. The easiest was Ganandorf and the most difficult were Toon Link and Mr Game and Watch. Lucario and Sonic were also difficult. They were much easier to defeat in this video.

Awesome video,and the way i unlock all the character was by playing through and completing subspace emissary. I love this game nonetheless and my main is mario and sonic. I bet next would be either smash 64 or smash 4( 3ds or wii u) bc I guessing this is the road to Smash 5 for Switch. Smash bros series is one of my favorite game series.

I remember I unlocked the majority thanks to the Story Mode, the only ones I achieved the other conditions where Marth, Ganondorf, Wolf and Jigglypuff
I remember unlocking all these characters. For me it was winning the required number matches to unlock them because this game is what me and my family would play most of the time

Step 2. Enable flowers and stamina
Step 3. Proceed to character select
Step 4. Enable handicap
Step 5. Add CPU(s)
Step 6. Put all CPU’s handicap stamina to 1 and leave yours alone
Step 7. Select a stage
Step 8. Fight
Step 9. Repeat step 7-8

When I was younger and had this game, I didn’t know that subspace emissary was a thin so I unlock all the Characters by playing smash so much by myself

I am realizing the SMB series are just basically upgrades to the game because I recognize lot of these stages and items from the latest SMB release and the character turning white when it charges. The easiest way I have unlocked these characters was playing matches. It's been so long since I last played this game I don't even know if I have all the stages and characters. I remember Toon Link being the toughest to unlock and I had to keep playing classic mode and enter through a door to challenge him. This video makes me want to play this version again but my brother is borrowing it.

I played 4 times with Sonic. If you press 2 with Sonic, he does an amazing attack
1 month in and I got Sonic just by playing Ike and out ranging sonic's options. First time ever in gaming I had to go off my main and try something new. It sure payed off.
I'm getting it again, I'm buying the Wii and this exact game. 14/15 years later I'm coming back to complete this game once again.

I didn’t know a lot of things when I was a kid. Didn’t even know team battles was an option, and thus I didn’t know what subspace emissary was, so I did this the hard way with stock battles with various amounts of lives even a few 99 lives battles. Thus it took quite awhile for me to get all the characters.
