its worth it if you are spending all your time in the room, but if you are running around town visiting that huge mall, skiing in the indoor ski place, going to the water park next to the hotel, having dinner at another property...that room is just sitting there and all that money is wasted...oh thats right, if you can get the room you aren't thinking about money, my mistake.

You will be entertaining, and bringing a party. They charge per night, not per head.
And making deals at the bar, with your private butler instructed to mix the drinks extra strong - for them.
Sure, I can see staying here. :)

@@La__Rat suitable in a way, as Dubai is full of Indians. If you look at real estate there, you will likely get this. Just part of the local scene. If they talk funny, they do.
There are so many expat and guest workers in Dubai, that natives are only about 15% of the population. That’s why they don’t allow democratic rule - the Indians would just vote themselves into power, disestablish the state religion of Islam, and proclaim the republic of New Maharatta, or something. And get all those oil revenues. The Dubai Arabs have actually given away their country, but keep it anyway, through denying anyone rights, forbidding criticism and deporting anyone who causes trouble. But there is such a lot of cash flowing, no one seems to care.
A strange place. The local Arab tribesmen are a tiny aristocracy, who have all the power in what was once their land. They get lots of free money from their ruler, who spreads around the oil cash, and they are happy. The oil also means there is no tax, and the ruler spends little on defence, as the western powers can not afford to let anyone snap up this fat, rich prize. The US Navy is never far away, and the former colonial power, the U.K., supplies arms and trainingThe business class are the super-rich from all over the world, who live and invest from Dubai. The labourers vastly outnumber them all, and are mostly Indians and Philippinos. The outside world does not interfere, as the absolute ruler of the place has the sense to be an enlightened despot, and stonings and beheadings are rare. Amputations and crucifixions are still on the books, but not practiced - they usualy solve a problem by deporting it. If you are a Moslem, it is still death to leave the Faith - no freedom of conscience on that point. However, most apostates have the sense to leave Dubai first.
I wonder how long this can last? Births of outsiders in Dubai now far outnumber Arab births. The situation is not stable. But will be fun to watch - from a distance.
Meantime, see you at the Atlantis. Dibs on the Royal Bridge Suite!
