This reminds me when I was at petsmart (a pet chain store) and I saw a guinea pig in a small cage that was being sold for $20 and this older lady came up to me and said something like, “ oh isn’t that such a nice guinea pig. I’m thinking of getting it for my 4 year old grandkid.” And I felt so sad because she was going to buy it without knowing anything about guinea pigs for a 4 year old.

Can someone tell me why they can have 1 to 2 a day? Are they unhealthy (and why) if not in moderation or what is it? I've been giving my guinea pigs pea flakes 1 to 2 times a day too but I've been curious about this

My guinea pig passed away a week ago from epilepsy. Your videos help me get through the sadness and feeling of loss. I am trying to build my piggies a new cage but it’s taking so long. I love them so much and I hold them every day and they get their veggies. In certain circumstances, pigs can still be somewhat happy in a smaller cage💜💜

Aamna M all of the walls of the cage are against actual walls anyway. The only one that's not against anything is the one in the front, and there are no hides against that wall of the cage. There's no way a guinea pig can escape that cage.
Xx Pets and Life xX I mean a guinea pig can't climb a wall that is flat. In reality, they can't climb at all, unless it's an object, then they will be able to climb it. Anyway, you can't climb something flat. You need something to grab onto. For example, wire. Wire is pieces of metal crossed together, there for it has places you can grip onto. You can't grip onto a flat surface like a wall
i was just watching your other cage reaction videos when this was uploaded! i've had my 2 piggies for almost 3 weeks & your channel has helped me make their life a lot better. i have a store bought cage that's only 120x65 centimeters, it was the biggest one they had at the pet store, but i've ordered a pack of 20 grid pieces so i can make my own cage! i'm very excited to decorate it. i've also sewn my own fleece liners with old worn-out fleece blankets & towels i had lying around. i never knew just how much you can do for your pigs without spending much money. also lol my pigs have 2 hidies but they always insist on sharing, they're brothers who grew up together so they're very attached. now i just need to learn to tell them apart bc they're both white abyssinians 😅 sorry for the wall of text, i'm just very excited about my piggies & super grateful for your channel 💖
Dede Vlaar I don’t know maybe you could add a loft space on top but I don’t think there is a way to expand it without taking up floor space. (Sorry ik you were not talking to me but I have that cage I use it for when I go on vacation with my piggies)

I have a hutch that is average size and is two stories high, they also have a outdoor run with a roof and a indoor area, and they love running around on the lawn!! 😍
Mine is the one with the wooden ramp! There is a hidey under the ramp :) and one hidey per guinea pig as well (they like to sleep on top of the hideys so I think some of them looked like mats) 😂😂 made my day seeing this!!

I have three guinea pigs and one of them lives by herself because she is extremely aggressive yet very loving to people, I have tried to get her a companion and she attacks to where they can bleed. She lives by herself very nicely. I give her attention everyday, give her treats constantly, always has food and hideouts. She always active by running or moving things around her cage. She seems to be ok and never sadden. SHe does however has the two other guinea pigs living right next to her and is always biting the cage towards their direction. She is the only guinea pig I have ever met like that lol
I also have one guinea pig, we used to have two but the other one died 😢 but my guinea pig Spot, still has a great time in her cage, once we finish her new cage we are going to get more 2 guinea pigs.
One of my guinea pigs died about a month ago.... So now I only have one more guinea pig left.... But we’re working on getting another guinea pig friend! In about 2 to 3 weeks or so! And a bigger cage :) She is also having lots of fun! We let her run around in our living room! She is still a very happy guinea pig :)
I had my first guinea pig death yesterday, luckily his brother is taking it well, I suspect pneumonia but I'm not sure, either way we're getting him cremated. Sorry for your loss.

Hey! I know this is kinda wierd but I feel like I need to tell you about my pig! My sisters rat died, sadly, so we decided to buy a piggie. The problem is that my grandma dosent want a second animal, so she bought a piggie and we named her inni! (We got inni a year ago) my sister sadly dosent take good care of her, so shes planning to give me inni (my sis is 8 and im 12) im really happy that im watching you on youtube, so I can make inni a new cage and buy her new stuff! It will be one of the outdoor cages! Even tho shes only one piggie, I still try to spend time with her on our big garden (ofc taking care that our cat wont do anything) inni turned one year btw, shes a long hair three colour pig, and I love her very very much. I have a question, I would really appreciate advice on this, I have only one guinea pig I was going to adopt 2 but the rescue centre we adopted my guinea pig from said that they had tried many times with multiple guinea pigs to pair him with but every time he reacted negatively. He is my first guinea pig so I took there advice and only got him, should I adopt another ( btw he hasn’t been showing any signs he needs another guinea pig)
Well guinea pigs are social of course so I would recomment getting him a friend. He may be very dominent which could be why he doesn't get along with other males. It could be because of a high level of testosterone. You could try and get him neutered and maybe get him a female friend. Remember I'm not an expert so please maybe ask a vetenarian what would be the best option.
I bought four large cages and connected them all so I had to move it to the guest room and it takes up like 1/2 of the whole room lol.Then they have a playpen and the rest of the room is just supervised free range.
After watching this video I feel like our cage isn’t big enough, we got it at Pets at Home when we got our guinea pigs ( Rico and Pedro ). We’ve had them for almost 3 years now and we never worried about their cage size. We open the cage everyday so they can run about on the carpet but we would love to make a bigger cage but we don’t have space for something like the cage you have ( which btw is amazing! ) I would love some advise!!!! I love your videos!!!
The cage should be a minimum of a metre in length I reccomend not getting store bought cages, it's better to get a C&C cage because there cheaper and you can keep adding on to it if you cant afford a big one all at once

Getting my two pigs friday both female with the midwest deluxe im soooooo excited i have done at least 20 hours of research i do plan on building a large c&c cage eventually
(The pink and white hutch with the white heart on the front) ,I have that one but in green but me and my dad made a gate on the side and added two massive runs for my 3 pigs ,in the winter we bring them inside ;)
My two boys are spoilt. They have a big cage that they go in for bed just so I know they can’t get themselves into trouble but during the day they roam the house. My dining room has a cosy corner with hides and is filled with toys, blankets and tunnels for them. They love zooming around in the hallway and follow me from room to room around the house too.
I said last video that my guinea pig was sick and dint knew what to do well.... She is alive and well she seems fine and will 100% survive thank you for the nice comment on the last comment👍❤️
Julia where do you get pea flakes? And my mom made our old piggies cage and we got this HUGE new cage for our fluffy Potatos. We use their old cage for them to go outside and they will stay out their while we clean the cage and it really works. We have three piggies Oreo, Pip,and Bubbles they are all girls Oreo is the oldest we got Pip and Oreo for Christmas.
I was watching thus with my guinea pig (his companion is still in the cage) and he was burrowing into my blanket and when the piggies in background he started seeking and cue out of his hole. It was adorable.

I have a question for you @Little Adventures and/or anyone scrolling through the comments. I currently have 2 piggies that live in a midwest cage. I want to upgrade their space by adding on to their cage with c&c grids, but I'm not completely sure how to do that. I also dont know how to attach the extension to the top/side without leaving gaps they could jump off of. I have a budget of 100$ CAD, and if someone could help me out that would be great.
This was informative and interesting. Our guinea pigs have 2 different cages in different spaces in our home that we move them between. It was fun to get ideas from what others do. When I was a kid we housed our rabbit outdoors and an animal was able to break in through the wire mesh sides and killed her so I am pretty hesitant with using an outdoor cage for guinea pigs where they are unattended but might be fun for them when we could be outdoors too. Other than predators and having some shade are there considerations for outdoor cages or play yards like insects (fleas, mosquitoes, etc)?
i got a c&c cage for my 2 guinea pigs for about 30 dollars on amazon. it may seem expensive but it’s definitely worth it. the coroplast i bought for the base was only 20 dollars. and i have two fleece blankets i got cheap at walmart that i switch out when it comes time for changing it. also, definitely worth it. they have so much space for their zoomies, and they love it. my older guinea pig is i think 5-6 years old and for the first few years of her life she lived in one of those store bought cages so she loves having all this new space. my baby piggy is about 6 months old and she also loves the cage.
honestly I was never a guinea pig person, I preferred gerbils.. hamsters.. rabbits and rats over them. but your channel really made me more interested in them. I can see myself owning them in the future thanks to you! a rescue pair would be amazing. it'd take at least 5 years for sure but still, I think they're so cute now and I'm really happy you changed my mind on them :')

14:25 there's a wooden thing in the middle of the cage. (It has 4 legs and a top) I see it a lot in people's cages. Where do you get it?

Hey! I know this is kinda wierd but I feel like I need to tell you about my pig! My sisters rat died, sadly, so we decided to buy a piggie. The problem is that my grandma dosent want a second animal, so she bought a piggie and we named her inni! (We got inni a year ago) my sister sadly dosent take good care of her, so shes planning to give me inni (my sis is 8 and im 12) im really happy that im watching you on youtube, so I can make inni a new cage and buy her new stuff! It will be one of the outdoor cages! Even tho shes only one piggie, I still try to spend time with her on our big garden (ofc taking care that our cat wont do anything) inni turned one year btw, shes a long hair three colour pig, and I love her very very much. Anyways, thanks for all the tips! ♥
we built a big pig cage “pig land” and added some plexiglass to the sides, super big and workable! it also has storage underneath

I have a question, I would really appreciate advice on this, I have only one guinea pig I was going to adopt 2 but the rescue centre we adopted my guinea pig from said that they had tried many times with multiple guinea pigs to pair him with but every time he reacted negatively. He is my first guinea pig so I took there advice and only got him, should I adopt another ( btw he hasn’t been showing any signs he needs another guinea pig)
Well guinea pigs are social of course so I would recomment getting him a friend. He may be very dominent which could be why he doesn't get along with other males. It could be because of a high level of testosterone. You could try and get him neutered and maybe get him a female friend. Remember I'm not an expert so please maybe ask a vetenarian what would be the best option.

I bought four large cages and connected them all so I had to move it to the guest room and it takes up like 1/2 of the whole room lol.Then they have a playpen and the rest of the room is just supervised free range.

After watching this video I feel like our cage isn’t big enough, we got it at Pets at Home when we got our guinea pigs ( Rico and Pedro ). We’ve had them for almost 3 years now and we never worried about their cage size. We open the cage everyday so they can run about on the carpet but we would love to make a bigger cage but we don’t have space for something like the cage you have ( which btw is amazing! ) I would love some advise!!!! I love your videos!!!
The cage should be a minimum of a metre in length I reccomend not getting store bought cages, it's better to get a C&C cage because there cheaper and you can keep adding on to it if you cant afford a big one all at once

I have two Midwest Guinea Pig homes and a large run area we made for our piggies and they are so happy with the large size. (We have 6) Thanks to your videos we were prepared to care for them before we got them

Sorry to bother you but I'm only 11 but I am worried that my guinea pigs are lonely, bored and have no where to run around. They started fighting and had to seperate them and I am worried they are lonely, they have been separated for a while now. Their hutches also dont have enough space for them to run around however one of them has a lower section but it is always closed because they cant go in the same cage I dont know what to do. They cant run around in their cage but I'm only 11 and I dont know if my parents can afford 2 new cages, What shall I do?

My two boys are spoilt. They have a big cage that they go in for bed just so I know they can’t get themselves into trouble but during the day they roam the house. My dining room has a cosy corner with hides and is filled with toys, blankets and tunnels for them. They love zooming around in the hallway and follow me from room to room around the house too.
I said last video that my guinea pig was sick and dint knew what to do well.... She is alive and well she seems fine and will 100% survive thank you for the nice comment on the last comment👍❤️

Julia where do you get pea flakes? And my mom made our old piggies cage and we got this HUGE new cage for our fluffy Potatos. We use their old cage for them to go outside and they will stay out their while we clean the cage and it really works. We have three piggies Oreo, Pip,and Bubbles they are all girls Oreo is the oldest we got Pip and Oreo for Christmas.
I would have loved to do this but I dont have Instagram. You can see them on my channel if you like though xx

In the cage where it’s kinda like a c and c cage but it has cloudy plastic Instead of little grids does anyone know where u can get it and what u hv to search in order to get it cause I don’t like my guinea pigs being able to crawl up onto the walls and gripping onto the little grids so if anyone knows pls comment it and the link. I have a question for you @Little Adventures and/or anyone scrolling through the comments. I currently have 2 piggies that live in a midwest cage. I want to upgrade their space by adding on to their cage with c&c grids, but I'm not completely sure how to do that. I also dont know how to attach the extension to the top/side without leaving gaps they could jump off of. I have a budget of 100$ CAD, and if someone could help me out that would be great.

This was informative and interesting. Our guinea pigs have 2 different cages in different spaces in our home that we move them between. It was fun to get ideas from what others do. When I was a kid we housed our rabbit outdoors and an animal was able to break in through the wire mesh sides and killed her so I am pretty hesitant with using an outdoor cage for guinea pigs where they are unattended but might be fun for them when we could be outdoors too. Other than predators and having some shade are there considerations for outdoor cages or play yards like insects (fleas, mosquitoes, etc)?
i got a c&c cage for my 2 guinea pigs for about 30 dollars on amazon. it may seem expensive but it’s definitely worth it. the coroplast i bought for the base was only 20 dollars. and i have two fleece blankets i got cheap at walmart that i switch out when it comes time for changing it. also, definitely worth it. they have so much space for their zoomies, and they love it. my older guinea pig is i think 5-6 years old and for the first few years of her life she lived in one of those store bought cages so she loves having all this new space. my baby piggy is about 6 months old and she also loves the cage.
For outdoor cage, insects such as spider and 🪳 roach comes to mind. Are g. pigs save when exposed to them?

honestly I was never a guinea pig person, I preferred gerbils.. hamsters.. rabbits and rats over them. but your channel really made me more interested in them. I can see myself owning them in the future thanks to you! a rescue pair would be amazing. it'd take at least 5 years for sure but still, I think they're so cute now and I'm really happy you changed my mind on them :')
