    it looks like he hyper extends his head down (1:02 minute mark) as he swims on his back to see the wall. is this recommended?

      It is not recommended when the backstroke flags are up. I suppose it is recommended when the flags aren't up so you don't bonk the wall. We took the flags out so we could film above. In a race you'll have the flags.

      +Kåre Oscar They all work! Just do lots of kicking..particularly dolphin kicking.

    When I try this my head sink. How can get I my head stay out of the water?

      You must work the down kick in order to keep the head floating.

    I'm such a bad backstroker, so i basically just do a steamline half the time so I don't go too slow lol.

    My swimming teacher says this " don't bend your knee " and then I'm like how do you do it? And she doesn't even teach us..

      FTIZ you will bend your knees but by focusing on not bending them you will have a more propulsive kick.

      Knees have to bend 50-75 degrees to be most effective

    When I kick off the wall on my back, I can’t stay underwater even for two kicks. Water goes into my nose and causes me to choke. So I have to surface almost immediately after getting off the wall if I want to do the backstroke. Is there a way around this? Many thanks.

      give an easy breathe out wile you are doing back kick underwater. try it.
