@@clos87 ... no. I did think JM's solo here was uninspired. In general I really like Doyle's playing. Can't really say the same about JM's, altho I haven't followed his music that closely.
Imagine having John mayer just casually playing rhytm guitar for you… imagine being on stage with Clapton….. holy crap!! Its like when Knopfler just introduced Eric on rhytm, sting on some backing vocals and Phil collins on drums.. insane!!!
I used to listen to Eric Clapton's songs a lot. I still do that sometimes. While serving in the military(in South Korea), I was able to have personal leisure time as I rose to the rank of corporal and sergeant, and I enjoyed listening to his music. People around me were always like, "Do you really like this kind of music?" it was like, they looked at me with a look that was somewhat difficult to get at. Eric Clapton is older than my father, and I heard that people in their 60s and 70s enjoy listening to his music in the States. He himself once said it he wishes more generations would listen to the blues. John Mayer is even cooler because he acts like a bridge to generations like that.
If I was John Mayer I would piss my pants onstage.. Eric Clapton is one of my favorite blues/rock guitarists.. if not my all time favorite one.. It's interesting to listen to a different version of it, like... it was pretty much John Mayered (?)
Hahahaha Im Brazilian and Im dying waiting for his performance here. Its gonna be my dream coming true. I dont even know how to type my actual feeling here in English. Best for you guys!

I thinks it’s the fact that the drummers are playing quarters on the ride instead of 8ths. Also the drums are played kinda quiet in this version, could just be me
Doyle Bramhall Jr. who I would venture to call one of the most underrated musicians of our time. He and Clapton tour together a lot, Bramhall was supporting last year when I saw Clapton at MSG and was incredible. His father was friends with the Vaughan brothers growing up and actually has the writing credits on Life By the Drop, the House is a’ Rockn’, and a few others.
the amount of talent on this stage is ridiculous
FOR. REAL.
You mean hard work? Yes.
You mean both? Yes. @RottenSkull
@@jonadabcalan9714Both?! The entire band are masters…
@@RottenSkulltalent is a result of hard work so it’s just talent at this point it’s not hard for them anymore
John’s also rocking a Patek as an homage to Clapton! That’s respect on an entirely different level!
100 %
I was wondering if anyone else saw that
Patek Phillippe + PRS Silver Sky + JM's playing = HEAVEN
That’s a level of respect most people can’t afford 😂
He’s rocking a rich old man’s watch to pay respects to a rich old man got it.
That "You wanna go?" was so cool.
which minute?
4:02 @@CoachReverso
Doyle didn't want any part of that (smart move) ... his bends (sig lick) were very good though - Eric's too
@@willgo7898are you implying Doyle is not at JM’s level?
@@clos87 ... no. I did think JM's solo here was uninspired. In general I really like Doyle's playing. Can't really say the same about JM's, altho I haven't followed his music that closely.
As much as I love and respect Clapton the master, John is extremely talented, I just can’t deny it.. Awesome jamming from the both top tiers
Clapton himself said John is a master of guitar
You can tell John felt like he was in heaven ! So happy for him . Bob M .
Eric asks if you want a go, while doing a awesome solo just so easy for him, a true legend ❤
Doyle Bramhall knocked that outro out of the park. Simple, understated and respectful.
He is amazing.
I can barely hear him I hear john mostly
I guess John tasted eternity in that final jam. Layla’s outro sounds like eternity.
Imagine having John mayer just casually playing rhytm guitar for you… imagine being on stage with Clapton….. holy crap!! Its like when Knopfler just introduced Eric on rhytm, sting on some backing vocals and Phil collins on drums.. insane!!!
To the point… sweet!! ❤
That benefit concert for Montserrat was incredible
Don’t forget about Doyle Bramhall ll on the other guitar equally great guitar player . Thanks for sharing
he’s great. Seen him and the boys in Austin so many times with the ARC Angels.
Equally I dunno but he is great
Lot of mutual respect floating around that stage.

I‘m Korean. Thank you for your serving and plz remember that there are many people who likes eric and john's music in korea 😊

Oh thank you! I always knew it.
Not many, but I'm glad there are also people who know it!
I'm 23 and I listen to his music a lot.
When Clapton says you are master guitarist, it doesn't get any better than that.

とにかく素晴らしい
If Nathan East is on the stage, you know it's gonna be a top tier performance regardless
Exactly!
100 percent
The backing singers even! Just amazing
This is not a concert. This is a jamming session between friends. Just some people turn up to watch to enjoy good music.
That nod at 02:24 is amazing! passing of the torch
What about that you wanna go at 3:26
That slide guitarist is playing a righty backwards - fucking impressive
Doyle Bramhall II
Got to be the coolest intro to a song played on two strings
Clapton is now age 74 when gig was played in 2019
The greatest song ever
03:26 i love the way eeic turn around and said do you want a go for solo
Mayer takes the solo at 2:30, and then at 2:53 he just puts on a clinic on how to tastefully shred.
that lick is eluding me so much i know how to play it but im just not fast enough
Bahaha fun!! ❤
There's a reason John Mayer is on stage with the great E.C , it's because he can hold his own no matter who he is on stage with👑🤘
Hahahaha Im Brazilian and Im dying waiting for his performance here. Its gonna be my dream coming true. I dont even know how to type my actual feeling here in English. Best for you guys!
It will absolutely be worth the wait!
Just can't get better than this
ICONIC PERFORMANCE 👍🏽🎸
THAT NOD FROM EC TO JOHN TO SOLO ON HIS SONG. IM DYING
Clapton's voice is still so good!
Layla...
Eric Clapton
Great melody....
Doyle Bramhall killing it too.
excellent Layla..forever Eric Clapton
And Steve Gadd on drums. Doesn’t get any better.
John Mayer and Eric Clapton are both very talented
That out very soothing for the soul
I hope they never forget them … we grow up with that Legend….Soul!! ❤❤
What a performance
John Mayers Gitarre is so Spiritual….❤
Eric Clapton 100% flow
2:51 … just look at the smile on Doyle’s face … he knows 🔥 when he hears it
I so love this
Gorgeous
Man that Clapton look to John at the beginning..
4:59 amazing sampling of Billy Joel Moving Out (Anthony’s Song)
I was there! Had floor seat too! Great show! Both nights!
I’d love to see Doyle solo for once. He would probably kill it.
So cool!!
Why does this only have like 100 views ??😂😂😂
Thanks for the upload !!
This is fantastic!
This has been uploaded a bunch of times, that's why. Still, none of them have as many views as they deserve.
I think it's because the music is too good...i mean i come to this video almost daily but still i liked this video only after seeing your comment 😅
The bassist knew, what John Mayer was upto...
Super class
Amazing Talent ❤
Awesome!!
Semplicemente fantastici....
Love it. Great fan of both.
Para mí estar ahí en ese momento sería igual que estar en El Olimpo, rodeada de estos dioses de la música
Se me cayeron los bóxeres, el maestro y su maestro.
Clapton vocals were very good considering his age adjustments. Good back up vocals going on
Increíble!!!
clapton is just so good
my favourite ❤
What'll you do when you get lonely

You've been running and hiding much too long
You know it's just your foolish pride
Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, I'm begging, darling please
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind
I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down
Like a fool, I fell in love with you
Turned my whole world upside down
Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, I'm begging, darling please
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind
Let's make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane
Please don't say I'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain
Layla, you've got me on my knees
Layla, I'm begging, darling please
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind

Esse John Mayer é arroz de festa.
E que arroz de festa 🙏🏻
3:25 Eric: "wanna play a solo after me?". "No thx" 😅
jajajaja
How the hell did I miss this video?
Bah!! Demais!!
3:25 “You wanna go?”.
Not following that Mayer solo was wise, and Doyle is an excellent player.
Holy shit ❤
John Mayer is the greatest we will ever see
Wow’s
Experience counts
john mayer and the bluesbreakers :D

how does he sound better live at this age than when he was young? lol mf legend
State of the Art P.A system or State of the Art sound Mixers
Old guys rock!
😍😍😍
❤❤❤
I wish that was me
I’m pretty sure I ruptured my eardrums with this one!
Don’t think the camera knew Mayer was playing the solo at the end there lol
what is the name of Slash's brother? he plays well also.
When EC gives you the nod...
why is Nathan East not in the caption tho?
Both amazing but that bassist is just too cool for school.
What watch is Mayer wearing please anyone?
Is Doyle playing the guitar backwards?
👏🏿👏🏿
Cameraman didn’t get the brief
The drumming isn’t right
Gordon’s feel is still unbeatable
I thinks it’s the fact that the drummers are playing quarters on the ride instead of 8ths. Also the drums are played kinda quiet in this version, could just be me
Anyone notice John's guitar matches his shirt
6 egos playing a love song with four guitars etc
2050 ANYONE?
that guy on bass is ver familiar face
Nathan East!
@@JamesFolkers Thanks!
Nathan East. He's a bass legend.
Is it just an old school thing to have a rug on the stage? Ive seen the dead have 1 every show
Clapton is over 70. Don’t need him slipping on stage
watch the foot work :)
Is it me, or is the bassist looking like his age is getting reversed?
Who is playing slide ?

CAPO JHON MAYER
🫶🏻
little known fact, claptons face was normal but flattened by john mayers solo
