You got the German rifle wrong the gw88 used enbloc clips and was updated to stripper clips the gw98 was designed to use stripper clips I’m only trying to be helpful
you missed the politics of why the Metropolitan army off france wore red- the colonial forces like the foreign legion had nice khaki colored clothes. France ket flipping between socialist and conserviative governments. the socialist hinted maybe they wouldn't have nay army at all, relying on citizen soldiers. in the face of this the conservatives refused to allow ANY relaxing of the uniform of the metropolitan army, in effect while every other army marching onto the field in WW1 has field uniforms, the british most noted to be very hard to see, the french governmnet refused to allow any relaxation of the uniform and so in effect marched to war in dress uniforms as if it were still 1814. The british had done this in the crimea in the 1850's "We're fighting a european power not natives" and learned how stupid it was.
Nice and informative, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Smokeless Powder. During the Napoleonic Wars, the Battlefield was clouded by smoke. Bright color uniforms made sense.
A comment for the algorithm gods! Nice comparison
Praise the Spaghetti Monster.
Underrated channel

Good video with just the right amount of depth for a quick watch. Thanks! For more info on the guns in particular I’d recommend the channel C&Rsenal.
The best idea they came up with first was to ditch the shiny tuba and reflective vest. 🚫📯🦺 🤔
70% of the casualties were due to artillery. The German and French suffer the same amount of looses in August 1914
