Anyone who reduces all that pain down to “They choose to stay in it” or whatever Pearl says definitely have no idea what goes on in an abusive situation. It is important to understand why someone is doing something if you want to help them
I think the argument that can be made is that people don't get into relationships thinking "Im going to abuse this woman/man" so for people to turn into that means something has gone seriously wrong on your part to create that state of mentality in that person, obviously some people just change over time but it's normally created by a catalyst not from the start. Then having the choice of "My partners starting to become abusive should I leave?" normally results in people choosing not to leave because they'd rather be with someone even if they're abusive than be alone, which again is on them. Let alone people who do go into relationships wanting to just abuse people generally have very telling red flags in their behaviour to suggest they are abusive so again if you're choosing to get into a relationship with that person is on your own choice. There's lots more to it than people are willing to go into and talk about because they either look at ideals or excuses for accountability. I like listening to people I disagree with because I'm curious about how they support their stance. I love to debate. I probably disagree with 75% of what she says & agree with 25%. I mean, some of her takes are simply observations of reality & you can't argue with them. I primarily oppose generalizations without qualifiers because theyre objectively false. She can say "The majority of guys want a subservient woman," but it would be false to say "Men want subservient women." Diversity cannot be ignored or erased, so outliers should be acknowledged.

I'd know. I went from 140kg to 100kg in 6 months through a scheme that incetivises weight loss, rather than making you feel bad about it
I would have thought it be obvious that how someone changes is dependent on the individual themselves, positive reinforcement may work for you but for my weight loss the shame works for me, although in other areas for me positive reinforcement works. I just hate it when people are like "this is the definitive way to help 100% of people" because it is almost never the case, it has to be taken on a case by case basis.

She has a lot of opinions that are very good, and need to be talked about more. But the fat shaming of people and calling them whales is unnecessary. Having a conversation about weight and health is fine, but to shame people and use it as a weapon is wrong. Positive reinforcement is the only thing that works with something like weight loss. I'd know. I went from 140kg to 100kg in 6 months through a scheme that incetivises weight loss, rather than making you feel bad about it

What would be great is an interview with judges on divorce. Why are men not getting 50% custody? How is alimony and child support established. If a woman has a career, does she get alimony and child support if child custody is 50-50%? If divorce law is seen as so unfair towards men, why can't we have the judges explain why it is so ? That would be a lot more useful than hearing only the stories of men that feel they have gotten stiffed. Let's hear both sides and then see what a judge has to say
