can you please test low light 1080p video from ultra wide camera. I would love to see 16 in 1 pixel fusion (4.48 micron pixel size) video performance in extreme low light

The slight yellowish cast of the P40 Pro is a bit distracting.
I love my P30 Pro camera. The P40 pics here look dull by comparison.
Me too👍I don't have either phone, but that sky colour (and slightly more saturated overall too) difference in day time photos is much more pleasing to the eye on P30 Pro. I bet Samsung guys would agree as Samsung phones also take too saturated photos because they looks so good 😃
I forgot to talk about the noise in Huawei p40 pro's night mode, after the software update they will fix it. Please, review the night mode after the update. Stay safe man. I love and respect you. You are doing very well on TH-cam. Keep going!

After this video I realized how P30 Pro is good for photography when compared with new model. The only clear difference I noticed was in video quality. Except that - not that much of a difference as we would expect from the latest flagship.

thanks again. the 40 is definitely more refined, and I like the more natural colours. I actually prefer it for night mode too, it depends what you go for, but I don't like lights blowing out. and of course it seems way more light sensitive, plus the better selfie nights shots.

the biggest improvement on the P40 Pro is the lowlight capabilities on the zoom lens, but sadly you havent tested that :(

Would be good to see the exif data from the night pictures were the P40 Pro has so much noise. And know what mode you used for taking them. The P40 Pro should have better signal to noise ratio

The p30 pro has a vivid option, it looks like it's on. Choose standard, and the colors will look the same as p40 pro.
No, that isn't on, but the AI was on. If you turn it off the colours become more normal

The P40 Pro will get better in a few months with updates. It already got an update and it fixed the night mode pictures. In a few months it will probably be a bit cheaper as well

P30pro have Google apps, and camera is almost same. So my voice goes to last year model.
Very impressed with this one.. I too am someone who'd go for those naturally looking ones not the saturated photos. Saturated photos look so ugly to me personally

I'm amazed with the little difference. I've had my P30 Pro for nearly a year now and I really can't see after watching the comparison why I should go up and pay lots of money for very little upgrade and no Google (unless you side load it) . Thanks for that Alex. Fantastic job. Now if possible can you do comparison between the P30 Pro and the oppo find X2 . If I'm gonna change my phone it will be how these two look side by side. The P40 Pro looks better, but the P30 Pro is still looking great! I'm still satisfied with my P30 Pro, it got me some great pictures. It was ahead of its time for sure.

My cousins have all the x series except for xr. When I compared my mother's Huawei p30 lite 48 mp versiom the colors looked way more natural out of them all.

Did you use night mode for P40 Pro when taking those night shots? Apparently I've been hearing that the normal mode taken at night for the P40 Pro actually looks better in many cases than the night mode being switched on, so it would be great if you could confirm that.
I did use the night mode. When you use the regular mode to take night pictures they are more grainy

I find in p40pro main camera day time pictures in this comparison, the blue skies have a magenta cast to it which is not present in the P30pro .. Great video BTW, thanks..

Which phone is more comfortable to the eyes for long hours usage, the p30 pro or the p40 pro. Also, how dark is the alley at 8:26 and 8:37. The p30 pro seems unable to record anything, whereas the p40 pro is clear, any video mode to improve it to similar to p40 pro there? Thanks!
That alley was super dark. I could barely see anything with my own eyes. The screen on the P40 Pro is more comfortable
The P40 Pro photography is crushing it overall.
However, the P30 is no pushover either. Prefer the night photos on the P30.

Fantastic comparison! I'm sorry if I missed it, but is the AI mode on or off? Regarding the night time pictures, there seems to be an issue with Night Mode on the P40 Pro judging by the review over at GSMArena. With Night Mode off I suspect the P40 Pro to be a bit better, though perhaps not as good as the P30 Pro with Night Mode? I love the color accuracy of the P40 Pro, though like you said, Huawei could probably update the P30 Pro to achieve very similar quality if they wanted to. The Ultra Wide on the P30 Pro tends to underexpose photos which is why the sky is often dark blue. I usually have to raise the exposure of the whole image when taking a picture, or part of the image (like the sky) in post processing.

Can the p30 pro pictures daytime shots saturation be dumbed down?
Can someone help, recently my p30 pro refuses to super charge, it says supercharging when connected, but it's going awfully slow, 1 minute for each percent...just a few days ago it was fine, I checked all ports, everything is clean, checked battery settings, even did a factory reset, checked battery health, nothing works, I have ordered a new cable, maybe it's the cable, will find out tomorrow, phone is only two weeks old..
