Dear Otz (or whatever the hell u are), here's a challenge from a long time fan. Do a streak of streaks. What I mean by that is u have to win with every single killer in a row while using a build from a streak or a challenge. U can use a build mora than once from the same streak but please encourage variety. My personnal suggestion is that you divide the killer cast in 4 and then u associate 1 series per division of the cast. (Just make sure u dont play the same builds in a row for V A R I E T Y.) Pls like so he does it
It's so funny that they opened up that window on Freddy map, closed it, and now I've gotten held hostage twice in that room thanks to the devs essentially advertising that "Hey this is a stuck spot!", fixing it, and then allowing it to return to being a stuck spot
This is what an actual Meta Shakeup should do. There‘s now tons of viable builds on both sides, not just one or two dominant strategies. Glad they‘re finally figuring it out, in hindsight 6.1.0 was pretty bad in terms of Perk Rebalancing Edit: Apparently saying that new perks are viable now is contentious? TH-cam comments will argue about anything
@@avian1799 It's not a meta shake up if the perks don't actually compete well enough to justify using instead of the actual meta perks I just listed. For example when OTR got reworked to do 3 different things, THAT was a meta shake up.
In terms of never heal builds, That’s an area where Blood Echoes can be VERY good, as most never heal builds are heavily reliant on their exaustion perks to make distance without having a second hit.
Also "Never heal Builds" already work best on coordinated teams. Good luck staying injured when you have a randomer going down each 20 seconds and some random Mikaela doing boons in the background.
As a note, don't dodge the lobby. I have this build in one of my loadout slots and another build without Leverage in another. If I see a bunch of medkits I switch to the other build. It is not slimy to change your build but it is slimy is to dodge.
Dodging lobbies will result in you not being able to adapt to medkits and ultimately become a weaker player. But sadly there's NOTHING preventing Killers from doing this or encouraging them not to...
Time is life's most valuable resource. If people sacrifice time waiting in queue for specific lobbies instead of playing the game they like, I'd say thats their choice to make @@notOtzdarva
Lately I've been running Overzealous, Inner Strength, Second Wind, and 4th perk flexible. Being able to (more or less) continue with the match and heal up "passively" without having to hold everyone else up. I'm not the highest MMR but it has worked well for me wherever I'm at. That is, when my random teammates don't treat doing a totem or hopping into a locker for a couple seconds as an egregious violation of Dead by Daylight gameplay
I always felt awkward running Inner Strength. It's undeniably a great perk, but I felt like I had to do the totem and hop in the locker in secret so no one thought I was trolling, throwing, or just plain bad.
@@irregularassassin6380 People definitely go full idiot mode sometimes over it. Had someone in those 8 seconds literally direct the killer to the locker I was healing in.
honestly i think i like this meta, there's an actual decision to make. either stick the heal if the killer is busy, find a different teammate to heal you, or try to do a generator away from the action if nobody else can do one.
haha. it isn't really meta. it's niche perk. what is meta is dead man switch. for what people thought was nerf to the perk ends up being a massive buff. you can run pain res, grim embrace, dead man switch and deadlock. dms blocks gens for so long that it is like pain res of blocking perks. consistent, high value. Grim embrace used to block all gens for 30 seconds but now it is more facilitator for triggering dms rather dms upgrading the perk. deadlock is more free game-delay facilitation and than we have pain res. Pain res+DMS returns to be most powerful delay perk in the game... just like pre 6.1. the difference is their competition that used exist(Hex:Ruin and Pop goes weasel) is gone. So it is only real build now on killer. Running anything else than these 4 perks is almost borderline trolling.
Love the fact that this guy didn't just show the strong build, but also suggested builds for survivors to deal with it if/when it becomes a common occurrence! Incredibly based, good sir, that Otz guy could learn a thing or two from this style of video! also the plushie is SO cute really wanna try and buy one when I get the chance
At 12:26 you see the Ace running from the Claire and he'd just unhooked the Yun-Jin; it's entirely possible that Leverage was just enough to prevent him from picking her up in time based on the timings of things (~30s since downing Claire). Combine that with the fact he had a styptic, he could've possibly picked her up and then body-blocked or given her endurance (especially if you'd have still been behind the wall by then)
First time I've seen Otz cover a build I was already using! I've been using this on anti-healing build for Dracula. My other two perks are Coulrophobia and Sloppy Butcher. Drac likes his meals nice and bloody 😋
I have a spreadsheet of a ton of perks, killers & killer power ideas I come up with & one of them was a heal debuff for the unhooker of either 30% or 50% if it was a hex perk. So i’m not sure if I undervalued it or if this perk will eventually be nerfed. i’m currently working on *The Mummy (1999)* killer & power ideas which has been a challenge but I enjoy it so much
I've been seeing this a lot in games. I've been running boons to counter it and that seems have worked well. Both parties run to the boon to get away from the hook, shadow step hides your aura and scratch marks while CoH speeds up that heal.
Good thing Make Your Choice was on Freddy. I've been running it on Wraith quite successfully and I'd rather be called a proxy camper than a copycat. Love your content man.
Strength in shadows helps a lot i think, often times is less wasted time than selfcare, but can be more value than lots medkits. The only exception is that resurgence + medkit is always better but if you dont like running that strength is a great alternative!
10:40 Yeah, I had a moment about that in my last game, where I was chased by Bubba into that room, I thought thats an easy vault to escape and then I was locked in. Bubba just shook his head and executed me on the spot...
Honestly the survivors have a couple more tools to heal without medkits. Plot twist is effectively a free 30 second heal that you can do at any point, and you can do it again in endgame. Inner healing is also useful, destroy a totem and you have a 10 second heal, totems take 13 seconds to destroy so excluding the time to find a totem & locker, it's a equal to normal heals. It's main weakness is being limited to a maxium of 5 uses across the entire team, so only 1-2 survivors can take inner healing.
I’ve been running this for a while now : Déjà-vu / Empathy / For the People / Second Wind I don’t get slowed -> killer is backing ? Hop insta heal. I get downed afterward, I’ll heal myself after unhooking… And I try and prevent the two worst killer strats with my 2 info perks (3-gening, tunneling - I step in the path of the wounded people I see all over the map)
@@Venjamin yes it does But be careful, to get Second Wind you need to heal 100% yourself. If someone begins the healing and you just finish it with FPT your perk won’t be fully charged, as well as healing with 2 people. And I’ve read somewhere that some perks like SW requires to heal 1 sec normally before using the perk, I haven’t specifically noticed that though… And your broken status from FTP must end before someone unhooks you otherwise SW won’t activate.
I knew this was going to be a thing. The moment I saw the new leverage I said "yup. Its a anti healing meta now". Im on hiatus now, but I bet that when I come back in a few months the combo will most likely be nerfed
When I realized that gift of pain was essentially sloppy butcher for m2 killers + gen slowdown, I wondered why it wasn't already used alongside pain res
Another 4th perk to consider swapping in place of BBQ or Pain Res would be Make Your Choice! This way, you have double pressure in the form of an insta down on the person doing an unhooking, AND then you can follow the person who was unhooked. Alternatively, you can grab A Nurse's Calling to ensure you can find them if they catch on to not heal directly under the hook
Does Make Your Choice on the Freddy match not have anti synergy with this build? Wouldn't the mindset of making the unhooker scared to stay at hook and heal be a bit counter intuitive? Or is the idea that they won't even try to heal so Make Your Choice gets to do its own thing
Before the huge Freddy nerf thrilling tremors, pop, make your choice, and bbq and chili was my main build for a very long time. Being able to see what gen is being worked on and able to to and pop it was so good especially with prenerf pop
I knew the second I saw the Leverage buff, it was gonna be META; mainly for tunneling. And I was really surprised no one spoke up about it in a major way on the PTB that it made it to live. I've already had a couple games against it with 1 of them hardcore tunneling; it's only a matter of time before more stinky peeps catch on and use it which leads us to a terrible 6 months META dictated by Leverage.(Kinda reminds me of MFT in a way) If they REALLY wanted to make it not such a tunnel heavy perk; you could make it so the debuff goes away early by stepping 12m away from the hook since the whole reason they changed it was to discourage healing under the hook.
This perk is nothing compared to old MFT. Making it disappear once the survivor leaves the hook "radius" would make it completely useless. Killer perks should not be countered by something even mediocre survivors know.
This is in no way comparable to mft when mft has 2 effects in 1 perk and this build is not op considering it last for 30 seconds. Don’t heal on the hook I thought y’all would know this by now.
Last night I tried this build but with a lullaby/imortel variant on Freddy that really nasty, with the right add-ons I had a 14% regression bonus if they missed the skill checks. The setup was perfect I had 5 token, four gen close to each other and the totem in the middle like a cherry on a cake. They disconnected after 40min after i had my first kill. Gift of pain and the new skull marchand perks is already overpowered combo by himself
10:39, if I recall correctly, the window is suppose to be opened 100% of the time, but I think BHVR reverted this changed. as the window was always opened when the patch came out, but then like a day or two after, I've never seen the window open afterwards. Edit: It was reverted in the 8.3.1 patch
See, I appreciate you making a vid about a strong build that requires hooking people; now, hopefully the inexplicable amount of turbo-sluggers that seem to have popped up recently might actually hook people again!
The downside of this build is that they could just ignore healing, some teams are just very good at chases, so if they do it correctly which they did as you kept leaving them from 6:52 to 8:22 (90 seconds of basically nothing really going on on your side, apart pressuring one by one), they could overcome that build, only thrill could be valuable and that's if you down them.
Recently started using this and it's amazing! The only thing that counters this (in my argument) is solidarity, deadline and autodidact, since u can get 5 stack so easily
this perk combo is completely fine imo. We'll make it is a hard counter alone, and with a med-kit already hard counters it with just taking up ONE perk slot, and with resurgence the heal is still incredibly fast. It does punish people who aren't running resilience, otr, we'll make it/resurgence but there's also other counters to it like Second Wind, as well as Inner Strength. there's a number of ways to counter it, and I think that's fine. We'll make it is still 25% faster than the heal speed reduction of 2 perks... for the cost of 1. Add a medkit for 50% faster up to 75% faster.

5:12 well that's a new fear unlocked as someone who always uses Iron Will
That was some unapologetic tunneling in that first game. Poor Steven! 😂
Time to break out the resurgence - self care - botany builds let's gooooo
Can't wait to see only this build for the next 3 weeks.
Good thing I run a full healing build w auto. Been running into this build a lot and auto is a huge counter
1:21 That shirt though...am I the only one who sees that 🤣🤣🤣
14:05 this was so funny bro😂
This title really gets me, because I really did wake up as this was posted.
this perk combo is completely fine imo.
Autodidact is a counter to this build, easier to get tokens and when at max tokens you get 60% progress
"Hello, friends. This is Otz" is what I would say if I was Otz.
Thanks to otz for making my solo q survivor hell against killers 😍
Can’t wait to go against this build every match now
and then there's me: MFT, Botany Knowledge, We'll Make It, and Yoichi's perk I can't remember the name of just turbo healing everyone in a nanosecond.
Loving these buffs so cool!!
"metafreddy doesn't exist, it can't hurt you"
otz; yeah you can rest well dw
I did this build with Dredge recently using malthinker's skull to keep everyone injured and ensure I'm always getting nightfall faster. Really nasty.
This is one of the most stacked badham I've ever seen
That Gift of pain and Leverage was part of my Demogorgon build combo I even have proof videos!
