I can't way to pay coder my hard earned money in order to see more hilarious sub replays. So happy he covers such fun content, and the price really isn't that bad all things considered! Yeah I've been hungry a few nights due to subbing and donating, but it's totally worth it for my boy distant coder to have a designer condo downtown and purchase more sealed retro video games for thousands of dollars. best you can do is search scheiren or solliek. Then somehow making redoer with your scheiren. So it's more of a control deck now. Where you tried to fusion on your opponent turn if you get unlucky.

its debatable whether the TCG or MD hit Tearlaments harder. All the names to 1 and Kitkallos banned has turned that deck into a tier 3 menace.
KashTear may still be a possibility in MD since they left Kitkallos at 1.

The merli ban actually goes kinda hard. That is not a consistency hit. Its a power hit. Your ceiling is lowered now.

When Elf got banned in TCG I was fuming. Before that I found Merrli to be a big problem cause Spright elf was mainly being played in tear TCG simply because of her, and unfortunately because of that, Spright had to lose one of their extra monster cards...without them doing much in tear 0 format.
If you get rid of Merrli, you reduce both the effectiveness of Tear AND Spright sprind/elf. Elf doesnt have to get banned and kitkallos also doesnt have to go.

The Merli + Millers hit actually does a lot of damage. No more sprind elf lines, no more kit mill 8 with kit mill chain blocked. No more Scream Normal Merli to unbrick. And most importantly 2 fusion summon per turn instead of three meaning end boards are between Rukalos or Kaledo Heart, not having both.
Also if you normal rinoheart, then you wont have a target for kit to summon back when activating its effect, that would do something on summon
Finally I can play at my turn and not get my deck obliterated after I summon "A" monster.

Not gonna lie the Merrli ban is more brutal then I first thought. I didn't realize how much of the deck revolved around her. Reinoheart is the deck's one and only normal summon with an effect. You have no target for Kit if you started with Reinoheart unless you summon any other Tear for no effect. Spright Elf and Sprind are insanely hard to summon unless you specifically run Diviner and don't use the effect. Going from three potential fusions to two makes any form of interruption that much more devastating, especially if it result in a name being banished.
Honestly, banning a Tear name is a harder hit that limiting all of them. It makes them both less consistent, more fragile and less powerfull, since now they can only fusion 2 times per turn
Jokes aside, the level 2 Merrli ban is a very effective hit on Tearlament. Might see them drop to Tear 2

@@quassar4618 It takes away a whole additional fusion summon from them. Not only that it also takes away the usage of elf and sprind. Now I don't know if this is enough to drop them from tier 1 but it does make it harder to play if you don't hit names.
I would even argue that hit matter more than simply just banning kit

I think I just realized the actual reason they banned Merrli instead of Kitkallos or any of the others: Merrli is the _lowest rarity,_ so they can ban her with less risk of losing money.
It's obvious but it's not the actual reason.
It's probably why they made her an N rarity in the first place though because banning her is an incredible hit to the deck and now they don't have to refund UR
@@ziggylcd12 I'm unsure if they planned the banlist that far ahead, as this is a different way than both the OCG and TCG decided to nerf Tearlaments on the banlist, but it's a plausible theory!
Rhongo hit makes sense to me. From what I’ve seen online Sales Ban Rhongo decks have been a pain in the ass to deal with higher up the ladder

As a Dogmatika player, that banlist made me so happy, seeing tear and branded being hit, bishbaalkin, rhongo, agido and merrli got banned and nadir got up to 3, now i'll wait for luluwalilith and mikanko releases

The bishbaalkin hit saddens me. I've used it as a way to link climb into random nonsense like borrelend. It also can effectively interrupt the opponent by summoning a bunch of tokens during their turn. I have stonewalled swordsoul, branded, sky striker, mathmech, etc. by summoning tokens in between their effect activations.

The Rhongo ban is perhaps the strongest indicator of how the banlist is decided.
The only hit I want to see is Runick Fountain to 0. They can unlimite the rest of the cards. Fountain carries the entire deck on it's back and it's not ok
Fountain at 1 would be ok, one cosmic cyclone and you have game
@ivanmartinez9536 Are you really going to run Cosmic Cyclone in a Bo1 format? If Joshua Schmidt believes Circular should be banned because it's a 1 card starter, Fountain literally keeps Runick together with duct tape. Remove it and the deck is gone. Remove Circular and the deck still functions. Fountain is more of a problem that never should have been printed.
@@kanga2468 Thats why i think it should be at 1, not banned. If you limit Fountain Runick players will need some way to protect it (besides Hugin) or a form of recovery from banish zone. Lol i would not play Cyclone Just for this card, i Main Swordsoul so i Just banish it with Qixing Longyuan or Supreme Sovereign.
But killing a deck thats not even meta is a bit extreme i think, it would be like banning Eldlich the Golden Lord (even tho i dont like both decks).

I don't think a card that is searchable with every card in its archetype and becomes pot of greed for just playing cards AND makes every card in your archetype a hand trap isn't good card design. Joshua slanders Circular because it's an in-archetype foolish that searches a spell when you summon an in-archetype monster. Every Runick is Rota on top of extra effects, and the field spell is a Magical Musket Max on top of being a pot of Avarice/Greed. Fountain is a bannable problem. Circular is being crucified for the sins of Update Jammer Accesscode.

Merrli is like in more than half the plays Tearlaments do. This hits SOOOO hard to them. People need to stop downplaying this ban. This is worse than just banning Kitkallos.

kitkallos is still legal and that card is the biggets problem, also in teh OCG the deck is way more hite and is still one of teh Top 3 decks for some weird reason.

@@Xero-rr2ol I wouldn't say "much harder" when they still have 1 of each miller and multiple Sullieks. Banning Kitkallos means limiting their mill power, banning Merrli means reducing the ceiling as you can only fuse twice now, and can't use neither Elf nor Sprind.

They finally listened to suggestions, it made no sense. But why they banned JUST block dragon and not gallant granite with the pachy first turn lock happening, i just dunno.
vernusylph players swap out the rock cards for 'dungeon dice' 'dimension dice' 'machine duplication' and 'morphtronic telefon' - even getting 2 telefon on board will net you like 15 link material

Reasons Merrli was the card to be banned:
1. It milled on summon so with elf you could mill and fuse on opponent's turn
2. It was a fusion card so without it Tear has 2(?) fusions per turn
And 3. Its a N so players don't get any value out of it lol lmao
I also feel like theyre just gonna try and go a different way with tear so they arent just trash, i dont think they'll be tear 1 (get it?) But they'll probably be a deck you still see fairly often (all of this coming from an avid tear hater)

Farfa HARD underestimating how big a hit merli is to tear
The Merlli hit was good, if they banned Kitt the deck is a lot worse cause King Swamp is at 1.
Pure Spright lose their frog engine was a huge hit, but Spright can be mixxed with other decks so the deck is still strong.

Getting Tearlament to a good place is hard, but so far I like what they have done with the deck. The deck does a lot of interesting and cool stuff but very easily becomes overwhelming. It would nice to have it in the meta without it necessarily being the best deck.
Best place for tearlaments is for them to get the dragon rulers treatment
No deck deserves to get the DR treatment, I'm gonna be real with you. It's both unrealistic and makes players unwilling to invest in new decks regardless of their power level if Konami shows any willingness to give more decks the DR treatment. It's not the win you think it would be.

I'm really starting to think that Farfa shouldn't be able to play the game. Basically what he is saying, most of the times, is: "Let me play the unfun combo pile and ban everything because I'm tired of the meta"(which I can understand). However I would like to be able to play diverse decks rather than murder Branded, Tear, Spright, etc., and just to clarify I play all of these decks and also the new best one DLink

i love how they continuo in using the banlist to make decks as inconsistent but still able to do the same combos as possible. tear is now out for so long even in master duel as well as spright so why can't we just ban kitkalos and then when they do their thing it's it's worse in totality but at least it's not that every other game you get high rolled
It's how they generally do it in the OCG. They hit consistency until either the deck falls out of the meta or until they need to straight up kill it.
Lol banning kit is a way bigger consistency hit than banning Merrli. I love most people who complain don't actually play the deck.
@@pro711200 you do know what consistency means? losing kit doesn't loose consistency as it does not change how likely you are to get to what you want to do it just makes what you can do 100 times worse which for tear while magic dragon is legal is still as good as other decks.
@@esrohm6460 it literally does... Losing kit means you lose all your main 1 card starters... Reinoheart is a one card starter with kit and isn't without. The deck will basically have to rely on milling well instead of having 1 card plays. I love when people who have never touched the deck tell me I'm wrong.
@@pro711200 which means it is a power not consistency decrease. low consistency means that what the deck does is highly reliable on what you open while low power means that regardless of what you open you will do not as much.
without kit you are still as likely to draw a starter as before but what you can achieve with those starters is way worse.
technically without kit there is a consistency decrease because reinoheart can no longer on it's own fuse into something as there is no fusion from water warrior and dark aqua so you need a second card to make something like mudragon but that is not what you are talking about. you say that if a deck can no longer do what it did before, that is a consistency decrease.
i hate that my brandeed tear deck got hit cause now I only have sword soul to play in the competitive format till I can build another deck.
