Elijah Jackson completely agree! Everyone deserves education and healthcare. So many Americans are in student loan debt!! Most can’t afford homes. I just heard on the news recently that 58% of millennials are living with families and roomate because they can’t pay the debt off. College here is a scam..

Hey do!! I was in Sweden in March to April 2017 doing a foreign exchange program from the states! I definitely made more European friends than Swedish friends, which made me a bit sad. But overall a great experience. Fell in love with FIKA and Swedish cinnamin buns! I wish the coffee was as good in the states and I wish we had FIKA. Compared to NY subway system, the Swedish system was a godsend, I was never late anywhere for those 2 months, except 1 morning. Plus sweden has an amazingly long paternity and maternity leave, and they give women 3 free sessions of IVF . LOved it there, and would go back for another visit!!

Dear Augustus. That is the understatement of the year about Swedish people being difficult to get to know. I have had a Swedish roomate for two and a half years. We have adjoining bedrooms but communication, especially in the morning is a challenge. He prefers that I call him on my phone as he doesn't like to talk before noon

Is the idea of not being open to small talk true? If so, I'm in trouble because as a Canadian we are extremely open and chat with everyone. I am a chef and hope to work in Sweden in a smaller area like Gotland or somewhere along the sea. I have always been fascinated with Sweden because of ice hockey, Husqvarna and of course ABBA. We are use to long cold winters too.

Hi Tina! Thanks for the information.
I haven't checked your other videos yet, but I'll still ask. lol
How can I apply for a scholarship in Sweden?
Which are the requirements to apply for a Swedish temporal residency?
Which are the major industries in Sweden? I would like to know if i could actually work with my chosen career in Sweden.
    Do companies usually hire foreigners?
What would you recommend before learning swedish?
I'm just 14 years old, but since a few years ago, I've dreamt of moving to Sweden. I'm Salvadorian, universities don't offer exchange programs, so i'll have to find an institution that could grant me an opportunity to study in Sweden at least for some time.
I speak three languages, i'm interested in volunteering and I have distant relatives who emigrated to Sweden a long time ago (my grandaunt) and other whom were born there (my first cousins once removed and my second cousins). Could these help me to apply?
    Thanks for your help!

You're very sympathetic and pretty. Here in Denmark I never notice problems with blacks - most Danes go for the personality - and you're so sweet. Same as in Sweden, I suppose. I myself have 2 "kids" (now 19 boy and 18 girl) with my ex-wife from Cuba, black. They never have problems with their color here. All depends on your personality - life is secure here, with people caring like in Sweden. They have loads of friends. Never care about the color - they never think about it - only when their friends or I myself joke about it - like we joke with anything else like about people from Jutland. Lovely to live here in Scandinavia :-) (Finn-Denmark)

I think, perhaps, that I was supposed to have been born in a tropical climate somewhere. You know where lose fitted linen pants and a tank top is your everyday gear. Where you can wear flip-flops to ANY occasion, and where the height of fashionable dressing - like, for a wedding or something - would mean putting a semi buttoned white linen shirt on top of that tank top. :D

To say that it is easy to recognize a Swede and say that we should dress in a kind of uniform, this only applies to Stockholmers. I live 120 km north of Stockholm in a city called Kiruna and we do not dress like Stockholmers. When it comes to not talking to strangers and it is difficult to make Swedish friends. This only applies to Stockholmers and it is because they are what we up here in Lapland call high-quality blisters and think they are special. We in Kiruna are easy to start talking to and easy to make friends with and I have heard this from many tourists and those who moved to Sweden and first lived in Stockholm but then moved up to Kiruna, they have all said that here in Kiruna meet you quickly make new friends and everyone wants to talk to you if you go to a disco or a pub, for example.

I'll bite on the racism part. Let's try the counterfactual approach. Which culture in this world will readily cede its land, fortunes, job market, traditions, identity and public safety over the span of two generations, without having some occasional expressions of resentment and in-group consolidation take place as a result?
We are a culture at the edge of the secular-individualist-expressive ID scale. We're currently busy pushing in a new demographic, overwhelmingly from cultures of the polar opposite type, maxed out on the religious-collectivist-survival markers. General education level is low. It's an unprecedented and irreversible reshaping of our future as a people, and a huge strain on our state, as we give away tax money and get segregation (our fault), gang shootings (our fault), bombings (our fault) and torture rape of minors (our fault) in return. Which to many comes as an understandable shock given the peaceful, modern, non-judgemental and crime-free state of the Somali, Syrian and Afghan etc societies we are hinging our own future on today. All while we lecture ourselves and take lectures from others, that we a) suck, b) have little to no moral right to demographic self-preservation, in a world with 1000-fold our population and c) will come out of the demographic experiment smelling like a midsummer meadow, given how everybody loves our Swedish model. And, closeted bigots that we are, we continue voting for more of this exciting migration pattern to this day, under the racist banner of global solidarity.
I note how Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Japan and China have fortress-like border policies, and in return have much fewer people enter there to tell them about their racist ways, on some quota-based public radio channel. I can't wait to asylum-migrate myself. just so I can blame the host country for not fulfilling my fantasy-laced expectations, like any normal desperate refugee would.
I do encounter a good many foreigners these days, who clearly (sometimes demonstratively) didn't come here for their deep love and respect for us, but rather for things that we have and that they have their sights on. And we were kindof here first, something peoples across time and place tend to make a fuss about when push comes to shoves. Which in turn makes them racist provided their pigmentation correlates to a temperate or polar latitude.
But sure be my guest - keep spreading the word. Sweden sucks and Swedes suck so don't come here. If you want to walk the extra mile and launch a rescue mission to retrieve some like-minded hostile dwellers stuck in our depressive mire as well, feel free to knock your self out.

I understand what you say completely, and it's not racist at all.i'm so sorry about the crimes you mentioned.can you say what is the general attitude toward someone who moves there for work, respects the culture, speaks swedish, doesn't expect anything handed to them?
PS:I had never heard that Swedes were racist.

And they post it on social media and suddenly everyone wants to wear that. I think many people don’t wear what they actually would like to wear because they are like scared ti be judged

Phill Att non whites are expats period. The immigrants complaints is due to broke people trying to enter new countries and move while being a burden. Expats are ppl with money who move immigrants are broke they add color to keep ppl at each other’s throats

    • @kalex5705
      @kalex5705 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Immigrants are usually defined as people who have come to a different country in order to live there permanently, whereas expats move abroad for a limited amount of time or have not yet decided upon the length of their stay. Please use Google. Besides this definition does not identify any racial group, that's a person bias for who ever thinks is a white vs black label. As I am BLACK AND PROUD, I can use either definition based on what my decision is. As I am interested in working and living in Sweden and have yet to decide whether it's worth staying I used the definition of expat.
