#Gols this video was hard to make. I struggled pushing the publish button and to be honest I still cannot believe I just did it. I feel like I am walking naked and it scares me 😭 Even if one person can relate to me I will feel like it was worth it. Otherwise I will see you next week with a very happy extra video.
Love you so much my fairy family ❤️

Thank you so much for this! I came to the US 4 years ago from Kenya, and this explains everything I went through, I was always top of my class back home, but with my accent, the starting over and missing my family back home was just too much. I'm so glad I found your channel. You are very inspiring and i love what you do. Keep the videos coming! I'm currently binge watching your channel❤

Rachel I moved to germany 10 yrs ago. Believe me everyone that come's from Africa go through this. Since we come from a community where people are always happy despite all the pro n cons they face. In europe is a place where they are not so outgoing or social like our people so it takes time and energy physical and mentally to fit in. But you made it that's all that counts. Im from kenya as well.😚

@RachelOtieno, Wow! You are such a beautiful soul! I just started watching you yesterday. Your video of you and Henrick (channel) came up on my feed as 'recommended' and I must say, you both did not disappoint! I instantly fell in love with your spirit and your smile! I just had to learn more about you so I came over to your personal page. Now, I am hooked! :-)
You are without a doubt a lovely soul. Your transparency will help others to take stock into learning about themselves and ways to seek out learning the world outside of their comfort zone. As a teacher, I have traveled and lived outside of the U.S. and experienced some of the same things you have, but with prayer and determination, I managed to get back on track! I love this beautiful world we live in although some events and behaviors are just heart-crushing! Overall, your advice was on point! Living in a foreign country for a short length of time will help one to decide if that place is where they would want to call "home." #GoalsForRetirement.
Many blessings to you, Rachel and to your Henrick! Thanks for letting me see what is possible for the future of our younger generation. You rock!

Thanks for Sharing Rachel . And for touching on the subject of depression... Mental illness is somewhat “ taboo “ among the African community. People think you can just pray the sadness or the crazy away but sometimes we do need help from skilled professionals. That’s why so many Africans are walking around undiagnosed and really can’t get the help they need because we sometimes feel we cannot talk about it...I totally got you when you said you were sleeping a lot and didn’t want to talk to a lot of people.. been there too boo.
Glad to hear you overcame. You seem like such a jolly person.

Having gone through depression I will say it did not make sense then but anyone reading this just know you could not be luckier because the person that rebirths from that state is the best ever version of you the you just keep on disccovering moreof yourself and something else is... it never rrrreallly goes away like a dark cloud hanging.. But knowing you are your own champion ..maaann... keeps you going.. Also.. Never really known true happiness like my life after... Thank you so much Rachel for sharing... Double thumbs up!

Honey, most people who have made the move from back home will relate to this no matter how you came. The transition shakes you and then it gets better. Hugs. Sweden sounds like a good place to live. The benefit part mostly :-) Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Milan.

Also live in Sweden and can relate to the starting from scratch thing , the depression, the doing courses that You don’t really need just to get in uni. And dealing with people who keep asking when you graduating. Thank God I’m in a better place now though I still have a long way to go. I applaud your strength ❤️👏🏼

Thank you Rachel. I moved to France as an aupair too then moved to UK. Has it been easy? NO.! life abroad can be very depressive. I totally relate. I had to do counselling and psychotherapy which helped me be able to explore and discover who I am as a person. I was going through a lot of brokenness and gladly overcoming them huddles step by step. Glad you're confident to open up and share something as deep. Keep going sis...

Hi Rachel....I am from Jamaica....i love with "Henrik and Rachel" and just subscribes to your personal channel. I love watching you guys and I personally know what it feels like to go through depression, my twin brother even has schizophrenia. Depression is a REAL life sickness, that if not taken carefully in hand can be a downfall in ones life. I am still learning how to cope with life and it was really encouraging listening to your story.
It takes a lot of guts to talk openly about depression, If i was publicly known like you.....i couldn't do it....but ur a strong one!!! Keep up the good job and be encouraged u are not alone.
